A huge big welcome to the Brave Babes threads.

We're a varied group of posters, on this wonderfully supportive, non judgemental, gigantic Bus, and we are all heading in the same direction - towards Sobriety.

Some of us don't touch a drop of alcohol, some of us do. Some of us drink too much, openly admit it and are desperate to stop and some of us are trying to manage controlled drinking.

No matter what we're doing, we're just trying to do it One Day At A Time.

What ever you need, what ever your habit, chances are that there'll be another poster who is just like you or has been where you are now, already here, waiting to talk or just listen :)

Yes, some of us have been here for a longer time than others, some of us for just a few days but that's what makes this Bus so great imo, the variety of knowledge and understanding :)

This Bus has been whizzing along various roads now for almost four years thanks to the very desperate cry for help from THIS THREAD BY JWN

I've missed you! Good to see you here. As above, the early menopause is not agreeing with me, had a bout of sickness yesterday - not related I don't think following a friend's advice, bed at 6.30pm, made to get up at 9.20am by DH, as Nemo had preschool and DH has been interviewing in Brum...... I looked like Deep Fried Dog Vomit without the alcohol! So not on. If I'm going to feel that ill and look that bad and vomit that much, then I expect a reason!

Alias, it was the fact that you were talking so matter of factly about bowel movements that gave me the courage to post. If you can post about poo you should be able to post about anything. Thank you!

Hex - that is the whole point of the Bus, yes, there is a very serious undercurrent to the reason for it, alcohol abuse and misuse but we are all normal

Thank you Mouseface, I hope that I can have the courage to articulate how I feel sooner rather than later like so many of you have on these threads. I have been putting on a jokey face on here so far but I do in fact feel like the teenager I am pretending to be on here - totally unequipped for what I have to do and completely immature emotionally so more likely to sulk and blame everyone else rather than owning up. I know I have to face a few home truths and I'm terrified of that.

Oh and pmsl at mouse saying we are normal. We travel in an imaginary bus called Gerald which has a sparkly stiletto on top, a sidecar of shame on the side carrying a dog called Spirit, and have a roof rack called Roger! The bus is full of women eating Opal fruits and bacon but ties, a salvation army band and a squid called Barry.
AND NO-ONE QUESTIONS ANY OF THIS!
