themidwife · 20/04/2013 07:28

Morning all - I'm still sleeping off the home births & the emotional ups & downs of the men in my life!!

Metanium is fab as a last resort if the skin really breaks down. Chamomile tea & tea tree is impressive Kitty!! I used bamboo washable nappies & little fleece squares & water to clean my babies' botties. When the nappies were on the line they looked like a row of dead rabbits much to visitors' horror! Wink

Stationery week - paper porn eh?!!!

Mini I hope you feel better today about things & Jynier more at peace. The sun shone yesterday & it just makes such a difference as does the flowers coming out & animals reemerging.

Cafe - that's awful re nursery!! The sooner he's out of there the better!! Angry

MrsShrek3 · 20/04/2013 09:03

pmsl at dead rabbits on the line Grin

hugs mini

oooh at stationary week.....that's an excuse if ever i saw one asif we need one eh bluey

no meteors, jynier? (were there supposed to be?) we watched the space station go over at 10.15 but saw nothing else.

and DO NOT put up with a bully, cafe. at nursery age ffs Shock they start young don't they....Angry remind the staff of duty of care, safeguarding and ask for their risk assessment and action plan to deal with it (i mean demand it but I am being polite) That should kick em up the bum. You know more than they do about this shit, grill 'em.

mornin everyone Grin

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 20/04/2013 09:19

Morning all. Smile

Another sleep through the night for littlekitty. Grin Can any of you experienced mums shed any light on why she is able to do this but will equally wake every hour or be awake and playing all night?! Confused

Yes themidwife, me too with the little fleecy squares. I love having a line full of nappies Grin Mine are coloured and patterned.

jynier your friend sounded lovely. Thanks

mini I'm so sorry about your tears. I hope your lovely husband gave you a lovely cuddle. I hope today is a better day for you. It's sunny in kittycity, how about where you are? Grin

bluey I checked out your restaurant...swanky isn't the word Shock Grin The menu is written like a list of random parings Confused

salmon, buttermilk, nutmeg

Is that a risotto? Poached? With pasta? Very intriguing Hmm Can't wait for you to report back Grin

How are you today?

Peers into a pile of stationery trying to find stars. Fails. Grin
Hi Mrs Grin
Stands behind Mrs again with arms folded, nodding.

themidwife · 20/04/2013 11:35

My fleecy squares have sheep on them - still use them as face cloths!

Minimammoth · 20/04/2013 20:12

Thanks for hugs and thoughts people. Feeling better, and DH took some of the workload. My problem is I have about 5 different jobs, I get a bit cross eyed at times. Finished my Saturday work so chilling with wine now.
Can't wait for Stationery week. How shall we celebrate.

BlueyDragon · 20/04/2013 21:59

I like stars ' paper clip rope. I am making one as we speak want one.

Did you know there's a pencil museum in the Lake District? We could have an insomniacs' outing Grin ?

Minimammoth · 20/04/2013 22:05

Hi Bluey. I have been to the pencil museum. Not enough paper IMO. Although I do drool a bit over coloured pencils in art shops. I want to celebrate with a nice notebook, and pen, and stick its. And a folder. And some notelets.< which of course always lay around and never get used but seem a good idea at the time.>

BlueyDragon · 20/04/2013 22:11

Glad you're feeling better mini.

kitty, if you get an answer on the sleep thing, tell me. Last night I woke up to find DS had snuck into my bed; the only reason I woke up was because he'd decided to go back to his bed. It was very cute, if a bit worrying that I didn't wake up when he got in!

The menu does look a bit bats but DH has been wanting to eat at a Marcus Wareing restaurant for years. We had a booking at Petrus but DH had food poisoning that day. Bless him, he was hanging on to the toilet bowl whilst at the same time swearing he would be ok that evening. He wasn't, so this is compensation for 7 months of chemo and a missed dinner! I shall keep you all updated for vicarious dining purposes.

cafe, I'm goat sharpening again for your DS this time. I hope you can sort it out, that's horrid for you and your DS.

Anyone watching the London Marathon tomorrow? I'm going, got a couple of friends running including my best uni friend who now lives abroad, so I'll get to see her for the first time in ages. Plus lots of other mates, it's turned into quite a gathering! Now all I have to do is not fall over at the first sniff of a pint Grin .

BlueyDragon · 20/04/2013 22:14

Ohh, mini, matching notebook and accessories. Creates an illusion image of being in control. Like the Hitchhikers' Guide towel theory.

Are you a Cath Kidston sort of person, or more the Mont Blanc/Smythson area?

Minimammoth · 20/04/2013 22:29

Oo both, depending on mood. I have a little Cath note book in my bag for phone messages, lists and stuff. I like quirky and classy. I think it is about attempting to have some kind of control-which I haven't- see yesterday's meltdown.

BlueyDragon · 20/04/2013 22:41

I'd like an old fashioned blotter (and the antique desk to go with it. And the 19th century lady lifestyle to match, without having to be my husband's property and with the vote. Don't want much, me.).

Off to bed now, having removed DS from it. Cheeky boy was fast asleep in my bed and he didn't even wake up when I walked in, turned the lights on full, laughed out loud and then carted him back to bed.

Sleep well all.

MrsShrek3 · 20/04/2013 22:55

Grin bluey
I have also been to the pencil museum many many times - near parents house (and spent a fortune there on the way out thru the shop)Shock
very pleased mini doing better
kitty... asIF anyone knows the trick of children and sleep. If we did we'd be millionaires because we would have written the book and put She Who Shall Not Be Named out of businessGrin Wink

in the morning I'll be watching ds2 playing footy league match, might catch the latter part of the marathon on telly. He's currently giving me a running commentary on MOTD Hmm how he knows all that useless information is beyond meConfused

oh I need Wine (read [Port])Blush

jynier · 20/04/2013 23:37

Oh, well! I was one of those who was fooled by the troll today in "Relationships!" Why do people do this??? (It was OW has had H's baby. Probably been removed by now!)

MrsShrek3 · 20/04/2013 23:48
Shock It was very, umm, trolly. Sorry you got sucked in tho. my trollalarm went off at the title [cynical emoticon] The bumholes. why do they bother¿?Confused
jynier · 20/04/2013 23:57

There's another one on there now which could be a troll; on the other hand, could be a desperate woman genuinely seeking help! I'm not sure!

jynier · 21/04/2013 01:37

Thanks, all, for your kind thoughts; so desperately sorry for my friends' families but am too far away to help! Hope that all of you are ok.

It was a beautiful day here in CG; sort of enjoyed the sun and spent a while watching the birds. Mini, - envious of you and your goldfinch! They are so beautiful! We don't seem to have any sparrows here any more; bit odd!

Still hoping to see the meteor shower as the sky is very clear tonight.

SummerDad · 21/04/2013 01:39

hi jynier, looks like you are the only one alive awake Smile now.

OP posts:
jynier · 21/04/2013 01:55

Hi, Dad!- Where have you been?

SummerDad · 21/04/2013 02:08

Been a bit busy with some family stuff thanks for asking me how are you.

OP posts:
jynier · 21/04/2013 02:20

Hope that you're now completely recovered from the op! Must have been horrible for you!

  • Oi, you lot! Dad's here; I can't entertain him all on my own!!! Heeelp!

Sorry about that, Dad! Back now! They're all asleep but, never fear, I do have secret talents! Interested?

SummerDad · 21/04/2013 02:21

jynier that's intriguing, shall we go in private Wink

OP posts:
jynier · 21/04/2013 02:27

Hahaha!!! No need, Dad! I'm a little embarrassed now as I may have raised your hopes!

... you will be so amazed ...

Always need an audience!

SummerDad · 21/04/2013 02:30

won't say it didn't Grin. I am ok dear, tapered off the pain killers slowly, feel less disoriented now. Compared with what other people on here going through, my pain is nothing to be honest Smile.

OP posts:
SummerDad · 21/04/2013 02:33

The only thing which bothers me in life some times is the loneliness. There is no feeling like being loved and being wanted unconditionally, I guess. Does unconditional love really exist, not so sure about anything any more.
