Hi all. Smile Thanks for your lovely messages she slept until 230 but then I went in to check her and think I disturbed her. I in turn was woke. by a loud drunk man outside my window. She's got a temp of 38.4. It's gone up since she went to bed so that's worrying. Sad She absolutely hates having her temp taken (digital ear one) and gets into such a state which must raise her tempHmm

She's currently feeding on me, practically naked with the window open. She's very hot to touch on her head. neck and torso. I want to take her temp again but she's calm at the momentSad

Any advice? Shared experiences?

grapes and dad wishing your respective minichops a speedy recovery too Smile Bear

stars I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's birthday, that must be so very hard Thanks Glad you've got work though and sometimes these things can lead to more. Smile

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 22/03/2013 03:59

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 22/03/2013 04:01

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 22/03/2013 04:03

Sorry grapes, I see that tinygrapes is better now, that's good news. The temperatures are worrying I think Sad

Midwife99 · 22/03/2013 04:47

Hi kitty - I just woke up with women's flooding problems! Now sorted myself out! If DD is so hot despite medication sponge her down with tepid water & get lots of breastmilk into her. If you feel she's getting hotter & hotter despite all that call GP out of hours & get her seen. My DD did that aged 2 & had a febrile convulsion & we had to call an ambulance. It turned out to be tonsillitis. Keep us updated!!

Midwife99 · 22/03/2013 04:49

And Stars - you know I understand how you feel (we're on teen thread together for others' background)
It must be so hard being no contact on her 18th today Hmm

Midwife99 · 22/03/2013 04:51

MrsS you have alot on your plate right now lovely - I hope DS calms down & DH gets some support at work! Trouble is I bet being a man he's just keeping going rather than say he can't manage!

Midwife99 · 22/03/2013 04:52

Hi mini, dad & grapes!

Minimammoth · 22/03/2013 05:05

Morning, am awake early. Sorry to hear about work and dd stars .kitty hope she is ok.

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 22/03/2013 06:26

Thanks for the advice the midwife Smile I'm terrified of febrile convulsions even though all the literature says they aren't harmful- they are still convulsionsConfused I'm sorry your little chops had them, that must have been terrifying. Sad

Hi minimammoth, thank you.

She finally cooled down to the touch and fell asleep. She slept for an hour and then woke again with a very wet nappy; the forth wet nappy in 12 hrs, unusual at night that. Usually I would only change her once through the night. I've had to change hee trousers twice too. I haven't taken her temperature again as it upsets her so much and I can tell by touch that she it has reduced. Do you think I've done wrong there? She's just had her last dose of calpol allowed, lots of breast milk and has gone off to sleep again.

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 22/03/2013 06:29

Yes lovely kitty you have done just the right thing. She'll sleep on & off & no doubt be fully recovered by tea time (how do they do that?!!) you will be a frazzle however!! Smile

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 22/03/2013 11:33

Thank you so much for your support, themidwife minimammoth, Mrs, and grapes. We had a couple of hours more sleep in my bed. I used to take her into my bed all the time when she was younger but as she got older she began to associate it with playing, bouncing etc so it became the end of emergency cosleeping. It worked this morning though. not much appetite this morning but has just polished off a quarter honeydew melon.

Hope you all have good days today so deserving after supporting kitty and littlekitty Smile

Midwife99 · 22/03/2013 13:27

starsandunicorns · 22/03/2013 17:01

Not so grumpy as when I got back home I was able to get a parking space near the flat and nipped into hairdressers to see if I could get a app for tomorrow but lady said she could fit me there and then
Smile so ran back to flat ( 20 meters) and grap my change. Got nicely deforsted in the hairdressers

I have blizted the kitchen pulled one load out of washing manchine and bunged another in of course I needed to put the heating on to help the clothers dry
nothing to do with the fact I can see my breathe

Now waiting for my bacon to cook for a massive BLT for tea

Midwife99 · 22/03/2013 17:39
