I'm sorry though, it does sound to me that he wants you on call, was put out by the idea that you have your own life (did he had a wife installed until relatively recently?) and own sexual appetite and is now backtracking. The ball is in your court now to decide if what he is offering is good enough for you, no rush. I also would think twice about agreeing to go and stay next week and would take a step back whilst you think about it all.
