No text filth for me, not before meeting and even when established in a sexual relationship only occasionally, if at all.

48howdidthathappen · 18/01/2013 19:07

Juilette Bit difficult to get the low down when you pick em up on a night out Blush

watchoutforthatsnail · 18/01/2013 19:18

Now you come to mention it juliette, i think i might!!!

He said he really fancies me a few days ago. I think its pretty nautral to flirt when you fancy someone. We made 5 days of chatting without going there, so i dont think thats just what its about. The date was planned on monday....

JulietteMontague · 18/01/2013 19:21

48 if I really fancied someone, I would be straight in there too Grin

OhWesternWind · 18/01/2013 19:57

It's like Snape said though - what if they're awful in real life and you've said all those things? Awkward.

A bit of filth is great though.

watchoutforthatsnail · 18/01/2013 20:04

If hes awful in real life i leave as quick as i can. And blank it from my memory :)

It was only texts, no pics.

Sometimes caution needs to be thrown into the wind. It worked for me anyway.... ahem :)

Anyway hes text to say he hopes im not running for the hills now and that he didnt expect that to happen at all.

Its all good. I will be really surprised if hes awful in rl. I know you cant know these things but ive done so much dating, im not often wrong.

Snapespeare · 18/01/2013 20:46

Text filth does what it does. I am occasionally inspired to have a self-fumble (which is all very well for what it is...) but my expectations tend to be raised...and then cruelly dashed. Blokes I've Internet dated that i've swapped filth with and then subsequently shagged (mr lion, the prof) I've been dropped like a ton of bricks. Catweazle was hideous and therefore an exceotion, Blokes I haven't swapped text-filth with, I haven't shagged. I'm sure there's a complex mathematical equation herein. any text-as-'free'-wank-line, I have equally benefitted from, so I don't really have a problem with it. For what it is...which is basically providing an equitable service without having actually met someone....which is why I now steer clear.

Snapespeare · 18/01/2013 20:47

...and I really hope he's lovely watch. Sorry, not meaning to piss on your parade. :).

KirstyWirsty · 18/01/2013 20:52

Mr Cheeky and I sent each other some downright filthy texts before we DTD .. Go watch

watchoutforthatsnail · 18/01/2013 21:01

Nope, im fully aware. Ive been in the dating game far too long to not know what im doing.

Im not after casual sex or a one night thing. I wont be sleeping with him anytime soon ( if the first date even happens, and then if a second does... odds getting smaller and smaller here )

Ive enjoyed chatting to him for a while, today was unexpected and more led by me... and i got what i wanted...tis what it is. I dont have any more nor any less expectations because of it

Scrazy · 18/01/2013 21:19

I'm sure he will be just as fit in RL, Watch.

Someone gave me a copy of 'Why Men Love Bitches' and read one chapter so far, it isn't teaching me anything I don't already know so cannot be bothered to read on. It's reasonably good advice though, suppose it depends on what standpoint you start at.

Not that I've had that much success or I wouldn't be single now but the longer lasting relationships I've had have begun with me doing the stuff they recommend without knowingly doing it iyswim. The flash in the pan ones might have had me doing the wrong stuff for whatever reason so it makes some sense. Meh!

KirstyWirsty · 18/01/2013 22:22

scrazy I liked the book .. Quite amusing but thought most of it was common sense really

wolfandi · 19/01/2013 00:37

So...Mr Speedy and I seemed to be doing well. Been seeing each other for about 6ish weeks, he had a terrible family tragedy in that time and we were in close contact theoughout. All appeared to be going well and although we hadn't had 'the talk', he'd made it clear that he wouldn't dream of dating more than one person at a time.

Until.

I get a message from him on pof, chatting me up and asking me out. I don't have a photo on my profile and he obviously forgot it was me. I politely replied, pointing out that it would probably have been easier to text me, and wishing him luck in finding who/what he was looking for. I haven't heard a word since. I sooo wish I could have seen his face when he received my reply....

Git.

Scrazy · 19/01/2013 00:40

wolf, so sorry, are you OK?

Scrazy · 19/01/2013 00:45

Kirsty, I might read on when I've nowt else to do.

Had a Skype interview tonight (Mercury). Was quite good, nice looking bloke and a decent conversation considering that my skype runs slow. He seemed interested in what I wanted out of a relationship, which is weird as I haven't had anyone who wants to ask me that for a few years.

We continued chatting off skype, so he must have quite like what he saw, but then got a little lost in translation, he didn't get me :(

wolfandi · 19/01/2013 01:02

Scrazy, I'm fine - thank you for asking though. The overriding thought in my mind is his thud of realisation when he read my reply and realised he'd fucked up in magnificent style. It makes me smirk a little every time I think of it! It was also an excuse to eat a lot of chocolate. I'll miss the Coffee. Probably not as much as he will though!

How do you find doing Skype interviews? Being a technophobe, the skype would stress me more than an actual meeting!

lubeybooby · 19/01/2013 02:32

wolfandi Shock !! what a total knobweasel!

reminds of BoR last year.

KirstyWirsty · 19/01/2013 08:25

wolfandi better to find out now I suppose .. Why are some blokes such twats??

Snapespeare · 19/01/2013 08:53

wolf huge round of applause for handling this with such grace. His face must have been a picture.

48howdidthathappen · 19/01/2013 09:15

Wolf Bloody hell Shock Would of loved to have been a fly on his wall when the penny dropped.

You have dealt with it in style and chocolate. High Five Smile

OhWesternWind · 19/01/2013 09:18

Wolf what an arse. You handled it so well, brilliantly in fact.

Nothing rearranged after yesterday with LM and he's not being very responsive to texts. I know what's going on - he has told me some stuff and now he's backing away into his cave. I know him well enough to realise what he's doing but I am fed up with it. Sent him a text last night saying lets have a good week next week, just go out and have fun and a few laughs, but no reply. Sometimes I think he's more fucked up than I am.

On the sort of plus side - he's told me that he's told his ex he wants to sort out the arrangements with their dcs "now he's found someone and wants to take her for weekends away". Yes very good but he's not actually asked me! Unless that was asking me?

I was doing really well till yesterday but will pick myself up. I'm going to text or phone later today to ask him if he wants to meet up on Sunday and will see how that goes.

Fed up. Who's got the wet fish?

DaydreamDolly · 19/01/2013 09:28

Hi all, Wolf, unbelievable. So disappointing. Hope you're ok. Has he still not replied??

Had date 2 with Mr Slow on Thursday night... we have such a great connection! Had a nice snog too, best snog I've had in years and years. I think we are meeting for lunch today, but seeing as he text goodnight last night and I replied, and are therefore the last person to have texted, I'm steadfastly refusing to text and waiting for him to :-) Silly I know but I don't want to look too keen too early. I really really like him, and it seems he feels the same Smile

I have no children until 6pm today so am very much hoping the snow doesn't stop us meeting up.

lubeybooby · 19/01/2013 10:01

OWW, he wants to take you on weekends away, not directly asking but y'know, a massive hint :o [wetfish]

So, everyone

Not heard from TT this week apart from a couple of texts Monday where the ball was left in his court.

I suspect... don't know, but suspect he isn't relishing the prospect of coming over here all the time. Thing is that can't happen anyway as DD is often either here or off out at short notice. Next time I have a free house as far as I know will be feb half term. The other thing is if he invited me to his I'd be off like a shot.. The OTHER thing is he hasn't accepted the friend request I sent right in front of him last time he was here (fb)

Shall I text him and let him know that I am perfectly happy to do the trek over to his sometime (hint hint, more sex please before I next have a free house!) and hopefully gain insight on whether he actually has something to hide (not accepting fb makes me a bit suspicious! but then he was able to stay over twice at reasonably short notice so Confused )

Or shall I just leave it?

I'm feeling rather nosy actually so I quite fancy option one... but part of me think 'meh, you obviously aren't all that bothered... fuck off then'

lubeybooby · 19/01/2013 10:05

Oooh Dolly good luck today then :o

OhWesternWind · 19/01/2013 10:07

Lubey I'd try one more text and see what that brings. Fingers crossed. Half term is a long time to wait!
