Thought I take the liberty of starting us off again ...

Oh I can go in Waterstone's to buy a book for someone and emerge 2 hours later with 4 hardbacks for me, I'm even more dangerous with the Kindle - like Kat Slater let loose in a lipgloss shop.

OhLittleTownofWesternWind · 22/12/2012 15:47

Book shops are dangerous places ... I like it that LM's a reader but it wouldn't be a deal breaker as long as they were intelligent and interested in the world.

Got more drinking happening in half an hour, old friends coming round.

Had a lovely night last night with LM and he stayed over at mine as dcs were at my mum's. One bad note when he told me his ex has said she still loves him and wants to try again, he put the phone down apparently. But why tell me?? Will say to him I just do not want to hear stuff like that. I don't know, I said to him it must be tempting just to get the family thing back (this being on my mind a lot at the moment) but he said his family was just him and his dcs then muttered something about "and in the future my partner" or similar then said he shouldn't have said it. Also said he has three new year's resolutions, two about hobbies and one about sorting his head out about women. No idea at all what to think about any of this.

Seeing him tomorrow but only very briefly so I think I'll just leave it for now, see how we go next year.

Yogagirl17 · 22/12/2012 16:01

MsA Kindle is indeed even more dangerous than bookstores!! Once you have an account set up with Amazon you can buy stuff without ever having to open your purse + instant gratification even in the middle of the night = Dangerous indeed. Love the free samples too.

BantaBaby · 22/12/2012 16:03

OWW I guess I've always equated an interest in the world with reading about it, but that's just slightly close minded of me I suppose.

As far as LM goes, and what he said about his ex, I would think its a good thing he told you. He trusts you enough to tell you about stuff that's important to him - and even if he wouldn't consider getting back with her for a second, the fact she asked has still got to be a significant thing in his head unless he's made of stone. So he's open enough to tell you the important things, he's reassuring you that its not going to happen and he's moved on, and then mentions the future partner thing. I think it's good he's being open with you.

Sorry in advance for TMI. Mr Fucked up has just texted 'would you like a festive lick' WTF Shock Ignore. Ignore. Ignore. So tempted to say I don't partake of decaff!

SevenSnapespearesSwimming · 22/12/2012 16:41

What would be particularly 'festive' about the aforementioned lick? Is he going to drink a pint of baileys?

notthegrinch · 22/12/2012 16:44

48 well I'd quite like a festive lick if anyone's offering Xmas Grin
But yes, just ignore it Xmas Smile.

I'm in with Mr Ironman, some moscow mules, hot Coffee and no cheese products.

As I am now in some sort of actual relationship I would like to live vicariously through you lot......

Updates please, what's everyone got on tonight/lately datewise?

48howdidthathappen · 22/12/2012 16:44

Perhaps he is planning on wearing a red nose.Grin

notthegrinch · 22/12/2012 16:50

'wearing a red nose'? Hahahahahahaha

JulietteMontague · 22/12/2012 17:16

He's nice Shock. Tiny but nice.

Yogagirl17 · 22/12/2012 17:23

LOL @ a 'festive lick' & 'wearing a red nose'! Xmas Grin

I'm taking the kids round to a friend's house tonight for a 'festive drink' but nothing on the cards datewise.

BantaBaby · 22/12/2012 17:28

How tiny juliette?

MsArsebiscuit · 22/12/2012 17:43

Sitting in the interval at the panto, laughing my arse off at 'festive lick' ( I may just be jealous )

48howdidthathappen · 22/12/2012 17:44

Oh Juliette A nice small package Smile

OhLittleTownofWesternWind · 22/12/2012 18:25

I want a festive lick!! Could it have been autocorrect as my phone doesn't like writing "lick" and you have to be very insistent with it.

Thank you Bant for reassuring male perspective.

LM has agreed to come for a meal with to be rigorously inspected by my oldest friend and her husband after Christmas. Brave man. Think he must be vaguely serious to subject himself to that ...

Juliette tiny in what regard?

SevenSnapespearesSwimming · 22/12/2012 19:07

Sodding ex was meant to be coming for Xmas tonight. DD has swapped a shift a work so she can be here, kids all hyper and he's decided to go and stay at his sisters tonight, because his (lovely) mum and dad have a lot of parcels to carry. Really cannot be arsed with this. If he gets pissed (likely) & tries to shag me (the two tend to go hand in hand) then he'll need to find his way back to his sisters for the rest of the festive season.

Grrrrrr!

ike1 · 22/12/2012 19:18

What a pain it is Snape....fully recovered my adult self now....spent the afternoon in the cinema with the kids. Hoping to smuggle my 8 yr old into the cinema this hols to see The Hobbit it appears to be a 12A tho. Anyhow gonna go into town on Xmas Eve to treat myself to a load of books ..my first degree was in English and Drama which kinda put me off reading for a few years but my love of literature is back with a vengeance

SevenSnapespearesSwimming · 22/12/2012 19:23

Started chatting to a chap on OKC yesterday (because I am BORED & horny) who had no photos, he initiated contact, I chatted along. i just called him on stating someone he'd been chatting to had no pics.... So he sent oics (i didnt ask...) And he's actually rather good looking. Maybe this is a ploy to hook people in... Maybe I'm overthinking it. he lives too far away anyway (another one who lives 'on the coast')

JulietteMontague · 22/12/2012 19:30

Very.

JulietteMontague · 22/12/2012 19:32

Still nice. But I've had 2 glasses. And I don't drink. Extremely tiny. Pls tell me this doesn't mean tiny package?

BantaBaby · 22/12/2012 19:34

juliette are you sure you didn't go to see the Hobbit by mistake?

Yogagirl17 · 22/12/2012 19:46

Juliette take heart - short stature does not necessarily mean tiny package! Wink

Ike - XH took my 9 yo to see the Hobbit don't think the cinemas care if they're with an adult. He liked it but it was very long!!

Snape - bah humbug to unreliable exs! Angry

I am bored and horny but not quite enough to go back on OKC or POF

48howdidthathappen · 22/12/2012 19:48

No idea juliette Mr Fucked up was 6'3 but ahem average package.

notthegrinch · 22/12/2012 19:54

juliette believe me, the small ones can really surprise you Wink

JulietteMontague · 22/12/2012 22:40

Most of my partners have been 6 ft ers. Only 2 mini men and both were ahem, in proportion. Last one was a couple of months ago. Now a teensy bit pissed. For those who asked, 5'6 tiny. On my way home.
