Scatty although they should definitely come to you, there is something really good about going to them so you just arrive looking fabulous and then get entertained Grin

Bantababy has been hurrying up the Artist's chimney for the last few nites...

48howdidthathappen · 05/12/2012 18:47

juliette that is what I do, only takes me 15 minutes to get there thoughGrin Wouldn't travel 11/2 hours for Coffee, no matter how good.

bantamrooster · 05/12/2012 18:49

If she says she wants them, Tinsel, I'll say not with me, and go back to Match.com.

I'm young enough to spend a few years with someone a couple of years younger than me who wants to have kids, but I don't really want them when I faintly hear alarm bells in the back of my head. Alarms can be drowned out somewhat with good Coffee, but I'm not stupid. I want to have the conversation sooner rather than later so I can strategically withdraw if I need to before mistakes are made.

And as soon as the conversation is had, I go. Until then, I keep the condoms with me at all times.. The Coffee is very good, although ironically she makes really bad coffee..

ike1 · 05/12/2012 19:00

....the line 'stategically withdraw if I need to before mistakes are made' has a real dual meaning in your circs Bant

FlorentinePogen · 05/12/2012 19:04

BantaBaby, has the stinging glans and testicular bruising subsided ? Everything back to ticketyboo order ?

Advise fellow daters please Smile
Started dating a man from POF 1 month ago.All was going well he went abroad on a trip, txt me every day came straight round from airport at the weekend.Left saturday pm,then just didnt hear from him.
I phoned him monday night,he was cold on phone but said we would get together this evening. Havent heard from him.
So is that it? Should I txt him ?
Or has he just disappeared.I find this the hardest part of OD,people appear and disappear so quickly. Or is it me expecting too much too soon ?

lulubellaboozle · 05/12/2012 19:57

jaffacake you are definitely not expecting too much too soon. It sounds like for whatever reason he has changed his mind and hasn't got the balls to actually tell you and is hoping by his silence and coldness that you will get the hint. It's really hurtful and unkind behaviour, I think we all understand that sometimes one person just doesn't feel the same as the other but for god's sake why can't people have the decency to just be upfront and explain rather than leave you wondering. I hope I'm wrong, I don't think if you text you will get a reply which may make you feel worse ..... but sometimes it feels like you have to just to try and get an explanation.

lulubellaboozle · 05/12/2012 20:09

A question about texting .... the last time I dated the mobile phone wasn't in existence!!

Mr Ex Army and I started off dating about 3 months ago and prolific texting, emailing and telephone calls. Pages and pages of text each day throughout the day. We both said after a couple of weeks, it was great, a whirlwind but practically completely unsustainable. So now, we see each other every weekend, depending on his work commitments (we live 1.5 hours apart), he is changing jobs in a couple of weeks and will have all his weekends free and we will also be able to see each other during the week as his hours will significantly reduce. We talk every single night on the phone, from half an hour to an hour. But the texts have dropped right off .... he texts me most mornings first thing to say hi, and then a couple during the day/evening until we chat, but they are mostly prompted by me, with him replying. The replies are fine, kisses and hugs but brief and nothing like the numbers or intensity of the first couple of weeks.

Last week, it didn't bother me at all, but since all the shit at the weekend with mediation and my STBXH I feel myself holding back from texting him in case it feels like I am pestering him. I know everyone is different but I like getting texts throughout the day but I don't want him to send them out of a sense of duty AIBU?

Dog - the man is very good looking. Alarm bells are ringing in my ears over the fact that all the pics are fuzzy, he may well have pilfered them...

Lulu - The texting thing is a topic close to my heart at the moment! For me, it's just not possible to constantly have conversation by text and I would prefer to keep something for when we meet up. If he's replying and speaking to you everyday then I would be happy with that. However, if it's really bothering you then you need to tell him about it.

Jaffa - that is the OD recurring nightmare, the disappearing man. If I were you I'd try calling him but be prepared for the worst Sad I just can't believe how callous online daters are with other people's feelings!

I'm feeling a miffed with the whole OD scene again today. Mr Tall is still texting and I'm looking forward to seeing him on Sat, but I think I'm holding back because I'm expecting it all to go wrong.

Nomorepain · 05/12/2012 20:25

Whatdoes - he looks gorgeous!! Fear he may be too good to be true though. He looks older than 28 too!!

KirstyWirsty · 05/12/2012 20:32

Off to meet theCop tonight .. Will send loo update Grin

Snapespeare · 05/12/2012 20:34

scatty I think he's an absolute arsehole actually. :) the manner in which I have been treated is not acceptable. I was musing today that the current state would have happened anyway as I was a surrogate girlfriend who he hung out with when he wasn't in a relationship...but when he was seeing someone I was dropped like a particularly unattractive brick. We wouldn't be talking at the moment anyway due to the advent of new-girl. The difference now is that when it goes tits-up, I won't be skulking around on the sidelines being all ego-strokey accommodating. I retracted my friend request on fb last night. His loss.

bantababy Wink I think there are people that you kinda know if you'd have children with them. I never saw myself as a mother (I loathe children!) before I met DCs dad, it was just the most perfect love that I wanted to make something wonderful, half him and half me. If that isn't on the cards with la artista, then you need to finish it to give her the opportunity to have kids with someone.

I'm in the daily mail tomorrow. Am expecting glut of marriage proposals forthwith.

JulietteMontague · 05/12/2012 20:36

Whatdoes real. Sounds ok, he's obviously on the rigs.

Movingforward123 · 05/12/2012 20:38

Snape Those tattoos are just amazing. I'm addicted to watching LA Ink at the moment - what will I do when I have to go back to work and can't sit around watching daytime telly all day!

Lulu I agree the more limited texting is probably normal, esp as you're still speaking to him every day. Doesn't sound worrying to me.

Dog He's cute but fuzzy photos, jedward hair and photos of himself with some very hot girl? Not sure to be honest.

Kirsty Good luck.

jaffacake2 · 05/12/2012 21:09

Have sent him a text to say that I am now off to the pub with a mate as he must be working late.
Am not going out at all, sitting here feeling sad but dont want him to leave with the upper hand.
Not sure if I want to go through this again,it hurts and just reminds me of all the abuse I had through my marriage.
Does it get any better?

Jaffagood for you, give your phone to a friend if you start thinking about texting. Yes it will get better because this time you are not sitting about letting this one have control over your life so it shows your radar is working well.

What there is rarely a good reason for not getting in touch. The worst that happens is that they've left their phone somewhere, but most people who were keen to see someone would either go collect the phone of find another way. How many times has someone really been kidnapped by aliens.

Mind you, isn't the Zombie Apocalypse due sometime this month?

BreakOutTheTinselSantasAComing · 05/12/2012 21:29

WhatDoes He is FIT! Pictures could be fuzzy if they're from a mobile, and zoomed in/cropped. Pass him down the Yorkshire end when you're done, I wouldn't mind a crack!

Just told the texter to chill, after leaving my phone for 2 hours and coming back to 3 texts. From someone I started chatting to yesterday. He spat his dummy out that I wasn't interested, even though I'd suggested meeting, and that he was only trying to get to know me. Told him thats what meeting someone is for Xmas Smile. Can't be doing with a klingon, they do nothing for me.

BreakOutTheTinselSantasAComing · 05/12/2012 21:32

Oh, and one of those texts was 'wuu2'. Think that may have been the straw that did it.
