I found some knickers that are not mine. Can anyone come up with an explanation ?

OK. H just back from a weekend away with his friends, doing a sporting activity.

I found some women's knickers that are not mine, and not my DC's, openly left out on our bedroom dressing table.

Has anybody any ideas of what could be an appropriate explanation for this ? At the moment, I am struggling to see one. I am asking him about it later when the DC are in bed.

No other signs, or history, of playing away, btw. Just this.

Sorry!have read it all now.he wouldn,t have eft gem out if dodgy although therefrom 2 weeks is odd. Do you suspect anything otherwise?

Challen · 06/08/2012 23:08

Nooo eclectic there's no sarcasm intended anywhere! well maybe a little on the LiveWorld point, but certainly not directed at the OP or anyone else on here. It's curious, but the likeliest explanation is the one offered by the OP, that her hubby has underwear dating back two decades in his drawer, so maybe pulled a pair out and left them on the side thinking they were the OP's.

Pesky type format makes everything a little open to misinterpretation. Apologies if you feel sarked' at, OP. Not the case at all!

EclecticShock · 06/08/2012 23:12

Yes challen, text format does make things open to interpretation.

doinmummy · 06/08/2012 23:18

I really dont believe it's anything suspicious at all.

Your thread reminded me of the mystery knickers tale in this blog

MadonnaKebab · 07/08/2012 01:57

DD's friends jeans get washed and a pair of her Mum's nicks somehow get inside the leg.
Friend puts them on and comes round to yours.
They fall out on DDs bedroom floor
DD finds them later , thinks they must be yours and puts them on your dressing table.
Ask DD?

Graciescotland · 07/08/2012 02:01

I once came home with random knickers when I stayed in a hotel, they must of been in the back of the drawer and got mixed in with my stuff. I found them when I unpacked.

If he's been away they could of just got mixed up with his stuff, either been left behind or belong to friend's wife. I'd just ask.

StuntGirl · 07/08/2012 02:13

Jesus christ, what a non-thread Hmm

LordOfThe5Rings · 07/08/2012 03:02

The mystery may never be solved!

HarlettOScara · 07/08/2012 04:59

Anyone in the house use a gym?

DP used to go running at lunchtimes with several work colleagues and then shower/change in the office changing rooms. On more than one occasion he scooped up colleagues' boxers/t-shirts with his towel and kit and didn't notice until I found them in the wash.

Malificence · 07/08/2012 08:16

There's a "found knickers that aren't mine " thread every so often on here, it's like the poo troll, only with knickers. Wink

ImperialBlether · 07/08/2012 09:45

Harlett, so they'd all take fresh clothes to change into and he'd pick up the others accidentally?

HarlettOScara · 07/08/2012 09:53

Imperial, they had fresh undies so they could change out of the sweaty ones they had run in when putting their work clothes back on.

Mumsyblouse · 07/08/2012 09:58

There is a pair of unclaimed men's pants circulating in our house at the moment, I assumed they were my husband's but he says not, and the two other relations I thought might have left them here (e.g. when decorating and washing clothes) say they are not theirs either.

Just as well my husband is not of a suspicious turn of mind!

ABitOfAPuzzle · 07/08/2012 10:05

MadonnaKebab, DD knows nothing about them and they really are not "teenage" knickers

Gracie, I did ask

Just as well you are not, either Grin

EmilieFloge · 07/08/2012 10:13

I just want to add my agreement that size 14 sloggis are a normal size 10, or 12...I'm a 10 and have to buy a 14 in those. And they are not granny pants!

they're the only ones that fit my probably odd shaped bottom without disappearing...I was overjoyed when I discovered them.

So stop saying big sloggi pants! They are small!

NotGeoffVader · 07/08/2012 10:28

I'm just curious as to how so many people have had random underwear turn up. Do you think there is some sort of 'wormhole' they all fall through? Bit like putting a pair of socks in the washing machine and only one coming back out?

ShowOfHands · 07/08/2012 10:31

When I was a teen, everybody wore sloggis. I'm only 31 now and lots of good friends swear by them. And my super fit, slim friend who is a size 10 wears them in a 14.

They aren't big ol' apple catchers.

Houseofplain · 07/08/2012 11:47

I'm sorry. But in the context of this thread they are Bridget knickers. Sloggies are workout/home slouching type nicks.

Not what you'd wear for am illicit weekend away.....especially "bleached" ones.

Harlett my dh does that he goes for a long run every lunch and they all come back and shower and change, with yes clean boxers. If one more pair of muddy stinky men's socks comes home. I'll be saving them and dropping them into his work

AlfalfaMum · 07/08/2012 12:47

NotGeoff I have a disturbing memory of a random pair of Ann Summers knickers turning up when I was with my ex, which he breezily explained away Hmm I found out he was having an affair with a woman from work a month or so later. There was an Ann Summers shop across the road from their workplace..

We've since had more innocent incidences of Phantom Knicker Phenomenon, though Grin

SerenaT28 · 07/08/2012 13:05

LOL @ doninmummy

For what it's worth, I think he wouldn't have put them on the dressing table if he was playing away, as he's likely to be very careful about stuff like that, i.e- if he found some knickers in his bag and there was any question of doubt about who's they were, in his mind, he'd likely err on the side of caution and bin them!

I'm sure there's a very amusing and reasonable explanation, it being a lads sporty weekend away and all :)

chipmonkey · 07/08/2012 13:10

I once found a pair of mens boxers in our laundry, waaay too small for dh and neither he nor I had been having an affair with a small man. Still to this day don't know where they came from.

JustFabulous · 07/08/2012 13:10

I wonder if anyone found my lovely new black bra I inexplicably lost in a Rome hotel???

leguminous · 07/08/2012 13:23

We've got a pair of XXL white boxers kicking around the house. Husband has a medium sized arse. I have not been entertaining large men behind his back, and I don't think he has either. I suspect he either brought them home from his dad's by mistake or a guest accidentally left them here. I first found them in MY underwear drawer, freshly washed, with not a scoob how they got there.
