I found some knickers that are not mine. Can anyone come up with an explanation ?

OK. H just back from a weekend away with his friends, doing a sporting activity.

I found some women's knickers that are not mine, and not my DC's, openly left out on our bedroom dressing table.

Has anybody any ideas of what could be an appropriate explanation for this ? At the moment, I am struggling to see one. I am asking him about it later when the DC are in bed.

No other signs, or history, of playing away, btw. Just this.

I dunno, stained old rags, left out in open view do not scream sexy, illicit, ow type relations.

RedWhiteAndBlu · 06/08/2012 20:21

Used as in used and clean, or used as in used and not clean?

I agree, if they have been left out, that he has aquired them by accident somehow - someone stuffed them in the wrong bag, or they were mixed up in kit, and he has either thought they are yours or is intending to ask around and give them back to the owner. And how embarrassing for her!!

Just ask him.

Why are people not seeing this as suspicious?

Maybe he finds them more supportive?

One time I was doing the washing and found a mans vest that wasn't one of dp's. Oh, I thought, he's bought a new vest. I washed it,folded it and put it in his vest drawer.

A couple of days later dp was getting dressed and came downstairs fuming about 'who's vest is this? Because it's not mine!' Shock

That took some explaining! To this day I have no clue where that vest came from and I think dp is still a bit Hmm about it. Grin

If it's a boys sporting thing - most likely a prank and he isnt hiding them - just ask him

doinmummy · 06/08/2012 20:23

Because he left them out for OP to see. If he was guilty of anything he'd have hidden/chucked them.

ABitOfAPuzzle · 06/08/2012 20:24

There could certainly be more to go ewwww about than having a carefully folded up pair of knckers in my (large) dressing gown pocket. I am still thinking there is a good explanation for this. Just not seeing it yet.

Are you sure they are womens? Slogging do men's too.

I think of Sloggi as granny-type knickers too. Maybe they hired a granny stripogram

ABitOfAPuzzle · 06/08/2012 20:25

Clean but not new, IYSWIM

KissMyEmbroideryHoop · 06/08/2012 20:25

It does sound like he's collected a pair up by accident. Old Sloggis aren't what you leave about in the hotel room of a new shag!

doinmummy · 06/08/2012 20:25

Ask him now. I'm dying to know.

RedWhiteAndBlu · 06/08/2012 20:26

An unknown tea towel appeared in our tea towel drawer.

I have no idea where it came from, or how it could have got there.

TheHairyBaker · 06/08/2012 20:26

When I had been dating my now husband for over a year, I found a pair of mens y fronts in my drawer. They were not my husbands, and I'm certain not an exes. To this day (6 or so years later) i have no idea who they belonged to or why they'd suddenly appeared in one of my drawers. Just one of those strange things. Thankfully my boyfriend was trusting enough to take my word for it. Please don't assume a sinister explanation.

ABitOfAPuzzle · 06/08/2012 20:26

Sloggi do men's ? I didn't know that. If that is the explanation, he must have bought them this weekend and has acquired the type of vaginal secretions that bleach gussets.

Perhaps you've got a ghost who likes comfy nik naks

ABitOfAPuzzle · 06/08/2012 20:27

He isn't here just now and the DC are around

RedWhiteAndBlu · 06/08/2012 20:27

Sloggis are good for sport. They don't ride up, or leave bad lines under lycra.

ImperialBlether · 06/08/2012 20:27

But men and women have different changing rooms. Presumably he had his own room or shared with a man.

I agree that them being out in the open is better, but OP, you should have left them there and waited to see what happened to them!

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 06/08/2012 20:27

Oh they are clean?

Thats not so bad!

Houseofplain · 06/08/2012 20:28

There is a tone to your posts op....you don't think it's innocent do you?

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 06/08/2012 20:28

Maybe they fell out of a mans bag in the mans changing room and your dh picked them up by mistake and shoved them in, then thought they were yours when he got home?
