I found some knickers that are not mine. Can anyone come up with an explanation ?

OK. H just back from a weekend away with his friends, doing a sporting activity.

I found some women's knickers that are not mine, and not my DC's, openly left out on our bedroom dressing table.

Has anybody any ideas of what could be an appropriate explanation for this ? At the moment, I am struggling to see one. I am asking him about it later when the DC are in bed.

No other signs, or history, of playing away, btw. Just this.

I found a pair of black lacy pants once and did go a bit mental at my husband, until I realised they were mine Blush.

Also found a pair of men's glasses the other week on my bedroom floor. They were actually my husbands, he had them about 8 years ago. How the hell they made it from wherever they'd been hiding to the bedroom floor, I have no clue!

AgentProvocateur · 06/08/2012 20:47

I don't think you've anything to worry about. Black sloggis are period pants - not passion pants Wink

peedoffbird · 06/08/2012 20:48

cat brought them in from someone's garden?

chipsandmushypeas · 06/08/2012 20:48

Very odd. I would be suspicious, maybe he meant to take them with him/hide but forgot and is currently shitting himself. Can't see how they innocently came home with him especially used knickers.

flubba · 06/08/2012 20:49

Do you the think the cat wore them on its head peedoffbird ? :o

KittieCat · 06/08/2012 20:49

I found random pants down the back of one of our radiators about three years after we moved in...

DontmindifIdo · 06/08/2012 20:50

I wouldn't assume affair - I would like to think that if DH was ever stupid/brave enough to stray, he could find himself a woman who wears a better class of pants for passionate encounters...

I would assume he picked them up by accident. They aren't 'dirty weekend' pants they are 'weekend getting dirty digging up the garden' pants.

I have in the past acquired one t-shirt, one shirt & two, yes two, pairs of men's shoes with no apparent owner. Shirt turned out to be my dad's, one pair of the shoes a friend who'd stayed with us 6 months before. The t-shirt & other pair of shoes are still ownerless! I am clearly a klepto- with an untidy house! Luckily DH did not conclude I was shagging another man at any stage!

Novia · 06/08/2012 20:52

Ooh -peedoffbird - good call re: cat dragged them in! My sister's cat used to make a game of jumping up and bringing home knickers she'd stolen from next door's washing line. She once brought a full length pink feather boa from somewhere too...!

mummybookworm · 06/08/2012 20:52

Was he golfing? The only reason I ask is that my Dad uses any old rag/tea towel to polish his clubs. Might he have borrowed someone's "old rag/inadvertent knickers"?

Cherubim · 06/08/2012 20:54

I'm pretty sure it's innocent. No man having an affair would leave the knickers out for you to find so obviously.

VicWilcox · 06/08/2012 20:54

Waves at MorrisZapp Grin

I used to find a strange pair of pants amongst my own every few years. But were always very non-descript cotton sloggi types that I assumed came somehow from my mother, who did indeed wear those sorts of undergarment!

Guiltypleasures001 · 06/08/2012 20:55

did he put his undies in a draw when there, when packing they might have been in the draw already, left behind by previous occupant, he grabbed them with his undies and they went in the bag too.

ABitOfAPuzzle · 06/08/2012 20:59

he is home, but dc are around

he has been upstairs and unpacked his bag, now watching telly with us

talking normally, as am I and will do so until I have reason not to

we don't have a cat

he travelled with male friends in his own car to the hotel, all male group

there could have been women staying there also, of course

he shared a room (he said when he got back last night) with his mate who is the biggest gobshite in the world who would take great delight in dropping him any shit (I think....nothing like this has ever happened before). Or perhaps he would enjoy having one over on my H, who knows

anyway, I am thinking he picked them up by mistake (erm, how??) and he left them out as he thought they were mine

for now

I am sorry to keep you all on tenterhooks. I know these "hold your breath" threads are irritating.

OP posts:
Houseofplain · 06/08/2012 21:05

I dont think many are holding their breath tbh. I think many presume it's innocent. They are stained sloggies after all.

Malificence · 06/08/2012 21:07

For god's sake just ask him !!

Sockitandsee · 06/08/2012 21:09

This is an odd thread! My DH is my closest friend as much as anything , It wouldn't occur to me not to ask him !

Selks · 06/08/2012 21:10

So are you going to ask him??

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 06/08/2012 21:10

Can't you just say you want a word in the kitchen ? Confused

ABitOfAPuzzle · 06/08/2012 21:13

Yes, I am going to ask him

when my dc is not sitting right next to me (and they have very good hearing)

it is more than likely innocent most of you say, so no reason to make a big drama out of it Smile

OP posts:
Sockitandsee · 06/08/2012 21:14

So why are you ? Hmm

fluffyraggies · 06/08/2012 21:14

I must say it would be the first thing out of my mouth when he got in tbh!

"Who, exactly, is the owner of the knickers!?"

DH would ask the same if the situation were reversed.

ABitOfAPuzzle · 06/08/2012 21:14

thanks everyone, btw, I am grateful for your suggestions and support

GotMyGoat · 06/08/2012 21:15
