His 'holidays' in bloody Thailand

Name change.

I'm single. I've been involved in an on/off fairly casual thing with this guy for 3 years. He goes to the Far East about 4 times a year. Turns out that he goes to Bangkok and somewhere else in Thailand...I've only just found this out, he's never mentioned Thailand usually says he's going to Malaysia and/or Singapore but doesn't talk about his trip when he gets back home.

Can there be any innocent reason why a single man in his mid 40's goes to Bangkok 4 times a year ? On his own? And if it's all innocent (yea yea) why not just tell me the truth about where he goes?

I know I need to get checked for STI's. I am going to die of embarassment a woman of my age going in there, are these clinics full of 16 year olds?

But my main question here is, would anyone else feel like I do? I feel like I've lost all respect for him as a man. He's a horrible repulsive creature doing this. I feel dirty myself. I feel as if he must hate women.

Looks to me as now the Radfems have been shown the door, it's Larry's and Chairmans turn now.

I don't agree with their views, but they seem to me to be entitled to have them. Not sure I'd want to be somewhere where everyone agrees all the time.

Who next? Some posters seemed pretty keen to get stuck into Pan.

I'm interested in MNHQs response to this, as it will define what can be said to posters.

babyheaves · 06/07/2012 09:35

"using"

Thats the word you see. USING prostitutes, as if they were some kind of commodity to be taken advantage of, not living, breathing human beings with the same rights as you.

MrsChemist · 06/07/2012 09:35

Really? So because they are Thai prostitutes it's fair game to abuse them ?Hmm

That's so fucking offensive.

Why did you put quotation marks around real women larry?

Pan was so obvious you were joking.

Feel so sad for these girls Sad They really aren't viewed as human by these monsters are they? In fact I doubt these ugly creeps think beyond themselves anyway.

larrygrylls · 06/07/2012 09:40

Baby,

I just used the normal term in the English language for a transaction with a prostitute. What would you like me to say without entering into a judgment I don't agree with. Not all prostitutes are exploited and even for some that are (especially in countries with no welfare state) it is the least bad choice for them.

I am not going to say that every time someone has sex with a prostitute it is rape, as it is not. Nor is it necessarily abusive.

What neutral term would you like? Or do you feel that prostitution should not exist (male or female)? Again that position is reasonable, but it is not vile or awful to disagree with it, as I do.

EverybodyKnows · 06/07/2012 09:40

Larry - your so-called ''mainstream'' views are downright vile , they have no place here.

Shirley,

I used quotation marks because it is a silly term. All women are real, aren't they. It is tautological.

I think it is anything but a silly term - it's trying to get rapists to see that the people they are raping are actual, real human beings.

I don't know why I'm egaging with you anyway TBH, if I met someone who held the sort of views, and spoke in the sort of way that you do about women in real life, I would definitely decide I didn't really need to listen to that sort of twisted thinking and turn my back on them.

As would all of the people I have in my life, men and women.

runningforthebusinheels · 06/07/2012 09:45

And Larry, if you think it's only 10 or 12 people that came out in support of AF's post, you'd better go back to Cambridge to learn some basic counting skills.

I've rarely seen such a response on MN.

I can't be cba to rtft

Just wanted to sayy hello to little Lazzer!

Yoo hoo!

So we have "chocolate face is fine cos choccy is lovely"

Another one that I've forgotten

And now little Asian gels love fat old white men? And it's better than starving. Well , all right, I grant you it's a hobson's choice.

But that's all it is.

When I was last in Thailand, the sight of fat old beer bellied white men with tiny 13 year old Thai girls, telling everyone it was real love, made me heave.

ShirleyKnot · 06/07/2012 09:48

I agree running - for someone to be spouting such awful crap all over the Relationships board, which by it's very nature should be a supportive and non mysogynistic place beggars belief.

But then again, I wonder why anyone is surprised that someone who feels so very entitled would have any compunction about lurking like a bad smell on a place which should hold no interest to them. I suppose negative attention is better than no attention at all...

and isn't that a lesson for us all?

I'm just back to report that the scrote hasn't tried to contact me again. I also spent quite some time reading some of those sites we talked about - I won't link to them again. The majority of the men who are posting there do seem to be deficient in some way. Misogyny is a common trait. Some of them seem especially bitter post-divorce. Some seem like they're socially. But their hatred of women is the thread that binds them all.

I'll update again when I get all test results back.
