Hello

I'm Mouse, well normally! [hgrin]

Welcome to the Bus. We are a mixed bunch of Babes, some of us drink, some of us don't and some of us are trying to find out the best way to cut down or stop completely.

There is plenty of room on the Bus for everyone so, come say hi. [hsmile]

And, if you'd like to see what brought us all here, you can read all of the past threads, including the original one by JWN RIGHT HERE

Quick post! Drank thurs. Still recovering from grotty month. Dealing with family annoyance - subject of Xmas rearing it's head again and upset over last year is coming back. Feel like telling them I don't want to see anyone this year! And full of cold. Woop. isinde have not forgotten email, still catching myself up!

ScareyFairenuff · 29/10/2011 11:26

MsGee there is nothing wrong with saying you just want a quiet day on your own with DH and LittleMissGee and arranging to see other family members some other time over the Christmas holidays. You can't please everyone anyway so you might as well please yourself Smile.

I'm still on half term holidays so, despite not wanting to, I eventually succumbed to the bottle last night. I was going to get back to no drinking but being on holiday (ie not having to get up in the morning) makes it so hard. No going to beat myself up over it. Will gear up for Monday.

Good news is that despite eating out and lots of sweet treats in Blackpool, I have only gained 1lb. Must have been all that walking Smile.

Ma good for you!

Mouseface · 29/10/2011 11:43

Morning Babes

Scarey - glad Blackpool was fun! Smile xx

MsGee - remember to take a break for yourself xx

Ma - how long now until you need to get into that dress? xx

Right, off to try out Halloween make-up for tomorrow where I ma helping out at the castle in the village (no, it's not the name of a pub!) so be back later. Might post pics if they are any good xx

demonicma · 29/10/2011 13:11

no hangover this morning - this not drinking has something going for itGrin
Two booze free nights this week so far, am chuffed.
Need to be gorgeous dress-wise for next Thursday. Still haven't managed to find suitable scaffolding for underneath - tried Next as you suggested mouse but our one didn't have any. Am off into town shortly while DS is at a friend's house to see if I can get something. Need to get it today so mohter has time to make any alts with the needle and thread. I'm useless.

BafangaTheSombre · 29/10/2011 13:26

Ma - there is a really good place in my home town that is good for scaffolding Grin
Do you want me to PM you the name?

Mouseface · 29/10/2011 14:34

Ma - Next on-line have loads. And they deliver next day if you order before 9pm. Mind you you'd have to order it Monday for Tuesday.

M&S do slimming wear too, as do most department stores. Debs, John Lewis and the like xx

Mouseface · 29/10/2011 19:56

Very quiet on here? Are you all out trick n treating? Grin

Just wanted to pop in to say goodnight to you all.

I hope wherever you are tonight, you're safe.

Night night Babes xxxxx

ScareyFairenuff · 29/10/2011 20:01

Hi Mouse I'm around but keeping a low profile as I'm drinking this evening. Damn these holidays. Oh well. Will do damage limitation.

How are you doing Saf hope you're ok.

Isinde hope all went well at the docs?

Ma Well done on the two days Smile

Bproud · 29/10/2011 20:07

Hey Ma 2 booze free nights is great! Enjoy your hangover free mornings - don't they feel good?

Good luck with the underwear search. I took a dress with me to the Debenhams lingrie department, showed it to the bra fitter and got her to point out what would work. Predictably I was a completely different size than I thought I was. The right bra makes the dress look much better on me than before.

venusandmars · 29/10/2011 20:09

scarey finish the glass you're on (go on tip it all back - and notice how you grimace - it's not really all that nice, is it?); then go and put the kettle on. Make yourself a lovely mug of coffee or tea, and have a chocolate biscuit with it. Don't you agree that's actually much more enjoyable than the sour glass of wine.

Brush your teeth, jammies on, snuggle up with a book. You will really appreciate it in the morning.

You're only drinking 'cos you're bored..... so write a journal, tidy a cupboard, dye your hair, make a cake. Any of those will be so much better for you.

Bproud · 29/10/2011 20:13

Faire, are you planning to get back on track when the holidays are over?

Mouse is DD making you watch X factor? I just switched over from strictly, but I think the acts are pretty naff this year. I saw a bit of the USA X factor, the acts are sooo much better over there.

ScareyFairenuff · 29/10/2011 20:22

I am Bproud. I'm an 'all or nothing' kind of gal. Unfortunately.

It's ok if I keep it on a very tight leash but once I give myself permission to drink it's hard to stop. I don't mean the quantity, I mean the day to day drinking. I will be fine on Monday. I will stop.

I may stop tonight - venus is right. It doesn't taste that good and I don't want a hangover tomorrow. I could fancy a biscuit actually. (Well by one I mean half a packet of course) Grin

I've been watching USA X Factor too and agree they are far better than any of the UK contestants. So young as well, some of them.

Mouseface · 29/10/2011 20:44

BProud - nope, I am not watching it but have promised DD we'll watch the results together tomorrow. It is the worst year so far this time.

Talentless bar a couple and drama all the way.

Night night again Babes

Bproud · 29/10/2011 20:52

Sounds like you know what you are doing Faire
I'm an all or nothing girl too, both quantity and frequency. I decided to choose the nothing option.
It suits me better Smile

ScareyFairenuff · 29/10/2011 20:58

< catches kiss and puts it in her pocket > thanks Mouse

Bproud I am increasingly leaning that way. So much simpler and I do truly and actively enjoy not drinking. I may get there yet x

MsGee · 30/10/2011 05:13

Morning Sad early start here ... Been up an hour already. Am glad the temptation to drink passed last night - I realised I really didn't want a drink.

Cough and sore throat not helping. Grump. Groan. xx

WallowedInFlies · 30/10/2011 07:56
