Zany More than 1 glass and I will definitely be drooling over him. I'm anybodies for a bag of crisps after 2 glasses of wine Grin

PoppaRob · 14/10/2011 10:03

Time, Lady A were the support act for Keith Urban's last concert tour here and they aced it. I'd go see them as headline act anytime. Good material well performed.

TimeForMeIsFree · 14/10/2011 10:07

I've just downloaded the new album Poppa but must say, I don't like it as much as the first. Still love them though. I like Keith Urban too.

Right, I'm getting out of this house and going for a walk. Get some exercise and take my mind off tonight!

Be back later Smile

Zanywany · 14/10/2011 10:07

Good idea Time although don't get me started on Xmas/New Year as I don't have my DC's on both eves so I'm dreading it

PoppaRob · 14/10/2011 10:13

zany, my daughter has just busted up with her hubby so we're having a disjointed xmas this year too. My 89 year old Mum who is a pain 'cos she likes all the "traditional" xmas dinner crap goes to Sydney to stay with my sister and her hubby and kids. We (my daughter and her hubby and I) used to do the xmas eve thing to accommodate all the steps and inlaws, but people have moved etc. so at the moment it's her and I and one of her mates for a bbq lunch here and then she's picking her daughter (my GD) late afternoon and I have no idea what's happening after that. The GD will probably be tired and cranky so I think boxing day might be the best way to go.

Zanywany · 14/10/2011 10:16

I remember now Watch, its a tough call I guess as if you do meet up and like him then like you say he doesn't live close and is away travelling soon BUT.... you could go and have a really fun night. Not sure what we are doing Sunday yet, its in the daytime so possible a country park or something and then a drink, not spoken to him online for a couple of days as he has been on nights, looking forward to seeing him though without the wine fuzz.

Good advice from Watch there Time don't overthink, go with th flow but be careful and don't do anything you don't feel comfortable with

watchoutforthatsnail · 14/10/2011 10:18

zany - im sorry about that. How is that fair that he gets both? shouldnt you get one each?

DD's dad has got her from the 18th - 23rd dec. ( while im at work and hes off work) and then ive got her through to 4pm on the 26th dec. hes got her for 2 hours xmas day ( which is fine because ill use that time to shower and get ready) and then hes got her until 4pm on the 28th. and ive got her right through until 6th jan. ( mostly because he doesnt want her over new year)
works out better this way, last year i didnt have her between xmas and new year, which was stupid, because that was the only time i had off work.

watchoutforthatsnail · 14/10/2011 10:26

yeah, its excellent advice :) ( if i do say so myself)
advice that i wished my mother had given me, as opposed to stupid things like ' only sleep with someone if you really really love them' and ' dont go to bed late' and too many other things i wasnt suposed to do.
its the same advice i shall give my daughter. Life is for living, you should do what you like, so long as you are safe, and dont do anything you dont want to.
if you dont feel comftable, then its ok to say no and that can cover pretty much any subject i think.

Zanywany · 14/10/2011 10:27

I usually spend Xmas with my children and parents but I don't get on with one of my sisters so last year I spent it with my other sister and her family which I am hoping to do this year or at least go on boxing day. A group of my friend are usually out Xmas eve so fingers crossed they are again this year.

PoppaRob · 14/10/2011 11:03

I just had a message on my hidden Oasis account from a woman who'd sent a contact request a month or so ago who wants to catch up sometime. She has no profile pic, never smokes and says she wants to meet a man who must be christian. I relied to her initial request and said I'm a smoking atheist and could I please see a photo. What the? Confused

I'm back!

Zany I'm sorry to hear you won't be with your DC's at Christmas and New Year. I was in that position last year and hated it. I spent most of the time in bed, watching crap TV, eating chocolate and drinking Vodka. This year though he has DD Christmas eve until 12 noon Christmas Day then she is with me right up until the 30th so it's not as bad this year.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad Shiney, you do right to spoil yourself, I hope it makes you feel a bit better about things. I love fresh bed sheets too, especially when they have been dried outside. You can't beat a nice bath or shower then climbing into a clean bed. I've also been slathering myself in that tanning moisturiser all week so I have a healthy glow all over Grin so, even though I'm not planning to sleep with him on the first date, I am planning for it!

TimeForMeIsFree · 14/10/2011 11:52

Oh, I forgot to ask, I have a Style & Beauty question. I have a lovely maxi dress, I feel lovely in it too and would like to wear it for any future dates I may have. During Summer I wore it with flat but strappy sandals but am clueless as to what you would wear on your feet with a maxi dress during Autumn/Winter months. I've got wedges too but obviously they are sandal type wedges. Do people wear boots with a maxi dress?

Shiney we DO like, LOVE in fact. Really sorry to hear about your dad though

Well I've had it done, the side fringe that is. It hasn't really turned out how I thought, she's left it much longer than I expected so it's more like just having a side parting really. Oh well I will faff about with it a bit and go and get it shorter if it still doesn't do what I want it to. It's nice though.

Time :o at the sheets

Love that dress Shiney, love it!

I have my outfit sorted for tonight and I'm happy with it because I am comfortable in it, but also love the maxi dress and would like to have been able to wear that at some point too but never mind, will file it away for next Summer. I need to get this weight off then I will have lots of 'dating' clothes! My style, never really thought about it but I suppose it's classy/classic, is that a style? I like dresses, heels, nice scarves, fitted clothes usually. Even when wearing leggings I like to keep it 'neat' with long fitted jumpers or a nice tunic or dress, with heeled boots. I like wearing Jeans too, high waisted these days to avoid the muffin top. I like to show a bit of cleavage or a bit of leg too. Can you decipher a 'style' from that lot Shiney? Grin

watchoutforthatsnail · 14/10/2011 12:07

lubey - PIC!!

shiney- love the dress. LOVE it. and go treat yourself. Sorry about your dad :( if nail varnish distracts you and makes you feel better then do it :)

I think you can wear boots with a maxi, maybe. ive got this black/grey one ( lots of layers, so itsnt all floaty) with studs down the sleeves. Its sheer on top and not really a day time dress at all. Im planning on wearing it in the winter over a coloured top and then thick tights and flat biker boots. Which will look fine, but i do tend to go for the 'mixed up look'

TimeForMeIsFree · 14/10/2011 12:07

Brilliant lubey! Can we see a pic please??

I've even ordered myself a new duvet set in a deep and alluring purpley colour. I am on a mission now girls, don't know if you can tell Grin I am scared, I don't mind admitting it, I am venturing outside my comfort zone but although I am scared it's something I want to do. I want to do something different to my 'norm' and I want to get that first shag after the ex under my belt too, so I moved on in all areas.

watchoutforthatsnail · 14/10/2011 12:08

haha, my style, as defined by my sister is that of ' scruff bag' shes about right as well.

TimeForMeIsFree · 14/10/2011 12:11

I'm thinking maybe I could get away with wearing it with some ballerina type shoes. It's mainly black but has some colour in it, straight not flarey outy. It is sleeveless but I have a nice black shrug type cardi thing that ties at the front. I guess I can do a bit of experimenting.

watchoutforthatsnail · 14/10/2011 12:11

time - yes, we can tell ;) its good. Sounds like you are feeling good about yourself and excited about life, and the future and experiences that might come your way. All really good. ;)
