I'll start.

I'm 31, single and rather fed up of it now. Have a few internet dating profiles, am trying to improve my social life and get out more, even looking out for possible additional temp jobs just to be.... 'out there' a bit more.

Even had a go at cosmic ordering which has been cropping up in dating related threads recently. Now I'm a very scientific and cynical kind of person but when it comes to my (currently appalling) love life I will try anything to give it a bit of a boost. Whether that be focusing the mind on the task in hand or strange unknown forces I care not.

But there is just no way. The age thing was a slight issue for me before ( i cant help that it is, it just is) but it seems his pics on the site are maybe quite a few years out of date. He has lots of wrinkles and a bald head and yellow teeth.

And if he's misled you by using old photos then I'd be inclined to tell him the truth - now you've seen the more recent ones you don't think it'd work. Harsh but fair. Been online dating on and off for few years. Mainly match with limited success. Been seeing a guy recently, who is fairly full on and seems really into me. We have had about 5 dates and has been brilliant, sent me flowers, present from holiday and everything seemed great. He asked me to stay Monday night and I spent ages getting organized arranged waxing, hairdressers ect. I was at work early lugged all my stuff to work and got following text;

Fairyloo it was a bit curt... but he is knob for blanking you. I'd have given the benefit of the doubt for a first offence but his blanking response has shown him up for what he is... which is best avoided. So lucky escape there.

Just to say that this is an excellent thread and I wish all of you internet daters the very best of luck . I did it myself for a while and found my prince among the frogs . Makes me remember how exciting it was and the bad stuff. My advice would only be to be picky and to enjoy . I had dates which were lovely even though there was no chemistry at all .
DH would probably want me to point out that it is tough for blokes too . He felt like Billy No Mates at the school disco and had piles of rejections. Plus blokes are not as good at expressing themselves in words, generally . DH had a female friend write his profile for him . It sounded honest , which was all I wanted . And I also had the thing about text speak , punctuation , spelling and grammar AND the blokes who responded to that by thinking I would spank them ( boak ) .
