In summary. They favour my brother's elder daughter have done for years.

But it was her birthday recently. My kids get £10 in an envelope, DD2 got a home made dolls house.

Neice got an Ipod Touch from them.

I am going to have to speak to them - my two are gutted. (DN has been crowing by email to DD1)

Help me frame the conversation so it doesn't descend into a shouting match?

oh how sad. i would just ring them up and let them all know that if they are happy treating you like shit as they have done for so long then you dont need ppl like that in your life blood or not! do you not see how miserable they are making your life? (not meaning to b nasty here) your an adult you have a family of your own now give them a wide birth for a month or so and if they dont get in touch then that says it all really. you really need to be blunt with your family they have no quarms about treating you and yours like shit so just put all your cards on the table and say something along the lines of 'sick to death of u so blantantly making my children feel different to others in family and treating me like a muppet so i'll be seeing you. cant be doing with this in my life no more or my childrens' then off home you go and focus on your children and your new relationship, yes it hurts, u need family, but not when they r treating you so terribly.

yes it might cause a bit of trouble but it will blow over things always do. so stand up for yourself because i used to be exactly the same getting treat like crap off certain members of family then i just thaught god i really dont need this anymore, the anexiety, the backstabbing and the mind games. but now i prepare myself everytime i do see them i have a snidey remark at the ready bcos if they r willing to give it then they should be big enough to take it. they will sharp get sick and learn to keep thier mouths shut unless they have anything nice to say. its not easy when your not the argumentative type or you like to try and 'hold things together' but seriously play them at thier own game. if they want a relationship with you and yours then they damn right better start treating you all with respect.
