Mouseface · 21/01/2011 22:19

Hello all.

We are the Brave Babes. We're on the Battle Bus, travelling around sobriety and going day by day, hour by hour, through the detox hell of not drinking, cutting down or sometimes even not.

Come say hi. We won't bite. Grin

No doubt one of us has been where you are now......

It's fine. No judging, no nasty jibes, just us, the BBs.

Come meet the others..................

hi Thurso - I have lapsed and for the life of me can't think why as it was all going very well and i was feeling ok.
DH and i have both vowed to have a drink free week this week so we'll see if that gets me back on the wagon again. I'm annoyed at myself but it makes me realise that a few days does not mean you have the demon licked!

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 05/02/2011 21:44

Maud2011 · 06/02/2011 04:44

Bum, pub last night just for (one - one glass? one bottle? crate??), woke up head on kitchen table, off to bed for 4 hours sleep now Sad

notevenamousie · 06/02/2011 06:03

Maud - it happened and it?s past. However hungover you are, do you think you could get to a meeting today? Even if you just say I had a drink and I can?t do this on my own. It has to get as bad as it has to get and you have to be ready, only you will know if you are there yet.

IsIndie - what started last night off? I can?t remember, are you still off work? How?s the foot? Has a break helped? How are the little ones?

ma don?t forget all those alcohol free days aren?t wasted, they have given your body and your liver especially a break, so don?t be beating yourself up, today?s another day.

Silver what happened lovely? Your head can?t get fixed overnight ? well, mine can?t! Hope you are doing ok today.

I have proven to myself I can survive my ex?s (DD's dad) crap without a drink. His text last night even had my lovely sponsor saying ?I don?t know what to say? ? and I don?t think that happens often. But I curled up on the sofa, put some music on, had a cry and phoned someone. Alcohol would make this worse, and this morning I am clear headed and able to try and navigate what?s best for my lovely DD in all of this. I am so grateful ? the last 9 days (ODAAT) have had me in the best place I?ve ever been in.

Although being awake since 4 with DD is not the best start to a Sunday (she's gone back to sleep now!) it is so so good to wake up sober.

Rubyredlips · 06/02/2011 08:07

Hi to all babes new and old.

I've been drinking 2 large glasses of wine a night since Wed. I've not been hammered but I can really notice the difference in the morning - yak.
Today I will not be drinking.

Noteven you sound so much better. Well done. What a strong lady you are. Just reading your posts makes me Smile

Cristiane · 06/02/2011 08:14

Morning everyone

Silver are you ok?

Noteven you sound amazing

Cristiane · 06/02/2011 08:19

Where's Venus?

dementedma · 06/02/2011 09:58

noteven well done to you, am seriously impressed.
another one climbing aboard with a hangover and a guilty face....Sad
I will not beat myself up, today is another day. Fastens seatbelt grimly.
indie you ok?

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 06/02/2011 11:02

Hello everyone,

I haven't been able to get onto the website until just now (seriously worried that I wouldn't get to speak to you).

Noteven you sound wonderful, well done for getting through without a drink.

Ma, Indie, Maude I hope you are feeling a bit better by now (mashed potato sandwich called for) Grin.

I have to say that I when I saw you were all having a drink last night, I really wished it was me, as well Blush. I couldn't face the thought of feeling like I did on Friday morning, though, and so I didn't. But, I don't feel much better for it this morning.

DC still asleep, and DH woke up, after being at deaths door last night with a hacking cough, etc, woke up bright as a button, and has gone to watch rugby.

I was sort of hoping that if he felt better we could have gone for a long walk, and come home to have a roast lunch, and an afternoon on the sofa. Me projecting again.

Has anyone ever read the short story "The lovely leave" by Dorothy Parker, different situation, but that's exactly what I do with the weekends, build them up, have them crash down, and Sunday night wish I could start over.

I do wonder if it was me, on Friday morning that brought on DH's symptoms yesterday, he always says not, but.....

Christian how are you? When is DH back?
Venus are you around yet, lovely?
Mouse How is Nemo not the best weather for him I imagine, warm, wet and generally yuk, well it is here anyway.

Hey, I was looking for holiday cottages yesterday, and saw one in Thurso Grin

jesuswhatnext · 06/02/2011 11:12

now come on ladies!!

i know its hard but it really can be done! i am actually a bit cross with you hungover babes!, what difference does it make just because it was saturday night? as an excuse its a pretty poor one! now, i know that life is not easy for a lot of you, but really, be honest, how exactly has a hangover helped? my mother has a very good saying 'never put your wishbone where your backbone ought to be'!! i know you have the 'desire' to stop drinking but you also need to find the strength inside! I KNOW YOU ALL HAVE IT!!, we have been together on this bus for sometime now and i feel like i have got to know you all, I KNOW YOU ARE ALL FANTASTIC WOMEN!!! SO GET A BLOODY GRIP!!

TODAY WE WILL NOT BE DRINKING!!!

dont let the fucker beat you!, you are all worth so much more!!!

Cristiane · 06/02/2011 11:19

Hey JWN well said!

thurso DH back Wednesday night. Thank God. I am exhausted.

Mouseface · 06/02/2011 11:23

Oh dear Babes.

noteven - well done you for managing to get through that without a drink! [smlie]

Ma - can you see my hair today? Grin How much did you get through? What triggered it do you think or was it a case of sod it?

Maud - start again lovely. Just start again. Come and tell us all about it when you feel up to it.

Christi - venus is away I think, someone said when I asked after her.

Ruby - yep, 2 large glasses is massively different to 2 small ones. I really notice the difference too.

IsinDe - what are we going to do about this lovely? You are trapped in another cycle. Sad

What's wrong? [worried emoticon] xx

Well I survived screetching girls and a sleepover. Had a lovely lie in too. DH is making breakfast, few jobs to do and then roast beef later.

All good in the Mouse house Smile

Silver - come and talk to us xx
