Brave Battling Babes - Booze No More!!

Mouseface · 30/07/2010 23:47

Well, thanks to the refreshingly honest and inspirational JesusWhatNext - this is the third thread, for the battle to beat the booze for all of those who are on the path to do so.

Some are sober, some are trying to be and some are still drinking.

I'm Mouse, I'm new to this and I'm scared. So, come and join the journey.

I got a headache

MoominMags · 05/08/2010 13:15

Well, a headache is not too bad! (Just be careful though - when I first picked up after almost 11 months I kind of 'got away with it' in that nothing too horrific happened. So I think my twisted my mind thought it was OK to pick up again. And again. And then once more. And each time was worse than the last. I still cannot bear to consider some of the details of the last time Sorry to be depressing!! Just want to try to save you from how I felt!)

No I don't mean I got away with it, that was too flippant of me. My tongue was firmly in cheek. What I mean is I got nothing positive out of it at all!

MoominMags · 05/08/2010 13:22

glass - Sorry, I am not being too clear! What I meant was that I thought I had got away with it when I did it. Didn't think you were thinking that. It was all subconscious for me anyway. Hope that makes a bit more sense!

MoominMags · 05/08/2010 13:22

Hi wasindie!! Just 2 days to go, that's not too bad. Just think of the relief!

MIFLAW · 05/08/2010 13:32

I agree with Moomin - it's nearly always a lose-lose. Either things turn to shit immediately; or they don't, so you feel safe, so you drink again - until, inevitably, eventually the night (or day, or morning) comes when it all turns to shit.

MIFLAW · 05/08/2010 13:33

Wasindie

ODAAT ...

MoominMags · 05/08/2010 13:59

glass - come back! Hope you didn't think I was getting at you!

How's everyone else this afternoon? I am very, very bored busy at work...! Anything exciting planned for tonight? I am off to another meeting. It should be one of my nights 'off' but a struggling/ lapsed member who has not been for months got in touch this morning so I said I would go with her. I haven't been to this particular meeting for ages so I am looking forward to it! (Altough I was also looking forward to lying on the sofa, reading and eating chocolate )

Mouseface · 05/08/2010 14:03

OUCH!!!!! My legs hurt. Lots. OUCH!!

Glass - how are you feeling now?

CTS - what exactly did they say to you?

Hello Moomin

Have you been 'shredding' again mouse?!

Mouseface · 05/08/2010 14:10

Nope, bloody physio and hydrotherapy.

I still hurt from my last fall and from Shredding but mainly cos my physio is a 'beatch'!!!!!! A male one at that!!

You ok?

OP posts:
MoominMags · 05/08/2010 14:13

Bloody hell, no wonder your legs hurt after all that!

I am fine thanks. It's a good day, I was sober yesterday, sober today and hope to be sober tomorrow! (Bit sad that my lounging around plans have been scuppered... but that's my selfish gene talking!)

MoominMags · 05/08/2010 14:19

Oh dear God. I am so embarrassed. I was just 'scampering' about the office for some reason and kind of tripped over and stumbled all over the place. I am amazed I didn't go flat on my face. And the noise I created And all this without a drink!!!

Mouseface · 05/08/2010 14:27

Sorry Moomin but

Are you ok? Any bruises? I'm a bit black and blue.....

Sorry your plans have had to change.

MoominMags · 05/08/2010 14:49

I would have laughed at me too! It was pretty spectacular.... No bruises as yet but I will keep you informed, lucky you!

Not a problem re my plans really, more important that I give support to someone re booze. Could be me that needs the support next time. Am just being a whinger!

Mouseface · 05/08/2010 15:13

OMFG!!

Just checked my e-mails and guess what?

I have won a case of Chenin Blanc Chardonnay and a limited edition football, courtesy of MN!!!!!

How ironic. I entered before I gave up drinking.

Lots of wine for presents now then!!

OP posts:
MIFLAW · 05/08/2010 15:16

As long as you don't drink the wine you will be able to stay vertical enough to kick the football.

MoominMags · 05/08/2010 15:19

That is so typical! That's presents sorted for people then - just keep it out of sight (and hopefully mind!)

Mouseface · 05/08/2010 15:34

MIFLAW!!!! Ironic hey?!

Don't worry Moomin, I have no intention of drinking a drop of it........ Wine is best left to age I am told so it can be gifts or go on the rack for nights when we entertain.

I'm sure DH will love it and DD can have the football!!

Happy days!!

OP posts:
MoominMags · 05/08/2010 15:59

That's good then! All sorted!
