Well, here we go ladies (and MIFLAW)! The new thread to follow on from JWN's 'me and alcohol have ruined my family'. I hope no one minds that I decided to go with 'brave'? I just think that it describes us!

As a quick recap, I am 33 and on day 22 of sobriety (on this occasion!)

I used to only drink smirnoff

sometimes even bluenoff

but then I realised tesco value vodka does the same

MoominMags · 30/07/2010 11:34

Yep, it all fucks you up. No matter how much it cost, how pretty the packaging or how expensive the marketing!

algee · 30/07/2010 11:39

yip. I used to hide my blue label under anthing I could, then put my head down at the counter...'cos of course that disguised me beautifully! Made sure I decanted cheap in to posh bottle though to hide from dh.
even the cheaper whiskey goes down with lemonade in it....actually still a bit of a whiskey snob, but that's where the money was going.

Mouseface · 30/07/2010 11:43

One and half bottles of Tesco Value Vodka in the kitchen.

I'd normally be asking DH to get me another by now. Ready for 'the weekend'.

algee · 30/07/2010 11:45

...have we been keeping the blue label vodka distillery in profit??

MoominMags · 30/07/2010 12:49

I hope that the relative quiet on here means that you are all pondering the new title for the next thread!!! Any thoughts so far...?

I'm trying to get DS to realise he needs to have a nap.

So far, he has giggled to himself for half and hour and now has hiccups!!!

Will have a think re the new thread title.

MoominMags · 30/07/2010 13:05

That's a good use of time - I will let you off ! How old is he? (I am sorry, you have probably said before.)

OP posts:
TrinityRhino · 30/07/2010 13:06

'fucked up no more, losing the booze and the bulge' ?

MoominMags · 30/07/2010 13:09

Like it Trinity - can you squeeze Babes in there somewhere so that everyone knows it's us?!

OP posts:
MoominMags · 30/07/2010 13:10

Brave (and Bonkers) Babes - Round 3 in the Battle of the Booze (and Bulge) ???

OP posts:
MoominMags · 30/07/2010 13:11

Mine is maybe a bit wordy! Anyway, I will leave it to all of you as it will probably have to be set up this evening or tomorrow and I generally don't have much access outside of 'working' hours(!)

OP posts:
Mouseface · 30/07/2010 13:23

'Beautiful Battling Babes, no more on the floor - Round 3'????

He's 15 months old, pics on my profile. I have DD who is 11 too.

Mouseface · 30/07/2010 13:24

Oh, and MIFLAW, you too are a babe.

gettingwrinkly · 30/07/2010 13:28

Thinking . . . but no bright ideas! Like yours Mouse. Got to go shopping now (yuk) at least I can avoid the alcohol aisle, but will make up for it on the chocolate aisle! I hate shopping, it wouldn't be so bad if my family ever offered any suggestions for food, but they all say they don't mind what we eat, then pull a face if I serve up something unexciting.

MoominMags · 30/07/2010 13:34

mouse - he's gorgeous! (And so are you my lovely!)

wrinkly - hope the shopping is not too painful. I am sad, I like food shopping. Although it's only me and dh so I don't have to worry about feeding any more than that! (Yes, seeing as I am not a mum - yet! - it's probably a bit odd that I am on MN but never mind!)

OP posts:
MoominMags · 30/07/2010 13:35

And I like your title suggestion too!

OP posts:
venusandmars · 30/07/2010 13:46

Mouse, what a sweet little boy. Is your dd equally sweet?

Wrinkly, my family as the same. They say they don't mind what's for tea, making it sound as though they are being considerate, but actually they can't be arsed to think of anything. Sometimes my dp suggests beef olives - just because he knows I hate them.

No clever ideas for thread titles. Like 'fucked up no more...' start to it

venusandmars · 30/07/2010 13:48

As long as the title isn't 'bonkers no more...'

Giving up the booze has been tough enough - not sure I'm ready for celebacy

MoominMags · 30/07/2010 13:54

venus!

OP posts:
TrinityRhino · 30/07/2010 14:07

'Bonking Brave Babes, Battling the booze and bulge'

MoominMags · 30/07/2010 14:09

We may have a winner there! Personally I love it!

OP posts:
TrinityRhino · 30/07/2010 14:10

'Bonking and Fucked up no more, Brave battling of the Boozy Bulge'?

MoominMags · 30/07/2010 14:12
