Spoilers thread for The Archers. Please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers Thread. Last spoilers thread here: www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4197199--The-Archers-spoilers-thread-7-Cant-wait-for-7-02pm-Join-us-here

Current main Archers thread here: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4887688-archers-thread-153-total-absolute-rubbish-but-we-keep-on-listening-hoping-for-better-things-its-the-hope-that-kills-you-discuss-the-archers-here?latest=1 The main thread tends to last a few weeks. The spoiler thread runs for around a year, but I strongly suspect it gets read about as much as the main thread.

@Bruisername , they could both in their 30s.

Bruisername · 25/04/2024 10:15

so who else is mid 40s? Kirsty? Would be good for her to branch out from being Helen’s support person

it would make sense for her to make friends with people with similar aged kids so Helen, Emma and Tracy? I’m guessing just on the basis of class Tracy and Emma are ruled out

TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 25/04/2024 10:50

I was only speculating on the people in this week’s cast list!

Bruisername · 25/04/2024 10:52

Good point!

WhoppingBigBackside · 25/04/2024 10:57

Laura? The actor has been in soaps.

TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 25/04/2024 11:12

Interesting - but she’s not of the village, and putting two outsiders together wouldn’t make much sense narratively.

(But then - I didn’t think Tracy and Jazzer made much sense as a story. Did the SWs listen to me? … Hmm)

WhoppingBigBackside · 25/04/2024 12:30

It will be Joy, and Azra will move to Beechwood.
It won't be Harry that gets dedded as he'll be in rehab

TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 25/04/2024 12:38

Well, they do need more speaking characters at Beechwood, so Azra would be a welcome addition. But, curiosity aside, I find it impossible to care about Joy.

True about Harry!

Poor Mick … 🔮

WhoppingBigBackside · 25/04/2024 12:44

Joy is likeable and brightens things up. Compared with her, Denise is miserable and negative.

Bruisername · 25/04/2024 12:47

I find Joy irritating so I hope we get more depth

maybe Alice will kill herself or attempt to? Would be harrowing

WhoppingBigBackside · 25/04/2024 13:30

I do hope not @Bruisername . I think it's more likely like little Marthyr will be sacrificed for the sake of some doof-doofs.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary April 28th-May 3rd
There’s high drama when Jakob makes a shocking discovery about a fellow resident, who is desperate to keep him quiet. Meanwhile, Bartleby, the talking horse proves problematic, as George and Eddie clash over their plans for him, with Lynda a surprisingly influential factor. Alice keeps up the pretence all is fine, but dinner with Brian and Miranda makes it tricky.

Hmm. From the way that's written, I'd assume Jakob's shocking discovery isn't about Alice, but what else could it be?

[Never did find the RT Diary for this current week!]

OP posts:
TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 25/04/2024 15:57

It’ll be Alice, surely?

Unless Denise has faked her qualifications - which seems unlikely.

Fallon finding she’s pregnant wouldn’t be ‘shocking’ in the context of Jakob discovering it - and why would he?

Kate will have sent him to check on Alice and he’ll spy her drunk and dishevelled on the kitchen floor …

Gonners · 25/04/2024 16:46

It'll surely be a bottle in the shared recycling bin, won't it?

It would probably have made more sense to put next week's spoilers with this, so here we are again. I'll update when the next batch of teasers appears on the BBC website, which they haven't yet.

So who is Dr Ghanam delivering bad news to?

TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 25/04/2024 17:34

Thank you for those, @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g (good of you to take the time!).

Once again - Mick is in the cast for the May 4th week - but not in the context of his rewilding activities - or at least, not with Rex or Kirsty. And right above Dr Ghanham in the cast list. Why?

#Dispensable

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/04/2024 17:36

No problem. Now released from my civic duty, so need distraction!

Bruisername · 25/04/2024 17:40

I hope we’re not getting a repeat of Nics death (not cause but the unnecessary drama). Stopped me listening for ages

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/04/2024 17:42

'Life-changing' in the context of bulletins about medical issues after an accident usually means something like losing a limb.

OP posts:
TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 25/04/2024 17:49

Or an eye - like poor Mike Tucker?

Bruisername · 25/04/2024 17:56

Maybe she’ll burn the house down as I seem to recall there being a lot of fire stoking. And then she will have terrible burns.

although I guess that’s been done with GG

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/04/2024 19:37

Now, against my expectations, the spoilers have updated since this afternoon.
