I welcomed hearing Shula's voice and other than the out-of-character fling with Richard Locke and the bizarre splitting with nice Alistair to become a minister, I have admired her. She's always well-acted, which is probably why so many dislike the character (cf. Helen).
I've always liked Ruth, and other than her 'soothing voice' like her voice. I've defended the 'fake geordie' comment many times over the years (it's a fake northumbrian accent). I did rather resent her for getting together with David, as, of course, he should have picked me.
Don't get me started on Pip. I loved the ghastly teenage Pip, but the current one seems to have no redeeming features.
We might get a bit more of Shula, but it will be short term. Brian would be a natural for Gagriculture.
