What's 'Fallon''s real accent like?

"Fallon" was attempting to be a a Norwegian(?) nurse in "Murder in the Orient Express". The accent wasn't easy for her to sustain. DH is 1/2 Danish and I watch enough Skandi Noir TV to have found it "interesting".

IRL she has (had) a YouTube cooking channel where, to me she sounds like "Fallon trying to sound less West Country". To my ear she has the same intonation, with less of the burr: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3w0eh-iv4PZ34Usp8IAPLA

WhoppingBigBackside · 23/11/2023 16:34

She's nothing like Fallon! Thanks for the link.

WhoppingBigBackside · 23/11/2023 16:39

I'm not sure what to make of this one

JanglyBeads · 23/11/2023 21:58

Is that "Fallon"?!

WhoppingBigBackside · 24/11/2023 13:04

@JanglyBeads , The link posted by @Madcats is 'Fallon'. The links I posted aren't.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 26th November – 1st December 2023
The minute it was announced that Oliver is selling off a patch of land, it was perhaps inevitable that Justin would get involved. Here he is this week, using underhand tactics to gain an advantage. But then Lilian also has an eye on it, as do members of Bridge Farm and others - who will get caught in the crossfire?
Fallon finds herself undermined at the tearoom, Jakob has a run-in with Lynda over the Christmas show, and Adil comes up with a very ambitious concept at Grey Gables.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 26th November – 1st December 2023
Justin is competing with Lilian, among others, for control of a patch of land.
Meanwhile Alan faces the prospect of conducting a very unusual funeral, and Jakob is busy organising this year’s Christmas show, but guess who wants to be involved - could it be Lynda Snell?

+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=
I suppose that means Alan is going to be lumbered with Rob's funeral. But I hope that little bit is just a red herring, and Poppy has asked him to conduct a funeral for her guinea-pig or something.

Gonners · 25/11/2023 16:00

But I hope that little bit is just a red herring, and Poppy has asked him to conduct a funeral for her guinea-pig or something.

I see Sykesy is in the cast, so perhaps he has eccentric wishes?

TottersBlanklyIntoBimboCore · 25/11/2023 16:00

Oooh! Natasha wants the land for her blessed fruit trees?

Thanks @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime !

WhoppingBigBackside · 25/11/2023 16:02

Thanks @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime .
Alice, Natasha and Jakob this week, which is good, and no Pip Grin
Sykesy might be the awkward meeting. Maybe he's been reading some pointless novels.

Yes to Tash's trees.

TherapistInATabard · 25/11/2023 17:15

That’s weird, I was only thinking about Sykesy this morning, wondering what the latest is.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/11/2023 18:30

Thanks, Asking! I hope Gonners is right and it's Sykesy, not Rob, who needs the funeral. Perhaps Skyesy has left a recorded message for Ben asking him to arrange it and get his Gran to cater for the wake.

Turns out the red herring funeral was for someone nobody has heard of before, rather than Poppy's guinea-pig. I'm glad of that; I have nothing against that guinea-pig, and having a short back and sides from Chelsea seems enough for any cavy to have to put up with.

Was the whole point of the funeral to inspire humourless Jakob to do stand up then? Yawn.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 27/11/2023 21:49

That and get the listeners haring off after the idea it was to be Rob's funeral, I expect. I'll admit to having thought them capable of that particular horror.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/11/2023 22:20

I suspect the real purpose is to get Jasper Carrott to be the star turn at the Archers Christmas special. I am very easily amused so looking forward to it. Jakob's actor does deadpan very well.

It'll only work if they let Jasper Carrott do his own material, and maybe Jakob's as well. Given that the SWs think that any Grundy scam is hilarious, I wouldn't trust them an inch when it comes to writing something that is meant to be genuinely funny.

Deleted - duplicate post for some reason

I see that future one liners include Lilian dropping a big bombshell and Alice having a big decision to make. I see Lilian selling her interest in the stables to Harry in Alice's future.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/12/2023 12:26

It is Justin who has money in The Stables; Lilian, as the ex-owner, is keeping an eye on Alice fo Shula but doesn't in fact have a financial interest, as far as I know. Justin was dissuaded from buying her a yacht with some spare money he had knocking around, so he bought into horses instead.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/12/2023 13:00

This coming weeks Daily Mail spoilers have not yet come to hand; I may scribble them out while I'm shopping today, or then again I may not. I'm not going to buy it!

BBC One-Liners
03 Dec Kate is on a mission, and debate rages at Bridge Farm.
04 Dec Justin goes too far, and Clarrie reaches the end of her tether.
05 Dec Lilian faces the music, and Eddie waves the white flag.

07 Dec The Grundy’s keep their fingers crossed, and Tom comes to a decision.
08 Dec The fate of one family is sealed as the auction takes place, while Lilian drops a shocking bombshell.

What will be the fate of the Grange Farm land - and the concerned Grundys? The auction leads to turmoil, controversy, a confrontation and an announcement.
Meanwhile, Kate receives life-changing news and sets out to stop what’s going on.
Natasha and Tom realise they have taken on too much.
And one character makes a shocking return, causing chaos in their midst.

The only returning character I can see in the credits is "Graham", who, since he is being played by Malcolm McKee who played Graham Ryder, I have assumed to be that slimy bloke.

It Has To Be Debbie.

WhoppingBigBackside · 02/12/2023 14:14

@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime . thanks. I read the RT TA bits in the supermarket earlier this week, and I got the impression that Jakob was going to dump her, but I might be wrong. Not sure if that would be life-changing.

There's no Fallon, so not sure why Tomtasha are rushed off their feet. Maybe Fallon will be silently working to rule or something.

Graham Ryder will be the auctioneer. This coming week looks a bit Grundy-heavy.

On the rare occasions when I read the DM (like when it's been left behind on a train and I'm bored witless) I usually find it toxic.

Ooh, cross-posted! Hazel?

Next week's Daily Mail is just a smaller version of the BBC Spoilers:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 3rd – 8th December 2023
The bickering continues over who will win ownership of the Grange Farm land that's being offered up at auction.
Meanwhile, Kate receives some life-changing news, and somebody makes a shocking return to Ambridge.

and therefore easily jotted down while in a supermarket queue on a Saturday in December.
