Spoilers thread for The Archers. Please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers Thread (hence the zipped mouth on the emoji!). Last spoilers thread here: www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4197199--The-Archers-spoilers-thread-6-Cant-wait-for-7-02pm-Join-us-here

Current main Archers thread here: www.mumsnet.com/talk/radio_addicts/4632741-archers-thread-139-whos-the-daddy-no-ceremonial-required-to-join-us-discuss-the-archers-here The main thread tends to last a few weeks. The spoiler thread runs for well over a year, but I strongly suspect it gets read about as much as the main thread.

There's more to Stella though. There's the link with Justin Elliott.
The surprise visitor to Fridge Barm was the person from the council.

I want a knitted ferret.

The Stella/Justin connection was set up but never explained.

WhoppingBigBackside · 01/06/2023 15:58

That's right, @CaptainMyCaptain .

The inspector from the council wasn't in the cast list.

JanglyBeads · 01/06/2023 16:10

Ah well let's hope it comes to light when the odious Martin tried to sack her.....

WhoppingBigBackside · 01/06/2023 16:17

Martyn will probably try to give Stella's job to Geowurge

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 01/06/2023 17:30

Stella works for Home Farm, doesn't she? Surely only Brian could sack her?

That's right, @CaptainMyCaptain .

The inspector from the council wasn't in the cast list.

I thought she was

"Harriet: Janice Fryett" at the bottom of the list.

The person from the council introduced herself as Harriet Highway.

WhoppingBigBackside · 01/06/2023 18:06

Ah! Thanks Asking, I'll need to listen again..

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/06/2023 19:31

Gosh, that was all a bit Exciting! Bet it doesn't stick, though. Stella is still around this coming week, though I suppose even if sacked she still would be.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 4th – 9th June 2023
The worsening situation at Bridge Farm sees Tony struggle to control his emotions and two other members of the clan hatch a very dangerous plan. There's guilt all round and flared tempers at Home Farm after the events of last Friday. George's behaviour causes concern at Berrow, Adam is caught between a rock and a hard place, and on Friday, one villager goes too far.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 4th – 9th June 2023
As feelings of guilt and anger linger at Home Farm, wily Justin has a cunning plan.
The mood is no better at Bridge Farm, where Tony is struggling to control his emotions.
Also this week, which includes the 20,000th episode from Ambridge, dependable Lee steps up to the plate, cocky George breezes on regardless, and Freddie is increasingly restless at Lower Loxley.

I shall be away and computerless next weekend, so I shan't be posting spoilers until midweek at the earliest.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/06/2023 19:40

Thanks, Asking! I'll try to remember to post anything I can find next weekend. Have a good break.

I wonder if Justin is going to try to employ Stella.

WhoppingBigBackside · 03/06/2023 20:11

Thanks Asking. Have a good weekend next weekend (and this one too).

Gonners · 03/06/2023 20:27

Thanks, @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime Have fun.

6 Jun - Justin spies an opportunity ...

... to wind up Brine by hiring Stella?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/06/2023 21:29

Hiring her to do what, though? I don't think Justin has a farm for her to run.

Gonners · 03/06/2023 21:56

It doesn't much matter what he hires her for, though, does it, as long as she hangs around being paid? This is Ambridge, where nothing makes sense.

I have lost the thread of the arrangements here (along with the will to live) - are Justin and Brian still involved, professionally, in some venture or other?

Novum · 06/06/2023 09:12

Justin will probably threaten to pull the contract with Home Farm unless Stella remains in place.

The dangerous plan hatched by two members of the Home Farm clan must be Tom and someone else with something bloody stupid like trying to hide Jack away from the courts, mustn't it? At first I though it would be Tom and Lee till I saw the bit about Lee stepping up to the plate. Maybe Tony?

Novum · 06/06/2023 09:14

Sorry, that should have referred to the Bridge Farm clan, not Home Farm.

JanglyBeads · 06/06/2023 16:59

Oo, the 20,000th episode must surely contain something interesting - in the same sentence as Lee's stepping up.....

CaptainMyCaptain · 09/06/2023 13:34

Big spoilers in this week's Radio Times.

Henry gets a voice!

Thanks Gasp. BTW, How are the GaspParents?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/06/2023 15:33

Oh, well spotted! I missed that.

Thanks for asking about GaspParents, who are doing pretty well, considering. Hoping to get up there again next month. GaspDad is back at his regular volunteering job, albeit for less time than before, and he no longer sits on the committee. They're made of tough stuff!

OP posts:
WhoppingBigBackside · 09/06/2023 15:43

Oh I am glad, Gasp. They sound wonderful.
Thanks for the DumTeeDum link on the thread no longer go on - that may well change before long.

I think it will be Lee in the dairy with Pat's shotgun, but I suspect there may be a siege in Beechwood. Maybe Joy will be involved.
