Every time Russ is in the cast I hope that it is because he is going to get his comeuppance.

Lily's one-nighter Sol is back as well.

With Russ, I'm just pleased that a not dreary person is involved. Beth 'n' Ben 'n' Steph are so appalling I was relieved to hear from Chris and Alice.

AmaryIlis · 01/07/2022 08:11

If the police have been tipped off about the rave, does that mean Russ is going to be arrested? Or is he going to be irresistibly drawn to some teenager? Or both?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 01/07/2022 10:00

Ruth didn't know where it was going to happen; "on BL land near a wood" doesn't pinpoint it very well, as Ben remarked. I don't see her having been able to tip off the police very usefully.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/07/2022 13:15

I still don't know for sure about Daily Mail spoilers happening at all, but here's what I already have:

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 3rd - 8th July 2022 Oliver has come up with an idea for bringing the community together. This time, it doesn't involve uniting Ambridge in its criticism of his actions, but a still-disgruntled Lynda may take some persuading. Another source of drama these past few weeks has been the mollycoddled Steph, who has dad Vince wrapped around her little finger. But might her hold on him be loosening? And what might this mean for Beth and Ben? Tracy's captaincy skills are tested in a challenging cricket match against Darrington. And she's keen to impress, workwise, when a new opportunity presents itself. She may have her family by her side, but they're not the ones who need convincing.....

As far as we know, all Ambridge cricket matches this season will be against Darrington because they are the only other local veterans' side.

I don't know who Gemma is, but Dawn Butler played Layla the Registrar who celebrated Kirsty's marriage with Philip Moss. She qualified in 1994, so she probably isn't playing yet another sixteen-year-old health professional...
www.mandy.com/uk/voice-artist/dawn-butler-3

Possibly Steph and Beth's mother?
If so, perhaps she is the reason Vince is seeing through Steph?
I think we've been told that Beth has gone off to take shelter with her mum.

I shall be away next weekend, so if someone else feels like gathering up the one-liners, cast and RT, and posting them here, that would be great.
I'll be back for the weekend after.

WhoppingBigBackside · 02/07/2022 14:46

Thanks AskingMight be Mince's ex. Even Pip isn't as bad as the Casey sisters, and that is saying something. My money is on Gemma being a friend of Denise's. No CMR this week.

AmaryIlis · 02/07/2022 17:17

I can totally do without Steph, but Beth comes nowhere near Pip in the teeth-grindingly annoying stakes.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/07/2022 12:27

The Mail has come to hand, so here it is:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 3rd - 8th July 2022
Tough times are coming to Ambridge, causing villagers to revive old skills and cast around for new ones. As they poke around in sheds and attics for bobbins, whittling sticks and illicit stills, Will prepares to showcase some handiwork and Susan is keen for a new challenge.
Helen and Tom are also rethinking their line of work and wondering about adding more artisan products to their portfolio.
Natasha tries to keep busy, while a new opportunity beckons for Tracy - if she can raise her game.
Oliver comes up with a wheeze to bring the village together but, given recent events, he may not be the right man for the job.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/07/2022 12:37

Belated thanks for the many spoilers, Asking! If I remember, I'll post what I can find for next week.

Belated thanks for the many spoilers, Asking! If I remember, I'll post what I can find for next week.

Thank you! I was feeling slightly guilty about it, which is absurd: I need holiday, and TA is only a hobby...

BoreOfWhabylon · 03/07/2022 20:18

Thanks Asking Flowers and please don't feel guilty.

Enjoy your holiday!

WhoppingBigBackside · 04/07/2022 08:33

No need to feel guilty Ask. We value your dedication, but you need and deserve a holiday

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 04/07/2022 15:39

This is a guilt-free zone, Asking - members of the TA production team excepted ...

Venturing far afield? We haven't been abroad for ages. I have vague plans for next spring, but we'll see.

In Asking's absence, here are the spoilers for as far ahead as I can find on the Radio 4 website. Key points that jump out at me - Brad speaks! Also, there is 'Obstetrician' in the cast list for next week and looks like Natasha's mum will be arriving in Ambridge very soon. Aha!

Radio Times 9 - 15 July 2022
Lilian is feeling confident about the future of the Stables, as Shula has come up with what could be a winning idea - but will the ruthless Justin turn out to be a neigh-sayer?
There's more business talk as Helen takes a personal approach to marketing at Bridge Farm, but will Tom be on message? Adam & Ian, meanwhile, find that they've underestimated potential opposition to their culinary plans - can Susan come to the rescue?
Finally, Tracy faces some punishing shifts at the factory, and with Chelsea also busy at work, might it be time for young Brad to find a skill of his own? It's certainly a week of hard Horrobin graft - but will the outcome be filled with hope or heartache?

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update July 10-15
Adam and Ian have known tough times, but all their past strife will seem as nothing when they find themselves facing a formidable foe. They've been tooting about their gussied-up pizza van, little realising that an enemy has watched every move.
Over at the Stables there's further unrest, with much whinnying, rolling of eyes and tossing of manes. This is because Shula's plans and Lilian's business prospects come up against Justin's ruthless streak, which, as we know, is wider than the mighty Am itself.
There's also a bit of a skirmish brewing at Bridge Farm between Helen and Tom, while out in the fields blades are sharpening for an annual Ambridge battle.

Thanks Gasp0de Lots to mull over there.

Quia · 11/07/2022 00:48

Who's Caitlin Thomas? I see it's the actress who played Jan from Casualty playing her.

WhoppingBigBackside · 11/07/2022 10:47

Dylan's wife.

Thanks Gasp.

WhoppingBigBackside · 11/07/2022 13:41

Natasha's mother.

I hope that she's not a 'Gavin & Stacey' type character. From what I remember, she lives in North Wales, but no doubt she'll have a South Wales accent and will use south walian dialect/words.

At least we are having a break from the Caseys.

Madcats · 12/07/2022 17:00

Gosh, that's a lot to take in. Happy holidays to Asking and thank you for the next month to Gasp.

Such an influx of "voices". I hesitate to google them ever since I discovered that Denise is/was Myrna in the Outlaws (I can only picture her like that, now)!

I hope we are saved lots of wailing baby or teen scenes - it's far to hot for anything stressful.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 16/07/2022 13:08

OH and I took turns driving and went two and half thousand miles across various bits of Europe and then came back again. It was fun.

Thanks indeed for taking up the spoilers, Gaspode. It looks as if apart from Daily Mail spoilers if I happen to see them, I don't have anything I need to do until the end of the month, but would people like me to do a weekly collecting as I have before: BBC one-liners, credits and RT and Daily Mail spoilers for the week ahead each weekend?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 16/07/2022 22:08

Starting with this coming week's Daily Mail:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 17th - 22nd July 2022
The future of Grey Gables is a talking point, but will there be any comfort to locals still bruised by the hotel's closure?
As Helen and Tom work on their business marketing, Adam and Ian prepare to try some unusual pizza flavours to launch their new venture.
Oliver seems to have put his foot in it again with Tracy following a well-intentioned act. As her birthday nears, will her family be able to make it special? And with little Rosie's birthday also coming up, Pip has something important to discuss.
Shula feels torn about the next chapter of her life, Lilian needs a change of scene, and the impending arrival of Natasha and Tom's twins leaves them wondering how they'll cope.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 19/07/2022 11:43

Yes please, Asking, and thanks for the DM preview! Glad you had a great trip. What an adventure! We made it as far as Scotland for a few days last week. Very glad indeed we hadn't arranged the trip for this week.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 19/07/2022 13:17

Luckily we went north rather than south, so it was only "it's a bit hot" rather than "thank god the car has airconditioning". And in Sweden it rained for a whole day, so hard at times that it felt as if a garden hose were being played on the windscreen and we slowed down and went along among the lorries to avoid the great big go-to-hell black cars (Saabs, Volvos, BMWs, Mercedes etc) going past at illegally-rather-more-than 120kph in lane 2.

OK, I shall go back to the previous drill at the end of the week.

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/07/2022 17:53

Belated welcome back Asking and pleased you will continue the weekly round-ups.
