Last time she mentioned it, Lynda called it brewshetta.

WhoppingBigBackside · 17/06/2022 20:17

Lynda mispronounces many things, it's what she does.
She calls bergamot bergamow.

The Denise & Al story was flagged wasn't it.

CaptainMyCaptain · 17/06/2022 20:31

But Denise will think it's Jakob that fancies her.

WhoppingBigBackside · 17/06/2022 20:35

Probably

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 17/06/2022 21:00

And of course her husband doesn't understand her.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 19/06/2022 16:53

Apparently there is no spoiler in this week's Mail. Whether it is gone for good, who knows?

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 18th - 24th June 2022
Each year, Lynda faces the tough task of outdoing herself when it comes to organising the opening of the Summer Fete. But how will she beat the booking of viral sensation Jackie Weaver in 2021?
In other news, Ben is feeling apprehensive as his journey into nursing sees him start working in a hospital. And with both Fathers' Day and Chris's birthday scheduled for the same week, protective dad Neil is determined not to let Alice get things all her own way when it comes to little Martha. But Chris & Alice also have business to discuss - and, finally, it seems there's an opportunity for the warring pair to find some common ground.

For the record, it hasn't been Usha Gupta for a very long time; she changed her surname to Franks when she married, and the cast-list usually reflects this. Is this a hint at divorce, or merely carelessness by someone in the TA website team?

WhoppingBigBackside · 19/06/2022 18:31

Carelessness probably.

Thanks Asking

After tonight I am not sure. The vindictive Usha was being nice to someone who could be seen as having done harm to her or hers; she can't be long for this world.

TottersBlankly · 20/06/2022 19:29

Thanks, Asking.

So I guess Sam will be the Social Worker? This is not the SL I was expecting, at all.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 20/06/2022 20:03

Seems possible. It seems a bit sad if professionals are called by nothing but their first name, but probably it is what happens.

I would have thought, though, that when introducing himself someone from the social services ought to give a surname, because those are how the fifteen Sams (Beths, Steves, Sues, Petes, Janes) in the department are told apart.

TottersBlankly · 20/06/2022 20:16

Well, my only other idea is that it’s Sam - returned to Ambridge for whatever reason.

It would make sense of the Steph nonsense played out with marriage advice from Mr and Mrs Perfect Couple at Brookfield.

And Kirsty caught in the middle.

And - something else I’ve now forgotten.

Haven’t bothered to google who played Sam before - because although fun to imagine, it seems highly unlikely!

She hasn't been vindictive for decades, has she?

WhoppingBigBackside · 21/06/2022 19:33

Might Sam be the social worker?
I don't think it will be Sam from Kursedy and WR's pasts, but I might be wrong

She hasn't been vindictive for decades, has she?

Except when she has been. Her behaviour to her husband last Christmas being a recent example. She took a nasty pleasure in making fools of everyone who had ben sympathetic when they thought he would be alone for Christmas, too.

Good bit of foresight there!

WhoppingBigBackside · 22/06/2022 19:55

If Adil stays and becomes Mr Kursedy II, I hope that they change how they say his name. The Ar-dil is not right.

The name is عادل, and is neare Ah-dil or 'Adil.

I know two Adels and they say it as Addle. Both names stem from ع د ل

WhoppingBigBackside · 22/06/2022 19:57

Totters got there before I did, Ask

Kristiffur kidnapping Marthyr seems quite a possibility, and I think that Radil and Kursedy will pair up

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 24/06/2022 21:24

Since I think the Mail has given up on their Archers Updates I might as well post the rest today.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 26th June - 1st July 2022
Adil hasn’t exactly got off to the best start in Ambridge, having taken over Grey Gables and then made most of the workforce redundant. And one of his fiercest critics remains Lynda, who has rarely been known to back down from a fight. Aware that he’s still in her bad books, Adil needs some ideas on how to break the ice. Enter Kirsty with a plan, all of which adds to Adil sharing details of his past and demonstrating a hidden skill.
Tom and Helen are keen to impress as they look to make up for some lost business thanks to the closure of that aforementioned hotel. And as Ben experiences a challenging week, he finds himself in need of family members to help him through a crisis.

================================================================
As Adam sensibly pointed out, Adil has not taken over Grey Gables nor made anyone redundant; he is not the new owner.

WhoppingBigBackside · 24/06/2022 22:00

Thanks Asking.
The appearance of Sol should be interesting. I hope that Chelsea and the Casey sisters don't dominate.

TheLassWiADelicateAir · 26/06/2022 12:37

Oh good, Russ is back.

Every time Russ is in the cast I hope that it is because he is going to get his comeuppance.

Lily's one-nighter Sol is back as well.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 26/06/2022 17:50

Someone has posted a spoiler on another board:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 26th June - 1st July 2022
Fabrice of Felpersham will be run off his dainty feet as partymania hits Ambridge. Lily probably won’t bother him, though, as she’s keen to let her hair down. Will her Mr Jones be able to keep up with the pace, or will he feel a twinge of regret about his dodgy May-September relationship with a former pupil?
Chris and Alice have plenty of time for regret as they wait for a key piece of information that’s of huge importance for their futures.
Roy and Adil keep working on their awkward work/mates relationship, while Tom and Helen go flat out to repair the damage done by the closure of Grey Gables - but these are tricky times, and they may be in for a bit of a shock.
