Spoiler thread for The Archers. Please keep all spoiler-related discussion in this thread and do not spill the beans on the main Archers Thread (hence the zipped mouth on the emoji!). I'm curiously conflicted by equally not caring less and wanting to know which Ambridger is idiotic enough to do this.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 14/04/2022 12:58

How does the Easter Bunny escape from its fans after its appearances? I would expect them to chase after it in an excited way.

Either it won't be revealed, or it won't speak, or it will be one of the cast for the week. Unless of course they have kept it out of the cast-list.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 14/04/2022 13:03

Brian, Ben, Jolene, Alice, Vince, Ian, Ruairi, Tracy, Elizabeth, Freddie, Adil,
Lynda, Oliver, Roy...

Of those, I would put half-a-crown on Alice because of her saying on one occasion that she wasn't going to go and try to find it, and making it clear she wasn't interested in trying to work out who it was.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/04/2022 13:08

Getaway: fast open-topped car stationed nearby, engine running, bunny throws itself in and it speeds away? As to who's inside the suit, I did wonder in an idle moment if this is Robert Glenister's main contribution, but I expect that's even sillier than the storyline. Easter Grin

Also, everyone is referring to the Easter Bunny as 'he/him' to me suggests that it's a she

EB has some flexibilty with his or her time, so could be someone like Joy.

WhoppingBigBackside · 14/04/2022 13:14

Ooh. Maybe it's Jill & Leonard

WhoppingBigBackside · 14/04/2022 19:47

Had a peak in the RT and there aren't many in the cast list. Lynda, Jerlene, Tracey and Alice are in it, as is Adil

BTW, in the RT Lynda got spelt as Lynda and Linda, and as I have probably mentioned a few times, IMO she just isn't a Linda

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 14/04/2022 23:59

That's her opinion too, as expressed forcibly to Susan when it was spelt wrong on the name-badge Susan got made for her to wear as a volunteer in the shop.

WhoppingBigBackside · 15/04/2022 14:14

I can't picture Susan as a Sue either. Strangely, all the Susans I know apart from one are called Sue (or Soo or Su)

Fulmine · 15/04/2022 23:33

One liners coming up include a shock for Pat and a sad goodbye in Ambridge. At first I thought it would be Tony snuffing it, but it's probably going to be Peggy, isn't it?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/04/2022 06:35

Kathy? My hunch is Oliver announces he's selling up and Kathy silently packs up and leaves in high dudgeon. All relayed by Pat.

I'm away all day and possibly tomorrow as well, so I won't be putting up the Mail spoilers until tomorrow at the earliest.

Have a good Easter, everyone!

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 17th - 21st April 2022
First, the big news: the Easter Bunny mystery is finally solved, as the mask slips. To borrow a chant from a certain Saturday-night ITV singing contest, “Take it off! Take it off!”
In more serious matters, a party for Ruairi at Willow Cottage spirals out of control. But will Ben drop his mate in it, or will Ruairi confess what is really going on with him?
At Lower Loxley, meanwhile, there’s panic at the Easter celebrations as Freddie makes a promise he might not be able to keep. And at Grey Gables, Ian faces a kitchen nightmare - but some surprise information from Oliver soon eclipses everything. Also, Alice drops a bombshell on Brian.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 17/04/2022 00:04

@WhoppingBigBackside

Thanks Asking. Have a great weekend!
I'm having a terrific time with about four hundred old friends I haven't seen for two years, and another four hundred I have yet to meet; it's terrific.

And I have the Mail spoilers, too:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 17th - 21st April 2022
Ruairi bounced back into Ambridge in his fancy new clothes, dispensing gifts and treats left, right and centre - except to Alice of course - just like the Easter Bunny. Jennifer, a woman easily deceived when it comes to her family members, bubbled over with delight, but others, and Ruairi's old mate Ben is top of that list, were not so gullible. Since then Ruairi's behaviour has been, even by Aldridge standards, erratic, so it's all going to kick off - if you are invited to his party at Willow Cottage, stay close to the door.
There's also Easter trouble over at Grey Gables for Ian and a bombshell for Brian from Alice, while the identity of that rather creepy Easter Bunny is finally revealed.

I am still wondering why Ben, last week, was being called "the younger set" when he was the only one Ruairi had told about his sugarmummy.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 17/04/2022 00:06

In fact
"There are shocked faces all round when Ruairi reveals what happened in London."
and
"prompting the younger Ambridge set to gather round to hear tales of life in That London, but will their rural ears be prepared for what he has to say?"

were both bollocks.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 17/04/2022 10:11

Many thanks, Asking!

I'm only catching bits of The Archers over the school hols.

Is Ruari still at Uni as well as drinking £80 bottles of wine (which is presumably a £10-£15 bottle from the wholesaler)?

KimikosNightmare · 20/04/2022 19:12

What will Alice's bombshell to Brian be?
Something about Ruari? All she knows is he had a party whilst Brian and Jenny were away and got drunk. Not ideal, but hardly a bombshell.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 20/04/2022 22:08

Her solicitor has told her that Chris's solicitor wants a farm valuation done.

In which case, I think, the correct reponse would be, "Fine. But you can pay for it."

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 21/04/2022 17:36

I am posting this a day early because although I don't yet have all four parts, I want to find out whether posting on it will cause this thread to move from "I'm on" to "I'm watching". Bear with me; the new site is driving me round the bend with its quirks and quiddities.

BBC One-Liners
24 Apr Ian makes plans for the future and there’s an emergency on the cricket pitch
25 Apr Brian faces an uphill struggle and opportunity knocks for Tracy.
26 Apr Tracy tries to make a good impression and debate rages about the future of Home Farm.
27 Apr There’s a difficult question for Susan, and Clarrie is feeling left out.
28 Apr Jazzer makes a big gesture and Adam puts his plan into action.

I'll add the BBC Ambridge Diary and the Daily Mail Archers Update when I get them, probably on Saturday.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 21/04/2022 17:39

It didn't work. Oh well. Any new thread I post to is added to "I'm watching", but not one that is already in "I'm on", it seems.

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/04/2022 18:32

Thanks @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime
I think you can change that in 'customise' (click little down arrow next to 'Talk' in top left)

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 21/04/2022 20:46

I already have "Automatically watch threads I post on" as a "yes" but it doesn't seem to have worked. Yet. It may come right in the end, I suppose. (Won't bring back all the threads I was watching which are now gone, though.)
