Honestly, I sometimes feel that all I have to do is post next week's info and I immediately get sent some more!

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 9th - 13th January 2022
Pat's ghastly vegetarian stew is off the menu up at Bridge Farm as Tom and Natasha take over the kitchen to cook a 70th birthday meal for her. Don't be tempted to drop in there, though, as the chances are high that tempers will boil over.
There's also tension over at Home Farm, where Stella has to deal with a dilemma and set some boundaries.
Things are also a little uneasy between Pip and Josh as they get a bit territorial, so it's a good thing that cheery Mike Tucker is doing the rounds, spreading cheer and helping out wherever he's needed - or is it?
Meanwhile, Peggy stuns Tony when she lays her cards on the table.

======================================================================
Doesn't really add much. Oh well.

WhoppingBigBackside · 08/01/2022 19:10

Thanks Asking
Looking forward to Pat's birthday, Grin
Pip - yuk, Peggy- boop

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 08/01/2022 19:47

It is on Monday.

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/01/2022 04:44

Thanks Asking. Looks like Peggy is set to fall for whatever Hazel is up to.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 16/01/2022 12:05

And yet again the worst is being heralded. Or to put it another way, here are this week's collected vague prophecies, plus actual credits.

BBC One-Liners
16 Jan Fallon puts her foot in it and Jazzer attempts to balance his books.
17 Jan Kenton unleashes his inner dragon and Phoebe has reservations.
18 Jan Alice causes concern and Leonard makes a pitch.
19 Jan Chris contemplates his future while tempers flare at The Bull.
20 Jan Harrison offers support and Jim’s plan proves surprisingly dangerous.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 16th - 20th January 2022
It feels like we've only just marked New Year, yet the Bull is already planning its Valentine's Day celebrations. Kenton and Jolene invite suggestions from village residents, but once they try to sort the wheat from the chaff, they start to believe that the event may be doomed.
Alice, meanwhile, is about to have an evening out with Phoebe and Lily, who both have concerns about partying with a recovering alcoholic. And it isn't long before Alice proves their worries to be well-founded......
Chris finds that the stress of the last couple of months is starting to take its toll, relations between Harrison and Fallon begin to sour, and Hazel's new tenant is finally revealed.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 6th - 20th January 2022
A night on the town with Alice can be a tense affair. Has she got a couple of miniatures stowed away in her handbag? Is that just tonic water she’s drinking? Are all those trips to the loo a cover? So, when Alice plans a night out with Phoebe and Lily, many Ambridgers get edgy - and the glaziers of Borsetshire prepare for a boom in business. The night out does turn out to be a tricky fixture, but not in the way that anyone expected.
Then, another socially fraught occasion looms when The Bull invites suggestions for Valentine’s Day, and gets a pitch that proves surprisingly dangerous.
Meanwhile, Jazzer tackles his finances, and Hazel’s new tenant is revealed.

LiterallyKnowsBest · 16/01/2022 12:22

Hazel’s new tenant? Unless they’re silent next week it can surely only be Phoebe or Leonard? And not Jazzer or Lily??

It does seem unlikely that someone other than Hazel would be announcing the news if the new tenant is Stella.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/01/2022 13:51

Many thanks, Asking!

Re flat: surely Leonard couldn't manage the stairs? Phoebe's finances are a total mystery to me but if it's her where's the rent money coming from?

Inner dragon - Dragon's Den? I only watch that by accident so have little clue about it. I assume it's the business of asking for Valentine's Day ideas that's meant. How odd for an Ambridge business to start planning a special event more than a couple of days before.

OP posts:
AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 16/01/2022 15:00

Maybe someone who is not the tenant sees whoever it is moving stuff in, and spreads the word.

WhoppingBigBackside · 17/01/2022 13:38

Thanks Asking

LiterallyKnowsBest · 17/01/2022 19:13

So it’s Phoebe! ? Hmm

And thank you, Asking!

LiterallyKnowsBest · 20/01/2022 14:35

So, it’s not!

Don’t think I’d even considered Chris and Martha.

Still, Phoebe might be moving on soon anyway.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 20/01/2022 17:12

It was so obvious that someone with a year-old baby and a buggy would choose to move into a small flat at the top of a flight of steep outside steps, right? Not spotting it makes us all look like idiots.

Or not.

I think I'll go with "not".

WhoppingBigBackside · 21/01/2022 10:34

It's ideal for someone with twins though. I posted on t'other thread that two shallow steps were a PITA with a double buggy.

I picture the buggy being left at the foot of the stairs.

Maybe Twitasha can rent The Nest while Alcie is off designing planes

Carrying one baby up the stairs would be bad enough but leaving one baby at the bottom and carrying the other up then leaving that one at the top and going to fetch the other one would be a nightmare. Trust me, I know, I have twin grandsons.
WhoppingBigBackside · 21/01/2022 17:44

Tom is completely clueless. I wouldn't want to be heavily pregnant walking up and down steep stairs never mind if it was twins

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 22/01/2022 14:46

More of the much-drama. Not sure I really pay too much attention to either the one-liners or the spoilers, but here they are anyway:

BBC One-Liners
23 Jan It’s the end of the road for David while Pip is on a mission.
24 Jan Josh questions whether he’s up to the task and Leonard offers some sound advice.
25 Jan There’s an unexpected guest at Brookfield, and the green-eyed monster strikes for Jill.
26 Jan Alistair comes to the rescue and Kenton has a game plan.
27 Jan Will calm be restored at Brookfield? And there’s a proud moment for Jill.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 23rd - 27th January 2022
There's an unexpected visitor at Brookfield who isn't exactly the shy and retiring type. In fact, she's making a beeline for Leonard, which sees Jill quickly turn into a green-eyed monster. But will the family matriarch see off the competition? And how will Leonard react as two women start fighting over him?
Tensions are also mounting for Josh and Pip, whose bickering stretches across the week. But when disaster strikes, will they be able to park their differences for the greater good and finally learn to work together? Plus, Ben is presented with an opportunity to practise his nursing skills. And David & Ruth have a rare night out, only for the party to turn sour.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 23rd - 27th January 2022
Let’s not forget that Leonard once tried to pass off someone else’s work as his own. This was in the early days of his wooing of Jill, when the retired civil engineer wanted to be thought of as some kind of Renaissance man who could turn out a perfectly decent watercolour when needed; then, he got found out. Let’s hope this act of deception was an aberration and - when another woman comes steaming up the Brookfield front path and makes a play for him - he won’t go breaking the saintly Jill’s heart.
There will be other tensions behind the brick and timber of Brookfield as Josh and Pip, spoiling for a fight, find they need to work together when disaster strikes.

WhoppingBigBackside · 22/01/2022 14:50

Can we expect Ben to be nursing Leonard or Iris after Jill has thrown a flapjack at them?

Pip and Josh squabbling. Can't wait.

At least I have my lovely Shula to look forward to.

Thanks Asking

LiterallyKnowsBest · 22/01/2022 15:37

It’ll be David who has the accident. (Though I’m guessing they wouldn’t use a phrase like ‘end of the road’ if it were fatal.

So Beth’s mum turns up to inspect Ben??

LiterallyKnowsBest · 22/01/2022 15:38

Thanks Asking! The weeks seem to come round so fast nowadays …

Iris Casey is Vince's mother, not his ex-wife; so it's Beth's gran who turns up. That means she'll be the one making a play for Leonard, I suppose.
LiterallyKnowsBest · 22/01/2022 17:12

Yes, I actually meant her Grandmother!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/01/2022 10:52

Thanks, Asking! A full week of Brookfield, whoopee doo. It will be nice to hear Jill again, though. She reminds me a bit of my mum, which means I am mostly very fond of her in spite of certain irritating qualities.

Another love triangle. Yawn.

I'm a little late with this; I managed to get myself a day out this week, by some means I totally don't understand. Anyway, here it is now, for what it is worth.

BBC One-Liners
30 Jan Kate heads down the wrong path and Brian argues his point.
31 Jan Alice makes a dramatic decision and Susan bonds with an unexpected person.
01 Feb Chris is forced to let go and Ian hatches a plan.
02 Feb Jennifer tries to do the right thing and Kenton may have found the answer to his prayers.
03 Feb Phoebe drops a bombshell and Chris is struggling.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 30th January - 3rd February 2022
Barely a week goes by without Alice giving Brian and Jennifer fresh reasons to raise their eyebrows. Now she makes a surprise decision that leaves her parents reeling. Jennifer feels it necessary to be cruel to be kind, but her risky strategy may well backfire.
Also, Phoebe's mysterious behaviour sets tongues wagging, with Kate quickly getting hold of the wrong end of the stick. It's dad Roy in whom Phoebe eventually confides, but how will he react to what she has to say?
Over at Bridge Farm, Susan and Adam discover they have more in common than they realised as they work together in the dairy. But Ian isn't happy when Adam issues an unexpected invitation.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 30th January - 3rd February 2022
Who would have thought that Susan and Adam, dressed in their hair nets and overalls, would have formed a bond over the yoghurt pots at Bridge Farm? If you are surprised by this unlikely liaison, just think how already much put-upon Ian feels about the prospect of having Susan dropping in for little chats at Honeysuckle Cottage, fingering the loose fittings and offering recipe suggestions. While Ian grits his teeth, Kenton and Jolene gnaw away at a favourite old bone - Valentine's Day at The Bull.
Meanwhile, Alice - as is her way - leaves Jennifer and Brian reeling with an unexpected decision, Kate - as is also her way - gets things wrong and, when one Ambridger falls ill, chaos ensues.

================

Why is Adam working in the dairy? Clarrie was off work with a migraine. If that migraine has lasted three weeks, sh is dying of a brain tumour or something. I hope they will let us know.

8 Feb Wires are crossed for Chelsea, and Phoebe is on a mission.

But will the experience ultimately prove to be positive for them both? And what is the heartfelt gift that leaves Kirsty stunned?
Chelsea, meanwhile, has a date, but with a disapproving Mia issuing a warning, will the evening go as planned? Plus, Phoebe continues to face the consequences of her decision - while Kate struggles to accept the inevitable.
