Radio Times Ambridge Diary 14th - 18th November 2021
Ambridge is going all out to make Eddie and Clarrie's vow renewal celebrations sing. But despite everyone going the extra mile, there's the risk that the event will end up careering out of control. Hence Mia making an attempt to save the day - but will anyone listen to her?
Willow Farm becomes a scene of tension after Kirsty drops a bombshell, but how will Roy react to her decision? And as Kirsty continues to struggle, the effects will also be felt at rehearsals for the Mysteries, where Lynda ends up having to play her trump card.
Meanwhile, the new boy at Bridge Farm gets his feet under the table, leaving others in fear of being trampled. And Elizabeth offers a gift that's too good to refuse.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 12/11/2021 09:03

Thanks, Asking! I wonder if Elizabeth's gift is for Rex, i.e. accommodation somewhere near his pigs.

EdmontinaDancesWithOphelia · 12/11/2021 09:14

Has to happen!

In fifty years Rex will be the new Bert. Only so much better connected.

Thank you for the various teasers, Asking.

WhoppingBigBackside · 12/11/2021 16:22

Thanks Asking. The Grundy stuff isn't making me look forward to it.

On the positive side, no Pip

Platax · 15/11/2021 12:46

I do hope Mia is going to put her foot down effectively. Not sure I can bear to listen to several episodes of Eddie blagging even more outrageous freebies, poor Oliver worrying about his ballroom, Grundy guests trashing the place and Clarrie working her fingers to the bone cleaning up.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 15/11/2021 20:31

What I was sent today may be of help, or not.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 14th - 18th November 2021
Clarrie’s hands are red and swollen from her years of hard toil. It’s a struggle for her to get the engagement ring, that she had to buy for herself, over her finger - and her years trying to keep the Grundy family afloat have taken their toll.
Despite all this and not forgetting Eddie’s various dodgy schemes and infatuation with Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jo-lee-ee-ene Clarrie’s still throwing herself into the whole vow renewal farrago. The rest of the village, desperate for some light relief, are also behind the caper, which means that things quickly start to spiral out of control.
Meanwhile, there’s little to celebrate at Willow Farm, where Kirsty, burdened with worries, drops a bombshell. Will Lynda’s efforts to help the much put-upon Kirsty do more harm than good?

==================================
Gosh, it's going to be such a wonderful week, isn't it.

(Said with the enthusiasm normally accorded to finding a dead hedgehog in the fridge.)

ILoveShula · 16/11/2021 14:28

Thanks AQATT

The vow renewal stuff is dire

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 19/11/2021 15:21

Somebody I saw at the weekend has tested positive for covid, and I am feeling a bit ropey but haven't got test result back yet, so I shall post this now in case I feel like not doing anything tomorrow.

BBC One-Liners
21 Nov It’s a big day for Eddie and Clarrie, and Oliver steps up to the mark.
22 Nov Lynda’s feeling a cut above the rest while Jazzer and Will hatch a plan.
23 Nov Chelsea strikes a deal and Ruth feels bogged down.
24 Nov Ed tries to keep a lid on it while the cat’s out of the bag for Alan.
25 Nov Jazzer asks for help and Chelsea lends a hand.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 21st - 25th November 2021
Preparing for her appointment with royalty, Lynda decides to put her trust in Chelsea. But will doing so ensure that Lilian gets the last laugh? At the Mysteries, meanwhile, we get Mia and Chelsea thrown together, which lends proceedings a definite air of mischief.
Eddie is determined that everything will run smoothly as he and Clarrie prepare to renew their vows. But his first mistake is to entrust Ed with keeping things shipshape in his absence. Despite Ed’s steady steering, it doesn’t take much to rock the boat.
Also this week, Josh has to work hard to keep his temper in check. And can Blake be convinced to accept help from a very unexpected source?

ILoveShula · 19/11/2021 16:03

Thanks Asking

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 20/11/2021 18:18

And just in:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 21st - 25th November 2021 Lynda prepares to meet royalty this week, but is royalty prepared to meet La Snell? Should we be alerting the Palace? Will she try to recruit some blue blood for her Ambridge Mysteries? And should Lynda really be putting her trust in Chelsea, giving Lilian the chance to have the last laugh? While we brood on these matters, Ed steadies himself to take over the running of the various ramshackle Grundy enterprises so that Eddie and Clarrie get through the whole wedding vows renewal shindig and second honeymoon without a hitch. Good luck with that. Meanwhile, Oliver ruffles Grange Farm feathers, and Josh has to bite his tongue.

Oh, do tell me Oliver has just realised he said the Grundys could stay at Grange Farm until Joe died there, and that has now happened so he can sling them out....

LiterallyKnowsBest · 20/11/2021 21:10

Fingers crossed for you to stay well AQATT. (I’m in London for the first time since the first lockdown and can’t imagine how I might possibly escape the viral consequences. The few people here who still possess a mask own only a ragged, chewed up thing designed to warm their chin and not touch any other part of their face. And I’m spending an inordinate amount of time in a (very nice indeed) work cafeteria, where everyone necessarily has to remove said chin decoration, almost more for conversation than consumption.)

Liking the sound of Chelsea and Mia sharing an episode. Wonder how they’ll develop over the next fifty years …

LiterallyKnowsBest · 20/11/2021 21:11

Fingers crossed for you to stay well AQATT.

Can't be done, I fear; positive antigen test this morning, and an appointment tomorrow morning for a PCR test which I expect to be positive; I have all the symptoms of a stinking cold at the moment. Nothing worse, though, so far. Having had two doses (and the booster was to have been on Tuesday, spit!) I might be lucky enough to have a mild bout. OH says gloomily that this is something that might kill me and would I please be careful but I am not sure how to do that retrospectively.

LiterallyKnowsBest · 20/11/2021 23:24

Oh dear … Well I’ll cross my fingers for a mild illness and a swift recovery. (Though that sounds a bit glib.) Sorry it’s caught up with you.

I’d hoped to get my booster before my First Trip Out Since - but couldn’t book it for earlier than next week.

It really is time for someone in Ambridge - a few someones, in fact - to encounter the virus. Though it would perhaps be in poor taste to wonder what was on Bert’s death certificate …

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 21/11/2021 11:38

Sorry to hear you're under the weather, Asking. Fingers crossed for a very speedy recovery and an extremely mild illness. Thanks for the spoilers.

I am gloomily not looking forward to a week written by Sarah McDonald-Hughes, whose work has not impressed me much so far. But then, this week is liable to be a bit meh anyway; coldiness continues with horrid sore throat. Ice cream is clearly called for, and luckily we have some in the house.
BeaLola · 21/11/2021 23:11

Who is the unexpected source of help for Blake ?

Jim Lloyd - the Jazzer connection
Peggy - how would he cross paths with her?
David - he could do work on the Barn (again)

Far out thought - Natasha !

I just popped over to see whether I should bother to listen in Sounds or wait for Sunday.

Wishing Asking a speedy recovery.

Drink lots, take some paracetamol, top up your zinc and vitamin D levels and get an oximeter.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 26/11/2021 17:35

I have done the drag-out-of-bed bit just for you, so I hope you are all grateful! Not that there is much to be grateful for at the moment; still, at least next week's writer is not Sarah McDonald-Hughes. But is Stimpson any better?

BBC One-Liners

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 28th November - 2nd December 2021
It’s the moment for which Lynda has been waiting the whole year (and maybe her entire life) as she collects her MBE. But first, we have the rehearsals for the Mysteries growing ever-more complicated. Then there’s Lilian’s last-minute crisis of confidence to deal with. Will Lynda be able to let go of the reins long enough to receive her honour?
Elsewhere, one villager is left reeling when he’s faced with some uncomfortable truths in a newspaper article, but can Harrison rescue the situation? Meanwhile, Mia discovers that she has a kindred spirit. Rex has reservations and Peggy finds herself face to face with a ghost from her past. But what does it want?

LiterallyKnowsBest · 26/11/2021 17:59

Glad to see your latest instalment, Asking! I can’t be the only person loitering here who has wondered been hoping you’re ok. Thank you.

Why’s nasty Hazel sniffing around?Angry
