How intriguing! Full Brookfield turnout could be for either - Bert being so interwoven with the family. They’re obviously having fun confusing us.

Thanks for the SWs and cast lists, Gasp0de.

BoreOfWhabylon · 25/10/2021 16:42

Hmm... Deffo a dedding. My money was on Jill as the actress is sounding increasingly wobbly, but Trevor turningnup does point to Bert.

What about Olly and the Grundys though? What's afoot? And where is Wiwyum?

And Harrison AND an Inspector? Has Kirsty tracked down the traffickers and reunited Bleak with his friends?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 25/10/2021 18:05

I'll just throw in these, for this week:

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 24th - 28th October 2021
That sound you hear of someone clearing their throat is Bert Fry getting ready to launch into one of his excruciating poems at the Brookfield Harvest Supper. Can someone gag him before he commits a crime in rhyme?
Rex, meanwhile, is desperate to impress his visiting dad with the rewilding enterprise, only for events to spiral out of control. And as Halloween plans develop at Lower Loxley, Russ and Freddie find themselves on different pages - with Lily bearing the brunt after her brother jumps to conclusions.
Plus Jolene is faced with an impossible choice at the Bull, Beth tries to come to the aid of Ben when he faces a crisis, and there's a terrible shock in store for Ruth....

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 24th - 28th October 2021
With a bit of luck, Jennifer Aldridge’s haymakers’ pie won’t be on the menu for this year’s harvest supper. Those of us who’ve had to soldier through a slab of the stuff will know that it lingers long in the memory - and the digestive system. Instead, those at the table will have to contend with Bert Fry’s doggerel, a bewildering selection of desserts, and the ever lurking possibility of another ding-dong family row.
While they tuck in at Brookfield, Halloween plans are afoot at Lower Loxley, raising hopes that another horror will unfold among the spurge laurel.
Meanwhile, Ben faces a crisis, Ruth gets a shock, and a Fairbrother returns to Ambridge - bringing, as is the Fairbrother way, a whole heap of trouble with him.

BorsetshireBanality · 25/10/2021 19:26

Julian Rhind-Tutt, a posh sounding actor and not how I would in image the son of Bert and Freda Fry to look!

Oh I do like him. He was excellent in "Welcome to our Village, Please invade Carefully"
CaptainMyCaptain · 27/10/2021 08:13

I love Julian Rhind-Tutt. Loved him in Green Wing.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 30/10/2021 12:15

"a Fairbrother returns to Ambridge - bringing, as is the Fairbrother way, a whole heap of trouble with him." from last week was a load of old foetid dingoes' kidneys. Robin Fairbrother didn't even speak, and brought no trouble that I noticed apart from mild irritation to Rex.

I think it makes sense for me to go on giving each week as it comes (except when I forget) even if we have got spoilers up to three weeks' time: it keeps them all in one place, as it were, for ease of reference. So

BBC One-Liners
31 Oct Kenton braces himself for disappointment and Lilian puts her plan into action.
1 Nov Harrison faces a dilemma and Toby is running out of options.
2 Nov Rex faces his future and Kirsty discovers a shocking plot.
3 Nov Kirsty is on a mission and Lilian puts her foot in it.
4 Nov Kirsty is left with an impossible choice and Tom and Natasha have expansion on their mind.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 31st October - 4th November 2021
This being Halloween week it’s only appropriate that we get a haunting in the village. But with Kirsty having experienced so much trauma of late it feels unfair for her now to be getting a visit from a ghost from her past. But what do they want? And what will be the cost to her?
Over at The Bull, we have Kenton bracing himself for disappointment where his spooky evening’s entertainment is concerned. But when the event gets going, he’s in for a surprise. And Harrison is left facing a serious dilemma when one resident reveals a shocking plan. Elsewhere, Lynda prepares for a date with destiny, but will a crisis with The Mysteries end up souring her mood?

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 31st October - 4th November 2021
Here we sit, atop Lakey Hill and its ancient burial grounds, as night falls and the autumnal mists mingle with the smoke from early bonfires. Unearthly moans rise up. Could it be Jack Woolley’s long-dead dog, Captain, or the lingering echoes of Nigel Pargetter from his curiously protracted fall from the Lower Loxley roof? No. It’s the combined cries of various Ambridgers that rend the air. Harrison’s caught on the horns of a dilemma, Lynda has a date with destiny, Kenton’s preparing himself for disappointment, Lilian puts her foot in it, and one of the Fairbrother brothers is running out of options.
All these woes are as nothing, though, as Kirsty faces up to ghosts from the past and wonders what they want of her.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So then; it is good to have it officially noted that Tom and Natasha have only one mind between them, but what trauma has Kirsty suffered recently? Someone refusing to speak to her? She surely ought to be used to that; she's nearly as boring as Trevor.

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/10/2021 14:47

Thanks Asking Wonder who Kirsty's GFTP could be?

Sausage Boy?
Patrick?
Rob The Knob?
Philip/Gavin?
or some previously-unmentioned person who links to a previously-unmentioned backstory?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 30/10/2021 17:30

Thanks, Asking!

Madcats · 31/10/2021 16:50

Another Bleak Week.

I've never really understood why Kirsty hasn't moved from Ambridge.

Most sites in the village must bring back bad memories of either Philip or Sausage man. There must be jobs aplenty in hospitality, instead of folding towels in Oliver's failing hotel.

ILoveShula · 01/11/2021 07:23

Thanks Asking

EdmontinaDancesWithOphelia · 04/11/2021 05:23

Yup! On Twitter too.

(Was Blithe Spirit really 2014? Glimpsed an old Express headline on Google, with photo of Julian Rhind-Tutt - who clearly loves TA.)

Ho hum - 🎄resistance futile from now on.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 04/11/2021 10:56

Yes, Blithe Spirit was in 2014.

ambridgereporter.org.uk/Village_Entertainments.html

Followed by Calendar Girls in 2015, about which the less said the better. As a radio play it was a splendid rowing-boat.

BoreOfWhabylon · 04/11/2021 19:09

Hah!
The 🔮 is preening as another prognostication comes to pass.

BoreOfWhabylon · 04/11/2021 19:10

Meant to post on main thread Blush

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 04/11/2021 19:18

Add
Philip Moss: Andy Hockley
to the cast-list for the week.

I find their thinking it clever not to include an actor they feel we might not expect very tedious.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 06/11/2021 12:45

As before, I can't give the Daily Mail Archers Update until (unless) I am sent it, but here is the rest for next week:

BBC One-Liners
7 Nov A fit of the blues drags down Kirsty, while Tony smells a rat.
8 Nov Johnny’s hackles are raised at work, and Lynda feels betrayed.
9 Nov Oliver’s kindness knows no bounds, and Lillian takes a bow.
10 Nov It’s full steam ahead for the Grundys, and Oliver finds himself on a pedestal.
11 Nov The walls close in on Kirsty, and Natasha makes her presence felt.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 7th - 11th November 2021
Listeners who love inter-family fallouts are well served as one member of the Archer clan pushes for sweeping, controversial changes at Home Farm. With no one else prepared to give any ground, tempers soon start to fray. But who will emerge victorious?
Kirsty feels like the walls are closing in as she faces a terrible dilemma that will have dire consequences either way. And despite an unexpected village resident giving her brief respite, a decision still has to be made.
Clarrie and Eddie's vow renewal date is fast approaching, but Oliver is in danger of having his good nature taken advantage of. And Eddie's dreams for his big day are threatening to spiral out of control...

==============================================================
You know, I feel sure there is something wrong with that RT diary's first paragraph. For one thing, I suspect they mean intra-family (within a family) not inter-family (between families), because only one lot of Archers is in the cast. For another, since the family that does speak lives at Bridge Farm and not Home Farm (and the Home Farm people are Aldridges not Archers), I seriously doubt Home Farm has much to do with the week's episodes. But we shall see.

ILoveShula · 06/11/2021 14:16

Thanks Asking. I agree with you.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/11/2021 14:20

Thanks, Asking! I agree they meant Bridge Farm.

OP posts:
EdmontinaDancesWithOphelia · 06/11/2021 14:22

Yes … It would be hard for Adam to engage in any terribly effective family fall-out when no other Home Farm person appears next week!

Thanks though!

ILoveShula · 06/11/2021 14:25

Isn't Adam working at Fridge Barm now? Maybe he has a loud argument with JD & Brine about Home Farm on his phone and Lil and Moany hear and join in

Platax · 07/11/2021 17:30

Inspector Norris? I do hope that is someone in whom Kirsty confides Phil's blackmail and they come up with some cunning plan to turn it all against him. Presumably if they can arrest Victoria and her cronies the threat to Bleak substantially reduces.

ITakeCharge · 08/11/2021 01:26

Adam is so petulant he could start an argument in an empty room..... if only he wasn't too tired all the time.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 09/11/2021 12:24

The Daily Mail spoilers have come to hand. Better late than never.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 7th - 11th November 2021
Kirsty is struggling with a terrible dilemma that could have dire consequences either way. Support from an unexpected resident gives brief respite, but she can’t put off her decision for ever.
One member of the Archer clan, meanwhile, pushes for sweeping changes at Bridge Farm, but as you would expect, tempers are fraying and plans are going nowhere fast - so, who will come out on top?
And with Clarrie and Eddie’s vows renewal date fast approaching, Oliver is dishing out favours - but is his good nature being taken advantage of, and will he live to regret his kindness?
Also this week, Tony is feeling hounded, Lynda thinks she may have found her saviour, and one Ambridger finds themselves in deep trouble.

===========================================
So it does look as if "Home Farm" was a mento (mental typo) by the RT.
