Well I for one appreciated Phoebe's contribution, I never would have guessed they were trying to make Noluthando like a mini-Kate if she hadn't said. It seems obvious now she said it but I'm a bit dense like that.

I think Roy was just trying to save Oliver from having to deal with a stressful restaurant crisis, so his lies were entirely well-intentioned.

Noluthando seems considerably brighter than Kate, hence picking her up on the non-vegan wine etc. I hoped she was going to follow in Phoebe's footsteps by coming to stay with Brine and Jenny and getting brilliant A levels.

I thought Noli was being a fairly typical 16 year old wearing her headphones & calling Kate out for hypocrisy. Very ‘Kate’ asking for rum in her coke & wandering off in Camden.

Found you lot again! I'm having serious problems catching up on my listening.

I caught some of the film on Sunday and was proper surprised - was that Justin being unpleasant to Lilian? Why? And why is he being portrayed as lying to her? Last I heard, they were love's young dream!

I don't think that J and A are going to the same place, although I suppose that there is a vague possibility of a horse-related excursion for that sort-wealthy racehorse guy. I don't think Anisha has been lying about the frailty of her parents all along.

I was just thinking that I would quite like Anna and Max to have patched things up, move into the village to settle down and have a better work-life balance, and to have kids with Adam and Ian which they co-parent. Two not-entirely-stable couples and lots of family involvement could give years and years of interesting stories. And just imagine Jennifer and Carole as rival grandmothers.

Ah but Noli is 16 and, hopefully, will grow out of her teenage shenanigans while her mum has NOT grown up properly since her teens.

Really enjoying TA at the moment, and these threads.

The shenanigans with Brine in the GG kitchen was great: "What from, paper boy?" ...but it's all in the delivery.

Why oh why did Brine not pick up on Kate saying 'I am allowed to treat myself'. She wasn't treating herself at all, it was his money! Another classic Kate line.

I've been listening with half an ear about the surrogacy as it seems to be Ian vaguely mentioning he's met some randoms, and the randoms have invited him to their child's birthday party, like you do, but I digress...until Kate's bombshell. Now I award myself a "Must try harder" -but how old was she on her birthday? Phoebe is 18, and I'm sure I heard the Galstonbury birth tepee business at uni so maybe only 36 ish?

That's a shame. I thought he did a good job of rescuing TA from the shambles that SOC left. Isn't that the way, though - people who are good tend to get headhunted.
Can we be radical? Let's not parachute in an editor from a TV soap. Let's have an editor from Countryfile, Escape to the Country or BBC Hereford&Worcester.

Ooh, lots of lovely new and interesting posts to read. Sometimes l can be disappointed if l read too often - or feel overwhelmed with too much to catch up on if l leave it too long! This is just right.

Ceto, l know why Roy did it. I just didn’t find it reassuring or believable. But l’ve never liked Roy much as a character or a voice. Apologies to all Roy lovers. I liked Lexie though and would like her back as Happy Roy is certainly preferable.

Aha. Thank you. I did think Kate and I were of approximate vintage though I think I'll pass on the truth sharing for my 40th.
Every so often I find sections where my brain tunes out but currently that is: Anything with Pip or Toby and especially both; Anything with Ian and surrogacy / adoption / child; Anything with Ed being hard done too; Anything with Alice; Anything with Roy sighing about the Bulgarian lass - I essentially am listening to white noise appended by the theme tune!
