Thanks, R4, for the title (again!).

I'm your temporary host while PseudoBadger is on her sabbatical / prison term / secret mission.

Old hands and complete newbies all welcome.

Spoilers (eg Radio Times descriptions of future programmes) not welcome.

When will Matt reappear? Before / during / after the wedding?

The floor is yours...

Do you think so? To me Henwee still sounds around 3- definitely pre-school.

I found the Ian, Adam and Henwee scenes toe-curlingly twee.

ppeatfruit · 15/10/2017 20:17

Poor Henwee, we've had this discussion before on here, recordings seem to make children's voices sound more immature and squeakier than they actually are. It happened to our children.

TheAntiBoop · 15/10/2017 20:19

That's true - my kids sound like baby's when I speak to them on the phone

But I think they need to reflect that and perhaps get an older child

Timetogetup0630 · 15/10/2017 20:57

BertrandRussell I am a lifetime horsey person and I thought it was ménage too !

Bekabeech · 16/10/2017 08:57

The Lillian thing was fine, it was to Adam and was to prevent Justin being embarrassed.
Lily sounds awful - just the kind of person I avoid. (But actually a nice character dramatically.)
I’m crossing my fingers that Toby inherits money or something (buy out of his Gin business) and him and Pip go off on a round the world trip.

ppeatfruit · 16/10/2017 09:01

I liked the scene with Adam sensitively reintroducing a KIND cricket , with a soft ball and bat, to Henry.

TheAntiBoop · 16/10/2017 09:55

I meant with Lillian that she is sneaking around meeting her ex but then gets peeved when she finds out Justin has done the same thing!

ppeatfruit · 16/10/2017 10:56

I know I just wanted to mention that sweet scene with the cricket.

It's a well known case of 'pot and kettle' isn't it? With Lilian . Justin 's an idiot too, not saying that Matt had found Ruby is one example ( I know someone mentioned it upthread)..

Ceto · 16/10/2017 14:36

Is there any logical reason why Pip should take relationship advice from someone 5 years younger with no known track record in relationships? I know she's thoroughly objectionable, but has she really gone right through local school and university plus things like the Young Farmers' club without accumulating any female friends of roughly her own age?

AuldHeathen · 16/10/2017 16:17

Yes, Lass, l really do think so. Smile

AuldHeathen · 16/10/2017 16:20

Ceto, that’s part of what l disliked in the Pip/Lily scene. Has Lily got lots of experience of relationships? I’m not sure she’s had a boyfriend, not for long anyway.

birdsdestiny · 16/10/2017 17:14

The Adam Ian conversation irritated me more than Lily I think. It was all too neat. All Adam's doubts and worries solved by flying a drone with Henry.

ppeatfruit · 16/10/2017 17:31

Also playing cricket with Henry , it is sometimes just small things that change people's minds. Not many men are properly experienced with youngish children who aren't their own.

AuldHeathen · 16/10/2017 17:35

I expected Henry to complain the cricket ball was too soft. Grin

ppeatfruit · 16/10/2017 17:43

Grin Auld He comes across as quite a sweet child. not a complainer, it was good that he wanted to do his own buttons up. he needs his independence. Tom 's an insensitive idiot.

AuntyElle · 17/10/2017 02:17

Hmm Henry came across as a passive cipher for Adam's character development more like it. I found that really annoying too - borrow a child for two afternoons and kaboom: perhaps I could be a daddy!
And Lily now annoys me more than Pip.

EBearhug · 17/10/2017 02:22

What with Pip saying she's not thinking of going anywhere - that's often a sure sign someone will be out within a year.

Jenijena · 17/10/2017 06:36

Long time lurker, but came here to whinge about how irritating it is at the moment. Breadcrumbs to The Wedding being a disaster. Shula and the damn dinner suit. Brookfield and the prodigal daughter/missing son/suddenly back from the financial brink. Adam just about bothering to exert the energy to remember to breathe. Anisha and the complete forgetting that she’s a partner in a veterinary practice. Lily and the agony aunt position.

Just me? I want to give them all a slap and tell them to grow up.

ppeatfruit · 17/10/2017 08:20

Oh dear, it's all complaining on here. Anti sounds positive in contrast!

It's not the law to listen to TA is it?

RolfNotRudolf · 17/10/2017 08:30

We've not given boop points recently. I could probably have given some a few weeks ago, but they do seem to be concentrating on the odious characters at the moment.

RolfNotRudolf · 17/10/2017 08:33

I think it says a lot about Pip's emotional maturity that her confidante is a 17yo at least 5 years her junior.

ppeatfruit · 17/10/2017 08:38

They're like the sisters they never had (they both said ) when Pip started staying at LL. They are relations anyway, has no one on here ever just chatted about personal stuff with a relation or older\younger close friend of the same sex without totting up their age? I know I have, am I weird? Grin

Mootsie · 17/10/2017 09:46

Ruth and David never mention Ben when they talk about the future of Brookfield so they'll no doubt be aghast/heartbroken/dumbfounded when he decides to work for Adam because cereal production's more his thing.

BertrandRussell · 17/10/2017 09:55

"It's not the law to listen to TA is it?"
Heavens above-isn't it???? Grin

ppeatfruit · 17/10/2017 10:39

Bert Grin I must say that Ben's absence is a bit strange, is he in the cereal cupboard ?

Though on the whole I 'm enjoying it atm. That reminds me I haven't heard last night's yet Shock
