Thanks Gump

Who is Knight in Shining Armour Philip, I wonder?

Bekabeech · 29/09/2017 18:30

Who is Philip?

TheMadGardener · 29/09/2017 20:05

Wasn't the builder called Philip? The Welsh one who did Lilian''s bathroom?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/09/2017 20:11

Thanks, Gump! I remember thinking Philip sounded nice and wondering if he might displace both Matt and Justin. Grin

Matt's back, I see. Hmm.

Who do we think gets devastating news, and what might it be?

Gruach · 29/09/2017 21:49

That all looks glorious. Grin

Thank you!

TheMadGardener · 30/09/2017 12:32

I hope the veterinary emergency isn't Ruby the puppy. (Slightly worried that Lilian mentioned her having an upset stomach). Maybe she goes for a routine spay and is found to have some major problem caused by Matt buying her from a dodgy backyard breeder (cue public information storyline about not buying pedigree dogs from dodgy breeders). I know she's a fictitious dog but I hate sad animal stories!

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/09/2017 19:38

I think Hilda Ogden is about to go to the great littertray in the sky

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 30/09/2017 21:44

I hope so, Bore. I'm not a cat person and can muster very little sympathy for an elderly, vicious fictional moggie which is singlehandedly wiping out the small bird and mammal population of Borsetshire. Grin

I'll leave this here but .... Sad

It has been announced today that Huw Kennair-Jones will step down as editor of The Archers. He leaves the world’s longest-running soap to join ITV as a drama commissioner.

"I’m delighted to be joining the ITV drama team at such an exciting time. ITV has always been at the forefront of TV drama and I’m thrilled to be getting the chance to work on Coronation Street and Emmerdale, two of the UK’s most iconic programmes. And though I’ll be away from Borsetshire, the fantastic cast and crew of The Archers in Birmingham will always have a special place in my heart and I’ll be listening as avidly as I ever have. I’ve loved being part of such a brilliant programme.”

Kennair-Jones joined The Archers in September 2016, having previously worked as a producer, commissioning editor and commissioning executive for independent production companies, Sky Drama, and the BBC.

Recruitment for Kennair-Jones’ replacement will begin shortly.

What! He's hardly been there any length of time. Hope they can find somebody next who wants to stay for a decade or two. We need stability.

Thanks, Gump.

Radio Times
8th October to 13th October

Anyone in denial that Christmas is just around the corner should take note: the Ambridge pantomime script has been unveiled. If further proof were needed, Nic comes up with a novel way of boosting the Grundys’ Turkey sales. Before you know it, it will be Stir-Up Sunday and then there really will be no going back.

Over at Home Farm, Noluthando continues to make her presence felt. Cue Kate attempting to control her with a visit to Lower Loxley where Noluthando quickly makes a friend of one Pargeter twin – and an enemy of the other. Finally, Adam is in the lion’s den with a dat babysitting Henry, while Helen fears the impact kefir is having on her yoghurt production. First world problems, eh?

I’m sorry about HKJ - I’ve enjoyed his storylines mostly.

OP posts:
Gruach · 04/10/2017 18:22

Aha! Just this morning I was wondering whose young feathers Nolli was meant to ruffle. I decided on Freddie - though they're perhaps too closely related to make a story. And naturally Lily won't be keen on another masterful female turning up. (Assuming it will be that way round ...)

Gumpendorf · 04/10/2017 18:23

Anyone else annoyed the new iOS keyboard doesn’t do single dashes so I can’t strike through any more?

OP posts:
Bekabeech · 04/10/2017 20:39

That just reminded me: What is Freddie doing now? Did he drop out of College?
Have the scriptwriters forgotten him?

BoreOfWhabylon · 07/10/2017 17:57

I hate the new keyboard, Gump. Far too busy and confusing.

Rex imparts sad news

Presumably Ansha's father/mother has died. What with that and the horse-killing this will herald Anisha's exit from Ambridge (Huge Canoe continuing to roll back SOC's changes)

Gruach · 09/10/2017 18:45

Thanks Gump!

Would that mean exit Rex stage left d'you think Bore?

BoreOfWhabylon · 09/10/2017 19:56

I hope so, although he is the less loathsome of the Barefrothers. No idea what SOC's long-term plan was for them but it isn't working.

And whatever happened to DocLocke? Wasn't he brought back for Lizzie to eventually hook up with?

Gumpendorf · 09/10/2017 20:19

Radio Times

Is Lilian about to fall off the Cloud nine she is currently sitting on with Justin? It certainly seems that way when she is once again drawn into Matt’s world, in an evening of near misses, a horrifying realisation and a shock proposal...

Worrying rumours continue to spread about negligence at vets’ practice, with Shula fearing the worst when Latif gets wind of them. Alistair is trying to be optimistic, but with the Hunt Ball to organise and Anisha’s replacement causing problems, it’s clear the situation is taking its toll.

Plus Adam is enjoying bonding with Henry, but is put to the test when the lad pulls the “birds and bees” card. How will Adam get himself out of this one?

OP posts:
Ceto · 10/10/2017 12:15

Roy is shocked by a familiar face.

Is Lexie back in the cast list?

Gumpendorf · 10/10/2017 12:54

Nope 😊. It’s a fairly standard cast list with addition of Noluthando. Though they tend to keep surprise appearances out of cast---- lists as a rule.
