I am worried about Phoebe's fear though.

Phoebe's fear will be confessing to Roy that the preg. test was for her, surely?

Oh good, it looks like Carrie gets due credit for her kefir efforts.

Thanks, Gump! It couldn't be possible that Kate would offer to be the surrogate mother, surely? More likely that she features trying to give some advice to Phoebe, I hope, although frankly I'd be delighted if we never heard her speak again.

10th to 15th September.

A mixture of light and shade this week. On the fun and frivolous side of things, we have Joe and Bert teaming up to thwart Cecil Jackson after they sneak into his garden and clock the size of his award-winning vegetables.

So far, so madcap. But then there's also the promise of grisly shocks in store when one resident's murderous secret is unearthed...

Amid all this, we also have Adam and Ian looking further into adoption, only for a spanner to be thrown into the works from an expected source. Roy sees a face from the past and learns more than he wanted to know about Phoebe. Plus Toby's new high maintenance girlfriend cause a stir when she demands to meet Pip.

Listeners of a nervous disposition, be warned: it's the week of the Flower and Produce Show and the tension is almost unbearable. Jennifer is confident of victory, but her frangipane is no match for another prize winning entry. And will Joe and Bert's efforts to self sabotage for the sake of terminally ill Cecil work?

Phew- well, if you manage to pick yourself up from the floor, there's also this to contend with: Harrison finds himself the butt of jokes by the Darrington cricket team as Ambridge morale hits rock bottom, Roy doesn't want Lexi to move back to Bulgaria, while Ruth worries that Pip is pushing herself too far. Finally, David is asked to break the law, but what response will he give?

So, is Jenny bringing Noli and Sipho to Ambridge for Kate's 40th? (Given that they've made so much of the fact that Phoebe will be elsewhere.)

Probably.

Also think it likely that Helen (and possibly Kate also) offer to be surrogate. Ian all for it but Adam can see it wouldn't be a good idea trying to share parenting with either K or H.

I think this one makes more sense - probably.

Justin is ignoring the old adage – never mix business with pleasure – at his peril. Hence his offer to include Amside under the Damara umbrella, a move that doesn’t go down well with Lilian, who is already smarting at his suggestion that she recruits a wedding planner.

Elsewhere, Ian is thrilled when Helen comes forward to offer her services as a surrogate mother, but more than one resident has serious concerns. In the end, Helen is left wondering whether she’s being too hasty.

And the cricket team prepare for their final match against a smug Darrington. With Josh unable to take part, Jolene steps up to the crease. Will this be the final nail in the coffin for Harrison‘s captaincy?

Well, colour me surprised that the Madonna of the Cheeses puts herself forward without thinking things through.

Thanks, Gump! Caught up with the last fortnight yesterday in one hit and without the benefit of seeing the spoilers first - I am also utterly unsurprised about the surrogacy thing. Madonna of the Cheeses - VG, Bore!

Is Justin playing away, do we think?

That does seem to be what they want us to surmise, Gasp0 - but it would be so boring and predictable. I hope it's a more complicated issue of business skullduggery.

I'm hoping the real duplicitous Justin is revealed before/at the wedding. I like the sound of "Lilian has ammunition" hopefully its not a damp squib of her holding some cartridges at the shoot.

Lilian’s relationship with Justin is facing fresh pressure, as Justin departs for his trip to Scotland – only for Lilian to discover (from a gleeful Mandy Beesborough) that he’s up in Edinburgh with ex-wife Miranda.

Someone else having a miserable time is Kate, who struggles to impress last week’s surprise guest. She’s also facing a knockback from Adam and Ian, who are both secretly horrified by her offer to help them.

Finally, a routine op at the vets results in a life or death battle for Alistair and Anisha. Plus one village resident receives devastating news...
