Lilian confesses all to Adam about Matt’s unexpected offer. Vowing to protect her from Matt’s posturing, Adam confronts the man himself. But who will come off worse?

There are tensions, too, at the stables, as Schula and Alistair try to deal with the rumours of incompetence, but Anisha’s replacement immediately causes problems. And as Shula’s suspicions grow as to who spread the lies in the first place, she’s embroiled in a game of cat and mouse with an old enemy……

Finally, Roy is forced to step up at the interviews for a new restaurant manager at Grey Gables, but is stunned when a face from the past presents themselves as a candidate.

I’m hoping the Fairbrethern’s Father shuffles off. And hopefully leaves enough that Toby and Pip can take a once in a lifetime trip for a year ...

So who's Shula's old enemy likely to be?

Will there be a burglary at Lower Loxley? I thought Lily giving Pip a key for Toby was a bit over explained last night.

Goodness, two lots of shocking news within a few days! I suspect Matt's going to do a John Stonehouse* but Lillian or Harrison are going to work it out.

*For those children who don't remember Stonehouse, he was a minor politician who was probably most famous for an unsuccessful attempt at faking his own death.

Ah, yes, John Stonehouse the Reggie Perrin of the House of Commons.

It seems as though The Archers is upping the scare factor for Halloween week, what with the Hunt Ball ending in heartbreak and horror. And there we were thinking that the only thrill was going to be the bucking bronco.

In relationship news, Roy is trying to persuade Lexi to stay with him at Willow Farm, but is left disappointed when she insists she wants to take things slowly.

With David and Ruth on holiday, Pip is determined to prove herself in the running of Brookfield, but ends up disagreeing with Ed over the management of the dairy herd. And Jennifer is left fretting about Peggy when she starts giving her belongings away. Is her mum on the slow road to giving up?

For those interested in cast lists, the R4 website for w/c 5 Nov contains James Bellamy and a couple of randoms (?) Carina and Philomena.

James is visiting Linda isn't he with little Mungo.
Carina and Philomena - at the Hunt ball - could be guests or upmarket caterers with names like that.

I’m a bit late listening atm so when I heard Ian mention a Carina at one of his surrogacy meetings I was more alert than usual. 😉. It was a passing reference but she may be their soon to be surrogate?

Carina is the possible surrogate.

What is Matt's game? The goading of Adam was clearly intended to provoke Adam so Matt would get a hold over him?

Maybe to make him back off from supporting Lill?

I’ve caught up and for the record, Philomena is the friend Lilian persuaded to sell Matt the racehorse he wanted.

Well ... They're not torturing us with any doom-laden trailers - so surely everyone will get out alive?

The other thread mentions that some of the cast are popping up on the radio this week. Might that be to discuss a SATTC moment?

Nothing bad must happen to Ed.

Ed has a row with Pip soon - so should be safe from Death and mayhem (and won’t be at the Hunt Ball).
