GCSE results coming
For who? Isn't Lily doing A levels?

Ceto · 01/08/2017 13:37

Sorry, I meant A levels - though Freddie was also doing maths GCSE, wasn't he? It surely isn't going to come as any sort of a shock when he fails spectacularly.

MrsArthurShappey · 01/08/2017 13:46

Oh yes of course! I'd like Freddie to do OK. Poor old Freddie.

WineAndTiramisu · 01/08/2017 14:59

I think Freddie passing anything would be a miracle!

Radio Times
6 August to 11 August

There are mixed fortunes at the village fête: Jill manages to get one over on the Duxford sisters, but a desperate Brian faces humiliation when he takes on the loud-speaking announcements. And at the end, violence breaks out...

Phoebe falls for fellow picker and ladies' man Constantin and, with Lily's help, sneaks away with him for a night of passion. But her actions may have dire consequences.

Bert and Joe are at their bickering best over the upcoming flower and produce show , but unite to support Oliver through his grief over Caroline. And as Alistair's fears over Matt escalate, he finds himself distracted during a routine visit to the Brookfield herd, which threatens to end in disaster…

No clues for guessing why Phoebe has an anxious wait?

If they have Phoebe dropping out of Oxford, I will personally chain myself to the railings at the Mailbox. Angry Surely they won't go down that route?

Thanks, Gump!

TheAntiBoop · 02/08/2017 12:51

If she has an unplanned pregnancy and drops out I will be furious!! If she has an unplanned pregnancy and still gets a first class degree I will be happy!

Rather she just had a normal uni experience though

Ceto · 02/08/2017 14:02

Freddie can't do OK when he's missed half the exams.

Ceto · 02/08/2017 14:04

Surely not another accidental pregnancy so soon after Kirsty's? Could it be an STI?

TheAntiBoop · 02/08/2017 14:51

Or an arrest? Or a life changing accident?

I could see soc thinking he would be very clever to have Phoebe follow in the steps of her mother but making a better job of it so there is a compare and contrast. Hopefully huge canoe isn't keen on that kind of sl

Gruach · 02/08/2017 18:16

Joining you at the railings! (Surely they won't do that?Angry)

Thanks Gump

mummytime · 02/08/2017 20:28

If Phoebe is at my old college they have: flats (supposedly for married student but I'm sure they would offer it to a pregnant one) and a nursery. So no reason for Phoebe to drop out.

Gumpendorf · 07/08/2017 16:10

Radio Times
13th to 18th August.

Phoebe's clearly not quite as good at breezing through life as her mum Kate. Thanks to a vomiting bug, the second morning after pill might not have worked, so it's pregnancy-test time.

Things are also in a hot mess at the parish council meeting, where Justin Elliott's development proposal is causing ructions – will it deliver much needed homes for Generation Rent or, as Jennifer worries, just attract riff-raff into Ambridge?

And Alistair is still worrying about how to tell Anisha about his history with Matt. Being a vet, rolled up shirtsleeves and lots of soapy water might be the way to go ...

David Brown must be on his hols as the credit this week goes to Steve Morrissey.

Phoebe Angry

Angry
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 09/08/2017 10:43

Oh, and thanks, Gump.

TheAntiBoop · 09/08/2017 10:53

How horribly predictable. I'm feeling quite disappointed by how it's all going at the moment and not sure I can be bothered anymore

Gruach · 09/08/2017 14:43

Oh ffs! Angry

If they DARE drag her out of Oxford I will actually picket BBC Brum.

(I'm a little ambivalent about just how spoilery the Radio Times is though ... Does the BBC think we'll stop listening otherwise?)

mummytime · 09/08/2017 16:14

I can cope with Phoebe being pregnant - but she shouldn't drop out of Oxford!!!! There is no reason to. Even when I was there a while ago there was a girl sitting finals when 9 months pregnant (people were hoping she'd make it through the exams before going into labour - she did).

TheAntiBoop · 09/08/2017 16:16

But they've given her a bit of a personality transplant. Before I would have said she's so practical and sensible she would either have an abortion or work out how she can go ahead with the pregnancy and get her degree. Now I'm not so sure.

mummytime · 09/08/2017 16:31

I've taken to tweeting Huw Kennair-Jones about it :)

Gruach · 09/08/2017 18:33

How you doin' that m'time? He doesn't seem terribly active on Twitter. Am I looking in the wrong place?

mummytime · 10/08/2017 10:53

I'm not sure he is that active, but it's worth a try. I just pointed him to some Uni of Oxford documents and press releases.

Gumpendorf · 15/08/2017 15:30

Radio Times
20th - 25th August

Poor Oliver. Not only a widower, but also broke (well, these things are relative), he's now considering putting Grey Gables on the market. Roy knows nothing about it, and neither does Lynda. What will they say if a horrified Shula lets slip that Oliver is toying with an offer from from a hotel chain?
Meanwhile, much of Young Ambridge is at Chris and Alice's party, and if the country beats the town at anything hands-down, it's a wild thrash. Which, one over-enthusiastic reveller realises the next day, isn't necessarily a good thing. And in a development flagged so heavily their scenes must've been written in semaphore, it's finally judgement day for Lilian and the wheedling Matt.

Author Steve Morrissey again.

Weirdly, neither R4 website or Digiguide have the one liners for the next 2 weeks. I thought whoever writes them might be on holiday (though I don't remember it happening last year) and then 2 random days appeared.

18 Aug. Emma's resolve is broken, and Alistair tries to explain.

20 Aug. Oliver needs to ask a favour, and Susan gets creative in the kitchen.
21 Aug. Shula spots and opportunity, and Anisha has made up her mind.
22 Aug. Lynda makes herself indispensable, and Clarrie receives a gift.
23 Aug. Matt's request is denied, and Brian ignores the rules.
24 Aug. Tracy wants to party, and Chris makes amends.
25 Aug. Alice draws a blank, and Adam sees more than he should.

27 Aug. Ian doesn't like what he hears, and Roy's confidence takes a knock.
