Hmm
witchmountain · 24/09/2018 18:56

Well about 40% of marriages in the UK end in divorce so that's probably under-represented in the Archers. I'm pretty sure everyone dies eventually, but DDD can confirm Grin - not sure how the death profile on the Archers stacks up, you'd have to judge it by age I suppose. I'm trying to think of all the pregnancies in the last few years - Helen x 2, 1 planned, 1 rape; the 3 unplanned mentioned before plus the pregnancy scare for Phoebe; I think Bethany was a surprise too; Poppy and Ciara - both planned? So about 50% unplanned - that doesn't reflect my circle of friends anyway! Apologies for the lack of paragraphs, for some reason it won't let me!

TheMadGardener · 24/09/2018 21:15

Also hope that Pip and Rosie aren't staying there

Meh. Some of us would be happy to be the one with the box of matches if Perfect Pip was the one inside the Wicker Man on top of Lakey Hill... Rosie will be all right with daddy and Uncle Rex.

ppeatfruit · 25/09/2018 08:22

Well if you think about it witch an unplanned pregnancy is a lot easier to manage than a divorce Grin My laptop also will not let me use the para bar???? Huh something strange is happening!!!!!! I'm in a weird mood this morning too . Sorry Dad Grin

witchmountain · 25/09/2018 08:28

Well if you think about it witch an unplanned pregnancy is a lot easier to manage than a divorce

Exactly, lazy!

I’m now on my phone and I have discovered via another poster that you can command it create a new paragraph with your voice. My demands for a cup of tea are going unheeded though. Brew

ppeatfruit · 25/09/2018 08:37

Not on mine you can't I'm a technophobe!

ppeatfruit · 25/09/2018 12:32

I know we're not supposed to discuss other threads , but on bona fide TA (no spoiler) thread we have reached a great, would be, spoiler. Alastair and Lizzie!!!!!! A good one you will all agree [grin[

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 25/09/2018 13:02

It's a great idea, but it's not a spoiler, ppeat, as it's pure speculation at present. Wait until the RT says 25 December Christmas wedding bells ring at Lower Loxley! Grin

QuaterMiss · 25/09/2018 13:04

Still, I think someone should warn Alan now. Think of the burden on his poor ears if that happens to Shula! Best for him and Usha to start planning a round the world trip immediately ...

witchmountain · 25/09/2018 13:19

What about our poor ears??

TheMadGardener · 25/09/2018 15:32

Funny I had the same thought about Alistair/Elizabeth while listening yesterday. He'd be much better off than with St Smugula but think it might all get too complicated...

ppeatfruit · 25/09/2018 16:53

Well it COULD be a spoiler as I said Tiger . TBH the spoilers that they print in the RT are a bit tame, and sometimes misleading. Our speculations are more exciting!!!!!

ppeatfruit · 26/09/2018 09:38

If Freddie dobs in Ellis would he be arrested straight away?, to stop any carrying out of threats.

Gumpendorf · 27/09/2018 12:33

Radio Times
30 Sept to 5 Oct

Freddie’s sentencing is the talk of the village, with the hot topic being whether the judge made the correct decision. Elizabeth, for her part, is making plans for the future, but finds herself locking horns with a close relative. As for Freddie - well, his behaviour continues to be a cause for concern, but will he eventually come clean about what’s really being going on?

On to cheerier matters now, the Flower and Produce Show, where we’ll discover whether Brian’s plotting will bear fruit. There’s also the danger of young Poppy being disappointed if Nic’s harvest pie doesn’t make the grade.
Finally, the Aldridges are horrified to find what one prospective buyer has in store for their beloved home.

Cast:
Jill, David, Ruth, Josh
Tony, Tom,
Brian, Jennifer,
Peggy, Christine
Lilian, Justin
Clarrie, Fallon,
Kenton, Alistair,
Elizabeth, Freddie
Robert, Lynda
Johnny, Jazzer, Hannah

They are very tame, ppeatfruit. David Brown writes to a formula, and after doing so many I could do it in my sleep. Smile

Minor update from R4 website. Digiguide didn't publish any R4 listings for the w/e 12 Oct. If that continues we will be relying on website.

27 Sept. Elizabeth makes a surprising decision, and there is an unexpected gesture from Susan.
28 Sept. It is judgement day for Freddie, and Brian has been rumbled.

30 Sept. Elizabeth makes plans, and Brian keeps his fingers crossed.
1 Oct. There's a near miss for Johnny, and Jazzer oversteps the mark.
2 Oct. Freddie's behaviour causes concern, and Josh spreads some news.
3 Oct. There's a shock for Fallon, and Christine offers some advice.
4 Oct. Kenton tries to make amends, and Hannah is left confused.
5 Oct. Elizabeth struggles to accept the truth, and the Aldridges are left horrified.

7 Oct. Lilian has concerns and Jim's arm is twisted
8 Oct. Oliver attempts to be supportive and Tom has an awkward encounter.
9 Oct. Justin puts his foot down and Peggy makes a promise
10 Oct. Freddie loses his temper and Helen kicks off her new hobby
11 Oct. Elizabeth is on the warpath and Alistair comes to a decision
12 Oct Christine fears for the future and Adam has some making up to do.

Thanks Gump. I suppose if they said anything concrete then they'd be accused of 'spoiling' the programme! It's quite an art to say next to nothing!

IalwayswantedtobeBeth · 27/09/2018 20:47

Could the BBC have put out one version of the sentencing episode while another sits waiting to be played on the radio?

I do love the way that, just a Susan appears to have fallen into a one dimensional character she shows another side.

Gersemi · 27/09/2018 23:52

I hope the amends Kenton is trying to make are towards Fallon. I quite look forward to the rapid rethink that is going to happen when he realises that Freddie isn't quite the wronged one-off trivial offender that he has been depicting.

I wonder if the prospective buyer proposing to gut Home Farm will make JD rethink her refusal of help from Peggy?

Gersemi · 28/09/2018 09:51

I don't think the alleged accidentally posted spoiler can be a matter of the BBC recording different sentencing hearings, given that it apparently relates to 2nd October, not today.

witchmountain · 28/09/2018 10:28

Also it sounded like it was a post-sentencing episode.

Gumpendorf · 28/09/2018 13:11

The spoiler fits with 2 Oct that Freddie's behaviour causes concern which I'm reading as Lizzie's concern over Freddie's attack.

But then I'm usually wrong Grin

OP posts:
witchmountain · 28/09/2018 18:42

I agree. And I think it's likely he'll come to blows quite quickly, I think that's how the pecking order would work.

Thanks for the updates!

Gumpendorf · 29/09/2018 13:09
