Remember, please do not post anything you read on this thread on The Archers discussion thread. That is wrong, bad, naughty!

Previous thread.

Yes, it’s so frustrating not knowing if all the Freddie references mean inside or outside an institution!

ppeatfruit · 22/09/2018 15:25

My guess would be he gets put in an open prison for a year. Lizzie can't accept it, busts into tears at visiting and Freddie goes ape.

Anyone else?

witchmountain · 22/09/2018 20:22

The Freddie and Elizabeth comments could be reactions to Lily or Russ rather than Freddie. But if Freddie’s losing his temper with anyone else my guess is another inmate who’s taking the piss because he’s posh.

I hope Freddie considering his options is him deciding to shop Ellis.

I suppose his behaviour causing concern would be consistent with him being sent to prison and being very distressed.

We didn’t really see what prison was like with Helen as she was in the mother and baby unit. One of my childhood neighbours went to a YOI about the same age as Freddie. He got his jaw broken by another inmate within the first day or so...

I have what may be a major spoiler, if it's true. It is gleaned from a spoilers page for TA on FB and quoted in other groups, too, I gather. Many people in the group complained that it was too much of a spoiler as it actually gives away the plot, so maybe look away now if you don't like episode synopses in advance! (There was also speculation that it was deliberately fake news from the Beeb, for some inexplicable reason!)

Apparently, the BBC inadvertently put up the 2nd October episode as a podcast instead of last Friday's episode, and some people downloaded it and listened to it before the Beeb realised their mistake. Below is a description of the major spoilers from someone who downloaded and listened to it.

"Freddy gets 6 months. David drives Elizabeth to visit. They leave at 7.00am and it takes 4 hours to get there. She finds Freddie has a bruised eye. She wants to report it but Freddie begs her not to. Back at the ranch, social media is running wild. Everyone is talking about how Freddie has been dealing for much longer than everyone thought. Also - his sidekick Ellis has been arrested and will shortly be joining Freddie."

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 23/09/2018 10:28

Cripes! That's a spoiler and a half.

BolleauxtoBankers · 23/09/2018 10:45

I know, Tiger, I hesitated before posting here but hope there was sufficient warning for those who don't like really major spoilers, in case it's true. The main thing was not to post it in the other Archers' thread, though!

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 23/09/2018 10:59

Fine by me! I thought I'd post a one liner as an extra bit of punctuation, as it were.

QuaterMiss · 23/09/2018 11:04

I could weep for Freddie, if it’s true.

(I do appreciate he’s in a very different position to the majority of teenage dealers.)

And Elizabeth really doesn’t deserve this ill fortune.

witchmountain · 23/09/2018 11:34

I hope the Glitterball doesn't explode! (On wrong device for official ball icon!)

It certainly sounds within the realms of possibility. Poor old Freddie. I'd be less sympathetic if I could see any evidence that YOI and prisons were a suitable place to rehabilitate anyone.

BoreOfWhabylon · 23/09/2018 11:58

The 🔮 thinks that is a very fine spoiler indeed. It refuses to,be drawn on the veracity or otherwise, but does opine that the outcome of all this will prove to be the making of Freddy.

witchmountain · 23/09/2018 12:28

Well that’s good news.

Anyone else now terrified about posting on the wrong thread?!

I do wonder if the leak will make the news, but perhaps it’s not a ‘big’ enough storyline for that.

QuaterMiss · 23/09/2018 12:31

Wouldn’t be at all surprised if the BBC leak it ...

ppeatfruit · 23/09/2018 12:44

I had an idea for a major spoiler too Bolleaux Freddie is not implicating Ellis to the police because he is frightened of the threat that Ellis had made, which involved Lower Loxley.

If Freddie does 'shop' him and he gets arrested,, there could be an attempt to damage it somehow by one of Ellis's 'friends'. ( we know that Lizzie is on her own at night there ).

witchmountain · 23/09/2018 13:18

Which brings us to the fire... 🔥 🔮

ppeatfruit · 23/09/2018 13:25

Yes witch I just hope it won't be too traumatic. (that their fire alarms work ) Also hope that Pip and Rosie aren't staying there Shock

QuaterMiss · 23/09/2018 13:44

Also hope that Pip and Rosie aren't staying there

Do you, ppeat? Do you, really?

Grin
witchmountain · 23/09/2018 14:07

Shock how many other characters would you be prepared to sacrifice to get rid of Pip, Quater? Grin

Somehow the dreadful delivery that everyone else talks about seems to pass me by.

QuaterMiss · 23/09/2018 14:19

I was merely drawing upon historical connections witch ...

ppeatfruit · 23/09/2018 21:18

I agree witch I LIKE Pip actually Quater (I say summoning up my courage!!) She's improved lately and she has a little baba , don't be a meany. Grin

witchmountain · 23/09/2018 21:36

There’s certainly a few on the main thread who’d burn several babies to be rid of her!

Not sure what I think of the Pip character. A bit like Tom she doesn’t seem settled to me in either her work or personal life, but I suppose she’s still quite young. I’ve got no patience for the accidental pregnancy story lines, it’s such lazy writing, and she’s tainted by that.

ppeatfruit · 24/09/2018 08:24

These things DO happen witch Grin

witchmountain · 24/09/2018 10:17

Indeed, but to almost everyone of childbearing age in quite a short period (Kirsty/Tom, Pip/Toby, Phoebe - albeit not pregnant, a bit further back Ruth/David)? That’s the lazy bit - surely there are other storylines!

BolleauxtoBankers · 24/09/2018 12:32

I wonder if that's a statistically proven thing, that there are, for example, more unexpected pregnancies than there are divorces or deaths for the same head of population?

ppeatfruit · 24/09/2018 12:37

Don't ask Dadx3 Bolleaux !

BolleauxtoBankers · 24/09/2018 12:57

Grin @ppeatfruit
