I’m always witch 🧙‍♀️ , on this thread anyway, but I lurked for a long time, posted infrequently a while ago, then disappeared, and now seem to be posting much more frequently than before.

I was wondering if Gruach had name changed or gone on holiday. If she had name changes I’m waiting for her to use the word ‘sublime’ again in relation to the Archers, that’s how I shall spot her

The thing is, when you lurk for ages you feel like you know everybody and when you post you forget that no one knows who you are.

Yes ppeat, me too. Perhaps people could have names just for TA threads, that they would never need to change? I do like meeting up with all my invisible friends on here

That’s sort of what I’ve adopted Bore. This is my main name but if I’m posting something potentially revealing then I tend to name change these days. It’s surprising what a detailed picture you can build up of some long term posters with no particular effort and without needing to advance search anything. And of course if someone was to use a bot to automatically search everything on here then it could be even more revealing.

Name changing is a pain though.

Indeed. But it’s hard to be both discreet and recognisable at the same time. On the rare occasions that I namechange I feel myself hoping that some subliminal message in my TA pondering will carry my old names forward.

But then I completely fail to recognise other posters under new aliases.

No need to worry, QuaterMiss, this old hand would recognise you anywhere. Sorry, that sounds sinister, but I meant your writing style is distinctive, and of course once one has been here a while one comes to know people's views on particular characters and storylines.

The day of Freddie’s sentencing is drawing near, so Elizabeth urges him to do the right thing and admit everything to the police. But Freddie fears the repercussions, both from the law and from Ellis. Will he be brave enough to tell the whole truth before the judge delivers their decision?

Fallon’s mood remains low, but Harrison is determined to play peacemaker following recent tensions. However, things don’t go to plan and when Fallon puts her foot in it, hackles rise and tempers fray. Will Harrison’s good intentions only end up making everything worse? Plus Alistair and Shula’s fragile accord is tested when Shula hears from Alistair’s solicitor…

Thanks Gump. I’m finding Brian’s plotting rather silly, but thinking about some of the people I’ve worked with I can see they would need to get involved in something if they weren’t at the centre of a business any more, they’d miss the politics and intrigue.

I know what you mean ppeat. I hoped he was either just being nice or that he had spotted that Hannah obviously fancies Tom and was trying to encourage something happening.

Mightn't Freddie coming clean just result in the sentencing being adjourned, while the prosecution consider adding more charges against him?

None of the above! Though I am a little behind with my listening this week. I went to the Women in Dairy conference on Wednesday and was a little disappointed not to see Ruth, Pip or even Helen there

R4 website has partially updated. Digiguide has no R4 listings for the week which is ... unusual.
