I think it has something to do with the Flower and Produce Show, as unlikely as that sounds!

ppeatfruit · 11/09/2018 15:33

I don't know why Jenny was so snobby with Tracy, they are sort of related, Alice is married to Tracy's nephew after all, she should have asked her in and made her comfortable as she tears her interior design into shreds.Grin

Radio Times
16 Sept to 21 Sept

Freddie’s arrest continues to be a major talking point in the village, so the lad himself decides to hide out at the Stables - can Johnny talk some sense into his old friend? Poor Elizabeth, meanwhile, fears that her family is imploding and breaks down on Shula’s shoulder.

The Ambridge cricket team faces Darrington in its final match and an old enemy attempts to push Harrison’s buttons. There’s no sign of Fallon and Kenton building bridges, so Jolene intervenes at the end of season cricket
party. Will her efforts prove successful?

And Jill has her eye on the prize at the Flower and Produce Show - but unaware of Brian’s scheming. What will Jennifer’s reaction be when she gets wind of it?

Thank you, Gump! Lee is the karate teacher, I think.

Can't tell from those whether Freddie goes to prison or not. I do hope he decides to dob Ellis in. He's a nasty piece of work whereas Freddie is a heedless fool.

ppeatfruit · 14/09/2018 13:50

Yes thanks Grump Can't tell if Freddie goes inside or not , I guess a deliberate omission by the powers that be. Grin Any bets?

ppeatfruit · 14/09/2018 13:51

Sorry Tiger we said the same Grin

wurzelburga · 14/09/2018 17:00

“Ellis is a nasty piece of work whereas Freddie is a heedless fool”

I think that too. But I think that reflects all kinds of unconscious bias. Freddie is a child of privilege. Supportive, loving family. No financial worries. No domestic violence. Great educational opportunities. No worries about the future. But he dealt class A drugs over a long period of time. He even carried on after his drugs nearly killed his cousin.

We don’t know much about Ellis. He has been unpleasant to Freddie and Lily and was apparently responsible for the brick episode. But who knows what pressures he is in from higher up the food chain. Who knows what pressures he is under at home etc.

I think a judge might actually come down quite hard on a Freddie Pargetter - especially if they learn he was out on the town with the lads the day before the sentencing hearing.

ppeatfruit · 14/09/2018 17:40

But Freddie's not on bail is he? He's not tagged or anything, just not allowed to go back to the scene of the crime. I'm almost a complete ignoramus about crime and criminals maybe that's why I'd never heard of a magistrate ordering such a thing.

wurzelburga · 14/09/2018 17:56

As I understand it, Freddie has pleaded guilty to an offence - dealing class A drugs - which carries a potential prison sentence of 2+ years. Magistrates courts cannot impose long sentences so they have referred the case to Crown Court for sentencing.

There is therefore no dispute over his guilt. Just the type and length of the sentence?

ppeatfruit · 14/09/2018 18:02

I thought he was dealing ecstasy, uppers and downers type drugs, isn't heroin class A?

witchmountain · 14/09/2018 18:14

You need to Talk to Frank ppeat. Ecstasy is class A

m.talktofrank.com/faq/what-drug-classification-system

wurzelburga · 14/09/2018 18:22

www.gov.uk/penalties-drug-possession-dealing

Up to life in prison . Although Freddie won’t get that !

witchmountain · 14/09/2018 21:12

Also, thanks Gump!

MrsArthurShappey · 14/09/2018 22:01

The actor playing Karate instructor Lee is on Twitter. Apparently he‘ll ‘be around for a while’

Gersemi · 15/09/2018 00:52

Freddie is definitely on bail.

ppeatfruit · 15/09/2018 11:03

Is he Gersemi ? I don't remember it being mentioned. Who stood it?

Gersemi · 15/09/2018 19:10

Ah, crossed wires about bail. In the UK, as I understand it, if you have been charged with a crime and are awaiting trial, you are either remanded in custody or on bail. Bail isn't automatically tied to any sort of potential financial liability, in fact mostly people get bail on their own recognisance and may have conditions attached like not talking to witnesses, reporting to the police station etc. So there wouldn't have been any need for anyone to stand bail for Freddie.

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/09/2018 11:10

So, the Lee actor is going to be around for a while. A love interest for Helen? Or a temptation for Emma??

And who are you all? I can't keep up with all the namechanges. I demand you all go back to your original names!!

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 17/09/2018 11:18

I want doesn't get, as my mother used to say! Grin witchmountain can probably work out who I am, she did it before after I namechanged at the end of July. I think I've tried out three or four over the summer but none quite fit, and there's another Tiger on the main thread, so I don't think this one will do. Hmm.

ppeatfruit · 17/09/2018 13:12

Bore naughty naughty , Lee mentioned his daughters so he's either married, separated,or a widower, I still remember the outrage on here when Woy was ,ahem, friendly with Lizzie. I wouldn't wish to see that again if he and Emma got together. Grin.

ppeatfruit · 17/09/2018 13:14

Bore Are you and I the only none - name changers on here? Or maybe there are plenty of newbies?

MrsArthurShappey · 17/09/2018 13:19

I've had this name for a while
