I was Gruach. It sounded very realistic to me. Friendship (not that they were great friends were they?) blotted out by that insanity called love. Mind you I think all the characters are pretty well drawn.

Radio Times
27 May to 1 June

The Aldridges may want to show the world that they’re not beaten, but the storyliners aren’t done with them yet. Just as Brian and Jennifer appear to have united in time for their anniversary, an unexpected visitor looks set to bring yet more devastation.

Alistair and Sheila are the centre of attention at the single wicket as their relationship fuels village gossip. As you might have guessed, it’s Susan who ends up overstepping the mark.

We also have Will making a rash decision where Jake and Mia‘s future is concerned, while Ed is on top of the world believing that his ram has the makings of a champion. Enter Poppy with her chosen (and completely unsuitable) name for the animal.

David, Kenton
Helen, Tom
Shula, Alistair
Susan, Alice
Brian, Jennifer, Adam,
Will, Emma, Ed, Clarrie
Harrison, Fallon
Christine, Kirsty

Have we met Sandeep before? Looks like he is the unexpected visitor.

Gumpendorf · 25/05/2018 21:30

In case anyone is looking for the mini spoilers update. There is no info after 7 June on either the Radio 4 website or Digiguide. 😊

More financial calamities for the Aldridges? Otherwise why are they selling off yet more land?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/05/2018 18:59

Looks like the yurt field is earmarked for sale. Thanks, Gump!

Thanks Gump. Looks like the yurtfield is to be sold off then.

Someone on the main thread says that, according to The Times, Rob is coming back?

Gruach · 02/06/2018 11:13

Oh good lord ...

Rob Titchener heading back to Ambridge

DadDadDad · 02/06/2018 11:44

I think at the back of mind I've been steeling myself for this scene.

Helen: I wonder who's knocking at this time of night... You?!
Rob: Hello, Helen, have you missed me?

Shock
Gruach · 02/06/2018 11:51

Hmm ... I guess, as all the Ambridge adults know how dangerous he is, his only targets could be his child(ren).

Poor Henry ... (Assuming Jack is too young to care much.)

Bibesia · 02/06/2018 22:50

With any luck Knob will target Pip next time round. He likes single mothers.

Gumpendorf · 06/06/2018 17:30

Radio Times
10 - 15 June

It's all kicking off in spectacular style at Home Farm, with Brian struggling to keep a lid on his temper and one member of the family going AWOL. Adam, meanwhile is struggling with the number of fruit pickers he has to handle, while Kate has the rug pulled from under her.

We also have Open Farm Sunday proving popular among the locals, though Pip is frustrated when Josh uses the event as an opportunity to ingratiate himself with a journalist from the Echo. Tensions rise as the day of Shula and Alistair's first mediation session dawns, and it's up to other residents of Ambridge to pick up the pieces. Will Jill be able to shake off her own concerns and finally support her daughter?

Cast:
Ruth, Pip, David, Josh, Pip
Helen, Peggy, Johnny
Shula, Alistair
Brian, Jennifer, Adam, Kate. Lilian
Freddie, Elizabeth
Emma, Ed
Kirsty, Philip, Fallon, Lynda, Ellis.

OP posts:
Gumpendorf · 06/06/2018 17:36

I'm not sure I expect to see Rob back in Ambridge soon. Alison Hindell seemed to dismiss the idea firmly. I suspect it's Rob Stimpson missing the limelight and trying to catch some last rays.

OP posts:
Gruach · 08/06/2018 07:30

Anisha ... Now what could that be?

‘Kate plots her future’ - pun intended?

I trust Lily’s devastation will be a repeat of whats’ismame’s motorway services abandonment of her Ma.

Exciting ... Thanks Gump

Bibesia · 08/06/2018 17:58

Sounds like Russ is going to lose interest by the end of the month.

IalwayswantedtobeBeth · 13/06/2018 08:38

I hope you're right about Rob, Gumpendorf. I am not sure I could go through all that again!

Anisha … leaving?

Kate … doing a Kenton and asking for her inheritance now?

I'm sure you are right about Lily, Gruach and the devastation will be to do with the "teacher" legging it as soon as parent/wife is aware of what is happening.

I am enjoying the pace at the moment although coming to the conclusion the Shula and Alistair may have been better matched than they realised. Perhaps that is unkind and they will both improve on separation.

BoreOfWhabylon · 13/06/2018 09:28

Yup, Anisha's on her way out and wouldn't be a bit surprised if Rex declares his lurve for Pip.
