Alistair deserves sympathy this week - as well as his marriage going west, he's finding it difficult to find tranquillity in the guest bedroom at Jim's, with the disturbance of piano music on the one hand and Jazzer's nocturnal noises on the other. And things only get even worse when Shula attempts a nice thing, only to get it horribly wrong.

Things are still icy at Grange Farm, where Will is let down after trying to go overboard on pleasing Jake...which doesn't work. In the meantime Emma is still suffering after Will's attack of last week, though a change for the better for the Grundies might be in the offing as a result of Clarrie's UN-style intervention. In other news, Pat still anticipates dire events in Olwen's case, while Brian finishes the week by concluding a cryptic agreement.

Kenton reckons Shula should let her hair down and escape the stresses of her existence. But then Kenson and common sense never were the best of pals, so what’s the betting his big plan ends up making things a lot worse?

At Home Farm, Alice has a few choice words for Adam about family loyalty. And it appears as though the pep talk has its desired effect: by the week’s end, Adam has got Brian to open up about what he’s been planning.

Meanwhile, toff tearaway, Freddie finds himself in trouble at college, which leads to Johnny swooping in to rescue his friend. But Freddie’s lies catch up with him when Lily discovers the truth and demands and explanation...

Adam’s petulant whining are hard to take at the best of times, so goodness knows how he’ll fare when he tries to generate some good publicity by appearing on Radio Borsetshire. And that’s not the only Home Farm related drama this week: the Aldridges are set to discover exactly what to Brian has been up to in order to get the business out of its mess.

Elsewhere, the Grundys fear the worst as Will declares war. Pat discovers Olwen’s whereabouts and offers her support – but doesn’t get the response she expects. Lily is continuing to give Freddie the silent treatment at Lower Loxley. And one Ambridge resident is the victim of a shocking attack -but who is the perpetrator?

Freddie obviously hasn't heard the old adage. "when you're in a hole, stop digging". As his lies spiral , he's hauled in front of the deputy head at the college.. But will he seize the chance to be honest about everything that's been going on? Lily meanwhile has been harbouring a secret of her own and a loved one is stunned when she admits the truth.

Over at the stables, the permanently baffled Alistair has a confession to make, which leaves Shula more confused than ever, but with the gossip already spreading will this drive them further apart? Susan comes up with a plan to save the Grundys but she might not get the reaction she was hoping for from Will....
