Sorry but I couldn't resist an opportunity for puns galore Grin

I didn't understand Pat's reaction. It was like she was accusing Helen of being pregnant. If your newly-married, TMI-sharing, previously glowing DD appeared pregnant wouldn't you be pleased and congratulatory, not accusatory.Confused

Good point about D&V and food hygiene.

Why doesn't she think it's possible? Has Rob been messing with the contraception? Putting holes in the johnnies or some such? Exchanging the Microgynin for vit C tabs?

Adam must surely say to Brian at some point that he thinks Rob is a rank bad yin. Charlie told Brian about the dairy fiddles. This must all unravel.

BiscuitMillionaire · 29/09/2015 22:16

Can we have 'the HeatherPet Memorial Robotic Milking Parlour' in the next thread title too? Grin

tibbawyrots · 29/09/2015 23:26

I now listen twice a day. Blush Think I'm getting addicted!

Gruach · 29/09/2015 23:46

Twice a day? That's baaaaaaaad ...

EBearhug · 30/09/2015 00:09

I was thinking about the food hygiene, too. I think Pat was as well, in a sort of "if you're not pregnant, we might have a massive H&S issue on our hands" way.

BertrandRussell · 30/09/2015 00:20

Considering the problems that Bridge Farm had with E. coli, it's ridiculous that Pat and Helen wouldn't be taking her being sick seriously.

Summerisle1 · 30/09/2015 00:23

I am so pleased to have found this little corner of Borsetshire. Having assured my DH that Heatherpet would snuff it before Ruth got off the A1, I am thoroughly cross that I missed my prediction coming true. It's the first time in ages that I've missed an episode, let alone two in a row.

Still, onwards and upwards. The Grundys need to be threatened with eviction and Helen to suffer a mysterious fall downstairs once Rob has got step-parental responsibility.

EBearhug · 30/09/2015 00:43

I just need something explaining.

Ruth was driving Heather down from Prudhoe, and they stopped at services "in the middle of nowhere" and went to A&E in Nottingham by ambulance.

David drove up to Nottingham and met Ruth at the hospital. They stayed overnight in a hotel, because Ruth was so upset. David drove them back to Ambridge, and they arrived together.

So is the other car with Heather's suitcase and her photos and so on still at the services?

I mean, I wouldn't like to pick holes or anything, but...

Gruach · 30/09/2015 00:56

I guess it wouldn't be unreasonable to suppose that Ruth was too upset to even look at her own car in the morning. David would have said "don't worry, I'll come back with Josh and pick it up in a couple of days ..."

I prefer that interpretation to a continuity failure. Grin (But I wasn't paying close enough attention to be sure of what happened.)

CuttedUpPear · 30/09/2015 06:04

Well there's bound to be a massive car parking fine for stopping at the services for more than 2 hours. I know I've had them. Mind you I wasn't travelling with a dead body. ...

PseudoBadger · 30/09/2015 06:06

The whole Helen thing about "mistakes don't happen to me mum" (paraphrasing!) is really her talking about the marriage as well. She can't face up to the fact that other people have noticed that she may be pregnant (I hope not!) as her loss of control is becoming obvious. Pregnant wasn't the plan, neither was marrying a cuntweasel. It's all gone so wrong and she can't stand that.

OP posts:
tibbawyrots · 30/09/2015 06:54

I didn't spot the car scenario either.

LillianGish · 30/09/2015 07:07

I agree pseudo. Helen is completely unable to admit she might have been wrong - she definitely has doubts now, but she can hardly admit them to herself let alone anyone else. Not sure about her refusal to face up to the fact that she might be pregnant - surely she must realise that that is something that is not going to go away. I think she's sounding more and more panicked - in her exchanges with Tom yesterday and then with Pat (was it just me or did it sound as everyone was shouting in last night's rather disjointed episode?)

redshoeblueshoe · 30/09/2015 07:40

Lillian I agree with you and pseudo, but its because everyone treats her like a special snowflake, and she's sooooo perfect and smug - that its simply beneath her to be wrong about anything. She has always backed Rob when he has treated everyone around them like shit. I don't think this will be sorted soon. I also agree with pp upthread who said that maybe Rob is putting something in her food.

I go away for one week and we're 14 pages into a new thread Shock
note to self keep up with thread whilst away

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/09/2015 07:40

Hmmm... wonder if they are going for a longer s/l of pre/post-natal depression with birth of the SOK (Spawn of Knob)? Knob will of course gaslight her throughout.

redshoeblueshoe · 30/09/2015 07:40

whoops 18 pages Blush

BYOSnowman · 30/09/2015 07:48

Whilst I am pleased they are going with an abuse sl I don't think I can bear this going on for years.

It's also a big sl in that a lot of episode time is given to it. They can't suddenly reduce that but it will get too much after a while

Gruach · 30/09/2015 07:55

SOK

GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 30/09/2015 07:57

If it is true to life it will wax and wain. So the sl may fade on and out. He has to be nice sometimes or she will leave.

I wonder if the Fallon thing is two fold. She cannot disobey Rob and also wants to avoid Fallon because Fallon will know.

Minimammoth · 30/09/2015 07:59

She's dead then. Tick.
What I can't bear about the Rob storyline is that nobody is gossiping along the lines of that Rob Titchener is a right a* , what is going on there. We need some dessent.

LillianGish · 30/09/2015 08:02

everyone treats her like a special snowflake with good reason. I think Pat's reaction - which some think is out of character - is partly because she hopes against hope that Hellen isn't a special snowflake anymore. She wants to believe Helen is going to be OK - she didn't like Knob, but she has finally accepted him (after much persuasion from Helen), seen how much Henry loves him and having come to terms with the disappointment of them running off to get married, saw how loved up Helen was on her return and now what could be more natural than that she might be pregnant? She thinks her special snowflake is safe in Knob's hands. Pat is going to blame herself when it all comes out.

redshoeblueshoe · 30/09/2015 08:05

Minim - exactly ! We all put up with the occasional idiot, but when not in their company we do actually say what we think about them or is that just me

PlayingSolitaire · 30/09/2015 08:05

I was intrigued by her "I cannot be pregnant" line. It makes me wonder about their rape night. Can she not remember what happened? I was assuming the whole point of the rape was Rob not wearing condoms and that's why she was crying the next morning. Or was she so drunk she can only vaguely remember it, but not exactly what happened. However, in that case, why is she upset- they are a newly married couple and she enjoyed having sex with him before that night. Was he violent to her? Has she not questioned why?

Helen needs to have a conversation with someone!!
