"Nigel?s confident he knows all the footholds on the roof. It?s secret Pargetter knowledge passed down from his father. But he loses his footing when the wind blows the banner into his face. Nigel clings on as David desperately tries to reach him but it?s too late, the wind carries a terrified Nigel over the edge."

Was a far more boring episode that I expected given the build up!

Chil1234 · 02/01/2011 20:05

They shouldn't really have built it up, should they? When John Archer went over with his tractor that was really impactful because no-one saw it coming.

Oh, I feel a bit let down. I thought there may be another twist, but see the bbc have confirmed it was Nige.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 02/01/2011 20:12

yy chil, that was truly shocking

I wept buckets

this - meh; poor Nige, Nice-but-dim

grrr that Hellin is still around

carocaro · 02/01/2011 20:12

what's the Twitter name of Nigel please?

BoysAreLikeDogs · 02/01/2011 20:20

Nige is played by someone Seed

hang on

Graham Seed

Abr1de · 02/01/2011 20:40

Having listened to the last half minute again, I think Nigel is still alive--he is grunting a few moments after the long AAARRGGH! falling bit. Is he holding on to the banner, perhaps?

Here's the link

BoysAreLikeDogs · 02/01/2011 20:44

oooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhh

Consuela39 · 02/01/2011 20:53

I'm just relieved this wasn't actually in 'Baby names' as I first feared!!!

Consuela39 · 02/01/2011 20:56

...and while I am amongst you lot, can I just please confirm it isn't just me who is unable to ring NatWest Actionline due to the person who speaks to you on the recorded menu sounding exactly like Helen Archer?

This has been going on for years and is the reason I am overdrawn with no idea how much money I don't have.

I even complained about it once but they still have her voice. It's torture.

barbarianoftheuniverse · 02/01/2011 20:56

That's David I think. He does make noises like that from time to time.

teahouse · 02/01/2011 21:01

@Abr1de - you are right, a definate groan - serious injury then - is it Archers meets Casualty on Monday?

Abr1de · 02/01/2011 21:04

Might be, teahouse.

Greenshadow · 02/01/2011 21:46

Agree with barbarian - think the groan noise was David.

Eleison · 02/01/2011 21:56

I'm praying that it is David. Love Nigel, and can't bear Lizzie on the warpath. David is dull enough that being dead won't make much of a difference to him.

MogTheForgetfulCat · 02/01/2011 21:59

DH and I chose who we thought it was going to be - I chose Nigel . Was confirmed for me before the event when he started reminiscing in a moony sort of way. Feel bit sad to have made the correct choice, though Sad. Lizzie's wrath will be terrible to behold...

Eleison · 02/01/2011 22:01

We are going to have to go on iPlayer to do deathcry analysis.

lalalonglegs · 02/01/2011 22:27

It was Nigel - even the scream sounded hen-pecked Wink.

Abr1de · 02/01/2011 22:41

Just use the link I posted, Eleison. It's the last half minute.

Eleison · 02/01/2011 22:45

Thanks. It's def Nige that fell, isn't it. Sad

autodidact · 02/01/2011 22:45

lol consuela.

Abr1de · 02/01/2011 23:09

Yes, but I don't think he is dead.

Strawbezza · 02/01/2011 23:28

I think Nigel's dead. Anyone got next week's Radio Times? Is Graham Seed in the cast list?
