morning, mad dash today. Birthday party then BQ then Olivia having sleepover with 4 of her cousins so it is all go and bloody boiling.

Maxy hope you slept better.

Roslily what a pretty name and hiya.

Better go now i have a little girl to get all partied up and she is just about stuck to the roof with excitement.

Byeeeeeeeeeeeee xxxx

5inthebed · 05/06/2010 13:01

So what have you had/got then Rosalie?

Its warm here today, had the kids at the park. Was a total nightmare though as my neice is there, and she is a spoilt little madam, won't play with anyone except ds1 and takes mega tantrums/cries if she cant get her own way. It's horrible to say, but I really don't like her at times.I think its time I stopped visiting my mam when she is there again, definitely going to stop having trips out with her as it always ends in me getting quite cross with her, my mam/sister getting cross with me and my kids getting sod all because of her. .

Rant over.

roslily · 05/06/2010 14:37

well i was given a graco by BIL, but it was mouldy, so at 37 weeks pregnant I bought a Streety travel system. Then when ds was 4 months bought a Britax Verve and an Urban Detour for off-road. Then got a Perenda off-roader- one for us and one for my parents to save us lugging. Then bought a cheap stroller, and then a mothercare more expensive pushchair! I have just got a Herbie, which I love.

But obviously i am always looking! In that time i have also had 4 changing bags!!

maxybrown · 05/06/2010 16:48

oooh 5in I sypathise completely. has been really warm. We had to nip out to PO and get couple of bits, then we went to check the other half of the parking ticket to see how long we had and DH realised he still had the WHOLE of the parking ticket in his wallet so he had to scurry back quickly keeping everything crossed, fortunately we were ok!

Came home and straight in the pool, was lovely with sausage sandwiches ad a pimms ooh if no one knew better, that makes me sound posh DISCLAIMER - we are not posh - the pool is a large blow up one and the pimms is a one off - not had pimms for about 6 years

OP posts:
horsemadgal · 05/06/2010 17:03

LOL maxy all v posh bar the sausage sandwiches haa!

maxybrown · 05/06/2010 17:20

am feeling a bit sleepy after pimms DH wouldn't have any as he said he'd be asleep in seconds!

5inthebed · 05/06/2010 17:34

maxybrown · 05/06/2010 19:06

carrielou2007 · 05/06/2010 19:16

Lol at Maxy telling us you are not posh!!!! Pimms is quite posh

Did not buy my MB swift as they did not have any raincovers or it would be here right now. Loved it, tyres are a wee bit smallerthan the urban but still lovely. Goingto wait until tue (when get CB ) then will have enough and think will go for it and order online the one that is 299 with raincover

lillypie · 05/06/2010 19:29

Hi everyone I have had a crazy few days at work
here
Because of the location people come in their hundreds if the sun is shinning and sit on the patio or the steps by the water and even on the sailing club pontoons.I have made dozens of jugs of Pimms 5his week

I have also had a fab buggy bargain this week
here it's in fab condition and came with a shade a babe that will sell for twice as much as I paid for the buggy.Huge seat and lighter and a much more compact fold than MB.The whhel base is quite wide but it's not for buzzing round the shops so it's fine.

carrielou2007 · 05/06/2010 19:48

Fabbi, what a bargain Lillypie!!! I need to see a nipper somewhere, they are only 179.99 new but not sure if they are for me and would like to see one to compare. Then I have found a 2009 MB urban in chocolate for 299 new so why don't I just get that (but would be too big/heavy for holidays as swift would fit in cam travel bag)

Aragghhhhhhh does the search ever end !!!!!

lillypie · 05/06/2010 20:15

I have a double nipper (fixed wheel) and I love it as a twin,it's a dream to push but never fancied it as a single.

maxybrown · 05/06/2010 20:34

I'm not posh - really I am not - nowhere near - I just thought pool & pimms sounded posh so thought I better justify myself in case I sounded like a luvvy darling

fab bargain lilypie!!

Never had a mountain buggy so wouldn't know I am loving the volo at the minute though

OP posts:
lillypie · 05/06/2010 20:42

I was tempted to sell my quest and have a volo instead but dd still sleeps in the buggy in the afternoons when I am on my way to work and I can lay her down in the queat.
It's funny when she was two I couldn't get her in the buggy,at three I can't get her out of it!

maxybrown · 05/06/2010 20:54

They say that often about toddlers don't they - the age thing I mean!

James still will sleep in pushchair, and is managing to do so rather well in the volo without any head lolling. The newer ones have some extra fabric almost in the seat and it velcro's onto the hood - when attached it is more upright and when not attached more "reclined" if that makes sense?

I wouldn't really want to use it in the winter but then he will be 3 in September so it will be for rare usage come winter!

hellooooo

bargain lillypie

welcome roslily.

well was working last night so shattered. Have decided to sell our caravan that my parents bought us as we will never get round to using it

horsemadgal · 05/06/2010 23:04

Aww Sal, hubby is thinking of selling our caravan too. I think we'd regret it but we aren't using it enough just now to justify the expense.

chegirlmonkeybutt · 05/06/2010 23:35

Just an update.

Have 'won' a silver cross on ebay for 18 quid!

Its blue velvet YAY!

I am already thinking of ways I could customize it.

Waiting to arrange pick up - cant wait to take DC5 out for his first 'looking at mummy' walk.

maxybrown · 06/06/2010 10:44

that's good chegirl!!

Morning all

Carrilou are you around please? Want some slimming world advice. I just want to buy the books (cheap as possible ha ha) to do it myself and have been looking on ebay and wanted some advice as what to buy. There is the complete 2010 starter pack but also this and this is cheaper so wondered if this would do what I want? I still have all my old weight watchers stuff but fancy something a bit different as DH and I will do it togther and form sounds of it think he will find slimming world easier of the 2!

OP posts:
5inthebed · 06/06/2010 10:53

Morning all. Im always at a good buggy buy. My last bargain was my butchers stripe quest.

I've got a slightly sore head, whole bottle of red wine went down too well last night.

DH away to TKD with the kids, so lovely and peaceful here until 1pm. I love Sunday mornings

carrielou2007 · 06/06/2010 12:06

The extra easy is what I do Maxy so extra easy cookbook is great the green food optimising book has your 'list' basically you can have nearly all fresh fruits and veg 'free')and most meats provided you cut off all the fat (mince drain use lean and drain off any fat) the you have a list of 'a' and 'b' you chose one of each. You have 'syns' so if you have no more than 5 of these each day to control your cravings (bag of walkers crips is 5syns for example)

You only weigh cereal, milk and cheese so it is easy and each meal you want to make sure it is in thirds - third free (say jacket pot) third superfree (fruit/salad/veg) and your meat.

Things hard for me are very very little bread (you would have to use your syns) no butter/marg, no much cheese. You can have scrummy activia fat free yogs, muller lights etc so you can get your 'sweet' craving from not eating choc.

Email me if you like, itmay not be for everyone but it has worked for just over two stone for me!!

maxybrown · 06/06/2010 12:19

Thanks carrie - will email you later if ok. DH will really really struggle with the little/no bread thing. I will find it much easier than him me thinks!!

Advice please, would you spend the weekend staying in a Travel lodge type place, with a 4yo fussy eater/drinker and a 6m baby who has just started baby led weaning?

I fancy going to Thomas land!
