Nicola - is parcelmonkey ok?

Well review went well. She did some assessments on his ocmprehension anyway, just in case but came out above his age so that's good at least.

Going to take part in an experiment with some speech woman who is watching children age 2 -4 who don't speak to see if it is related to peronalities and so on, sounded quite intersting, she comes to your house and carries out a very thoorough speech test, which, so says the salt, even they don't have (does make you wonder why though eh?) and that gets sent to me and then she comes back a year later etc.

SALT said his name would be put down for speech unit in september for the following september in case he needs it. Bit sad about that as means he won't spend his foundation years with his peers

basl · 12/05/2010 14:04

Hiya Maxy, So glad the review went well. Does that mean he will only have to go to speech unit it you don't find any improvement? Not sure if i am talking nonsence but Olivia starts school in Aug with nobody she went to school with as i decided to sent her to a different school which has no nursery so she will not be with any of her friends from nursery. Huge decision and had a long chat with debuty head who assures me they all cope well and make new friends easily and help built confidence. She went for a visit by her self today to her class and came home with a teddy and was so proud of her as she knew nobody. Sorry if that is in no way the same just trying to make you feel better about James maybe moving on with diff peers. I am confused now .

Just spent an hour with bt broadband regarding the set up of new hub. Then on to BtIT who solved the problem in seconds. I have been trying to set up wireless when i don't need it. Doh. The guy was soooo lovley and had the best newcastle accent ever. He said "Don't worry Little lovley miss turner, your all sorted pet" I know we were using remote assistance but how could he tell i am little. Such a nice call and i will try and speak like that tonight when i go to work (not) I would get into so much bother for being so personal but i loved it.

maxybrown · 12/05/2010 16:11

Hi Basl you make me laugh. What it means is, he will start at his school nursery in jan - the one he willbe in til end of primary, then if needbe, he will go to the speech unit next september, thus leaving his peers, then when he is in year one he will go BACK to his school, the one he starts at in january so basically, he starts with them, leaves them, then goes back 2 years later BUT if when he starts Nursery in jan and he comes on leaps and bounds, then he will NOT attend the unit - clear as mud? No? lol

Anyway THANKYOU for his lovely camper top he loves it but would not wear at as "he has clothes on already" obviously - why did I not think of that - this is all with signs by the way of some sort or another! Anyway, will email you in a moment.

BT man sounded nice - that is better IMO, but waht do we know eh?

Right, parcelmonkey got really really bad feedback.

What courier shall I use for volo? Having it collected on Monday - don't want to book to early and be forgotten about, nor leave it too late! Any help please, else I shall just stick to senditnow

nicolamumof3 · 12/05/2010 16:18

just dashing out but wanted to say parcel monkey fine..talk later! X

5inthebed · 12/05/2010 16:19

I always use P4d, never had any problems with them Maxy.

DS2 went to a special unit before he started school, and came on leaps and bounds while he was there. Try not to worry about him not being with children he will be going to school with. You might hit lucky and he'll be in class with someone who is going to the same school as him eventually.

Basl, the BT centre isn;t far from where I live, a few of my friends work there

fluffydog · 12/05/2010 16:49

Has anyone had or got the new Micralite yet? I have just walked passed our local pram shop and saw it in the window. I have also been looking for something smaller than or xts twister that we can use in the car. I am not that keen on the maclaren we have and would like to replace it - I think it is because the xts has air tyres so it is a dream to push. My LO is 16 months so I think we shall be using a pushchair for a little while yet. Would value your comments. I have looked at the out n about 360 but am not sure.

5inthebed · 12/05/2010 17:07

Which one fluffydog? There is Toro and fastfold light? I've got a fastfold, and I love mine, althouh it doesn't lie down, so wouldn't be any use if your LO likes to sleep when out and about. The Toro does lie down, but I've never had one of those. The only bad point about them is that they tip if you have anything on the handles and take your LO one out, unless you have something in the basket. I bought buggy weights though to resolve that problem.

5inthebed · 12/05/2010 17:07

Oh, and Nipper 360 is a fantastic pram as well, would get one of those if you want your LO to sleep in it.

FlyMeToDunoon · 12/05/2010 17:39

Nicola has had a Toro.
Of course
Maxy I use parcel2go with no problems.

5inthebed · 12/05/2010 17:42

Actually, Nicola has had both (there's a shocker)

maxybrown · 12/05/2010 17:45

Thanks guys.

5in, I doubt he would be with someone at same school, it is the other side of the city and for 12 pupils only out of the whole of the borough......but you never know I guess? It just makes you feel like a bit of a failure......if that makes sense, like I was given a time limit almost to get him talking. I know in my heart that is not true, but well you know. i asked if there could be any funding for a small nursery place now, but doubtful.

nicolamumof3 · 12/05/2010 17:59

Maxy who did you book with in end?

please try not to worry about DS too much or the future i know it is hard to say but he is only 2.5yr and has so much more to show you. He will be fine. Tom started school not knowing a soul as we had lived in different town. You haven't failed him don't think like that

Yes i've had fastfold and toro. The new micralite is the superlite only changes is that seat reclines alot lot more. They look lovely. What maclaren do you have fluffy dog? Are you looking for this as your main pram?

maxybrown · 12/05/2010 18:11

I haven't, I have a page up with p4d and one with parceltogo

who shall i use? And how precise do I need to be with weight and measurements?

Thanks Nic, I know - I have this image of no one playing with him because he doesn't talk, he is so sociable too. But he has excellent play skills, can entertain himself for hours, so if they shoved him to one side, I reckon he'd just go off and find something else to play with. Although in saying that, he is very confident so who knows really. Just getting myself in a stupid tizzy

Anyway help with courier please

nicolamumof3 · 12/05/2010 18:20

i normally always used p4d. but not been let down by parcelmonkey used four times now.

maxybrown · 12/05/2010 18:25

How strict do i need to be with dimensions? This is why i always use senditnow as don't need to worry about any of that then!

carrielou2007 · 12/05/2010 18:32

Evening, not been on for a few days, just off to read back!!!

fluffydog · 12/05/2010 19:42

thanks for all the comments so far. I have a quest and I think if I change to a micralite it would be a fastfold and would probably try and use it as my main pram which is why I am debating between the fastfold and the nipper.

5inthebed · 12/05/2010 20:05

I have a fastfold and a Quest. Ideal as I am going to use the fastfold as my main pram, and the quest for car/hen we're out and DS3 will need to sleep.

nicolamumof3 · 12/05/2010 20:23

maxy i'd do say 120 x 40 x 40 should do it?

fluffy i'd go for superlite over fastfold for a 16m old. But think i'd even go for nipper over that tbh. Hood bugs me on micralite doesn't offer much coverage. nipper is very light and fab for beaches..summer woodland walks, farms boot fairs etc! offers lovely lie flat 'bed' for sleeping and huge hood. only thing iis if you have a nosy little man he may not like the slightly laid back seat but would think micralite is very siimilar?

Maxy...have you had a clothes sort out yet??!

maxybrown · 12/05/2010 20:43

lol, yes have been doing it - doubt there is anything you will want though Nic....I don't think. need to upload pics, but have to nip to off licence for milk, grrrr

nicolamumof3 · 12/05/2010 20:49

grrr indeed!!

maxybrown · 12/05/2010 20:50

5inthebed · 12/05/2010 21:15
