Jogging Into February Shed As we are already halfway!

Thought I would take us into February finally, with my baby jogger ta dah!!

maxybrown · 18/02/2010 14:08

I know I know, but I am thinking, shove it in the cupboard and forget about it, only get it out in dire emergencies? Otherwise i should have just kept XLR but it is silly.

For example, next week I will go to work to clean for coupl of hours and DS has his forst speech therapy appt in afternoon in town so my Mum will meet me in town with him. I know she is scared stiff about getting the BJCE on the bus so it would be ideal for that. We don't go abroad so no worries there, would always take the baby jogger on hols anyway so it would be for very very light use.

Sigh......

Plus, I sold XLR, then after she had paid for it, Ebay ended the listing (i know confising) because apparently maclaren complained it was breach of copyright because I used a stock photo so all ebay transactions have been cancelled, meaning no fees bizarrely! I contacted the buyer, she still wants it said to send it. i suggested I refund her and she re buy it. I have been honest with her and said I can't afford to lose out on the money and it will be fully tracked etc etc!

Now who's going on?

OP posts:
basl · 18/02/2010 14:17

ohh that's a nightmare. Did you have other things to sell on ebay? Has it cancelled everything. At least she still wants it.Having read over again what you say i think there is a possiblity of it maybe being silly only a teensy wee bit but i did look at that xt and it does look great with the new hood. £40 i say you can't go wrong. If it will be used as little as you are saying then does sound like a good idea. You really will be hard pushed (not meant to be a joke) to find anything better than the elite so maybe this maclaren is just the ticket. My dh would wish i was more like you as i am soooo not sensible at the moment.

Hope you get your ebay sorted out but why bother when you do so well selling on here. You are very popular with the mumsnet customers

maxybrown · 18/02/2010 14:21

I know but it sold on buy it now on ebay, people wanted it on here but didn't have funds. I much prefer selling on here much much prefer it!!

It does look good condition doesn't it and for price and lack of use........sigh, I am not sensible at all. Just that there are other bits i want to buy with the money too......greedy maybe

OP posts:
basl · 18/02/2010 14:31

Hope someone else comes along Maxy to help. I am off to pick up Olivia now i think it does sound a fab deal but i don't know much about maclarens. It would allow you to get your other bits that would be great. You could always sell it on again to the lady that is showing interest now if you don't want it. Here i go agai with my dell boy ways.
I think you know what is best and hope you will come to decision soon and then cam have loads of fun spending the rest of your well earned funds on what you really want. xx Good luck.

FlyMeToDunoon · 18/02/2010 15:35

So here I am back again. I didn't lst long in the yucky weather and have not posted basl's packet I am supposed to be going over to see a friend later so hopefully post it then.
Maxy I don't know about the ebay thing. It sounds very annoying though.
If I was in your position about the pushchairs I would have gone through the process that basl so succinctly outlines and then ended up [as I have done] with an ok, not very new, but very decent XT. Mine is grey 2008 so slightly newer but I am sure that the one you are considering sounds good.

maxybrown · 18/02/2010 15:40

Flyme it is here if you haven't seen it.

I'm not worried about ebay thing too much as at worse will refund it, but am worried if i send it then she makes a claim (as she could do as her listing got cancelled) though I would have proof of sending etc etc

carrielou2007 · 18/02/2010 16:08

Aternoon all.

Maxy I know if it were me the sensible head would say 40 xt but like basl says get what you really want. Every time I used it I would think wish I got the black xt/spitfire .

As an xt hater I love love love the black xt. Then again my preg hormones made me sell mine due to some of the silver tips rubbed off to buy a brand new one but as they were on offer at 150 it didn't cost me much.

Same hormones also made me buy the bee but now my sensible head is making me sell and have bought a streety insted to leave in the car for the few months when ds too big for RF in pliko but too small for FF in black xt.

So, I'm not really much help at all am I!!!!

5inthebed · 18/02/2010 16:09

I saw that last night Maxy, and have no idea what you should do. Very annoying of Ebay seeming as transaction had already gone through.

Re 2nd pram dilemma, go for the cheap XT on the board, looks in great condition and it will do for wht you need it for.

maxybrown · 18/02/2010 16:11

No, not really. BUT i am trying to see t as, I have the pushchair I really want, the BJCE, it is fab, have no desire to use anything else. if i got the spitfire I would feel like I have to use it.

I know what I'm like though......pooh. Where's Nicola when i need her

OP posts:
basl · 18/02/2010 16:18

Flyme don't worry about the liner being posted. There really is no hurry as we are all discussing this is only for my second pushair that i will not need just now. Just got excited and would love to see it but don't go out of your way honestly i am more than happy to wait. Mmmmm what about the zapp maxy did u not consider that?
Daniel is having his first little play out in the back garden with big sister having a good old guddle in the mud and all my chops are everywhere. He walked all the way home from nursery and loves it. Now there is another reason for my not having a sensible head. He wants to walk and i have two pushchairs. Who am i kidding.

5inthebed · 18/02/2010 16:44

Get the Spitfire then. I loved mine, but don't think I'm a mac fan. Prefer one handled prams.

FlyMeToDunoon · 18/02/2010 17:12

Sorry just been browsing the houses in Kikcaldy. So cheap compared to here.
Right off out again into the yucky weather.

5inthebed · 18/02/2010 18:17

I love Kirkaldy/Edinburgh. Such a pretty place to live.

BexieID · 18/02/2010 19:56

I've been having a 'pushchair at my mums' dilemma, lol. I have that 'sticky handled' XT I was going to use that I got from Qwerty for £15 (and bought a raincover for it). Oh, and Hungry Caterpillar liner and comfort pack (which i'm selling as getting grape flower buggysnuggle). Was meant bidding for a butterf;y Jane Sonic and forgot. It went for £92 though, lol. Missed out on a couple of XTs and a Ryder. Now i'm getting a Cybex Callisto!

carrielou2007 · 18/02/2010 20:30

Ooh Bexie, have you sold caterpillar stuff already, I'd love it????

So much for my cheapy streety, have just bought a poshbugs george pig footmuff for it, cost almost as much as the buggy!!!

Must get ebaying to build up my funds again (though I have some in there still - hint hint Bexie!!)

maxybrown · 18/02/2010 20:37

Ooh second dibs on hungry caterpillar please!!

What's the sticky hadled XT like Bexie? Should you sell it to me?

DH thinks I should wait though, he is probably right, I am in no rush.

Yes basl, I am heavily considering a zapp, really that would be perfect, I hated the zia though so bit panicky about it, though they sell easily and when i played with one in toys r us it felt really sturdy compared to zia

BexieID · 18/02/2010 20:56

carrie, Hungry Cat bits here Buggynuts did ask for pix, so will double check that she doesn't want it first.

Maxy, 'sticky handled XT' has a bit of a wonky hood as well. It also has the wheels you don't like (like the £40 XT) but I prefer them, lol. Look like wheels, iykwim I would just want £10, to cover raincover cost, plus courier for it. It is at my mums though, so couldn't send it till after 29th March when i'm down as can't really get my mum to do it .

BexieID · 18/02/2010 21:20

carrie, buggynuts isn't having the hungry cat bits. Still want them? £20 delivered. My PP is BexieID @ hotmail.com

maxybrown · 18/02/2010 22:09

maybe I should leave it Bexie.....what you think? lol

OP posts:
5inthebed · 18/02/2010 22:39

Very at your George footmuff Carrie. I want one for DS3, almost bought one when I bought my Bug, but cancelled it when I sold it. Maybe get a liner made for the summer.

BexieID · 18/02/2010 22:44

Why do you want a stroller?

I just want one to use at mums for upto 6 weeks a year, which XT would be fine for. But would really like choc/pink XLR or black XT (as fancy a black bugy but am having nicolas nipper when shes done with it). I think i'm just being a bit precious though. I have a Graco Citisport at mums too and used that for a week when Tom was 7 months, but he didn't look right in it. Have a blue Jive as well, lol. Not that it would be suitable for Erin this time. Am getting one of these. Single handlebar is the selling point for me as I do have a bad left wrist from when I fell downstairs carrying the big Graco travel system monster!

carrielou2007 · 18/02/2010 22:54

Sorry for delay, doing picnic for day out tomorrow and wrestling with my car to get the extra seats up in the boot - you're suposed to just 'pull' them up but not budging

Maxy you have the cat stuff, I'm not quite sure (can I have dibs from you!!), I much prefer single handle bar prams, was out today in the sleet, driven so used the pliko and you just can't push it one handed and hold dd's hand without crashing!!

Couldn't resist the george footmuff

maxybrown · 18/02/2010 22:55

well

  1. I feel nervous about just having one
  2. It's always handy to have a stroller
  3. as number 1
  4. When it is nearer Christmas and i want to fly into town on the bus whizz round and fly back then ta dah! Ideal
  5. Occasionally for my Mum to use if she is taking him out as the big one makes her nervous on the bus.
OP posts:
BexieID · 18/02/2010 23:26

Hmm, well i'd go for the £40 XT or mine, lol.

BexieID · 18/02/2010 23:27

maxy, did you want hungry cat? Might bung on ebay, or put for sale here.
