Nicola we avoid the christmas fair now as it is far too crowded. DD1 has been with her friends on their own before now but I am not sure she is bothered this year.

nicolamumof3wisemen · 04/12/2009 21:53

Toms doing a stall this year so we will have to go. DH working all day too.

BexieID · 04/12/2009 21:57

I need to goto Mothercare this weekend, so will just plump for the bigger one thats not in actual Glasgow. Won't be doing Glasgow as DP reminded me that this weekend is the busiest shopping weekend of the year. So may just do it on monday 14th, his b/day, and take Tom out of nursery. Still in 2 minds whether to take Tom to see Santa this year. Have done it last 3 years and wanted to goto the one at Braehead on the ice rink. Decisions, decisions.

GP phoned and have been given iron tablets. Had to take them with Tom as well. Least they are small .

5inthesleighbed · 04/12/2009 22:03

I don't come on here for 24 hours, and you ladies have talked loads! Just glimpsed over, will go back and read it in a minute.

Been really busy the past two days, head is still fuzzy and I am demented, more than normal anyway.

DS2's hospital appointment went ok, got some new tablets to try out, see how we get on with them then. Don't have to go back for another year, so thats ok.

Got the fright of my life last night as well. DS1 + 2 were in the bath, and usually ds3 baths with DH, but DH wasn't having a bath last night, so in my wisdom decided to put ds3 in with the other two. I'd washed the tiles earlier, so all the bath toys were in the sink. Plonked ds3 in the middle of the two, turned to the sink to get the toys, and when I turned back seconds after, ds2 (the one with autism) was holding ds3 under the water . I felt so awful for the way I went on, screamed with fright at ds2 who was then crying, ds3 was sobbing and ds1 was just sitting there wondering what went on. Luckily no harm done, but won't be putting him in the bath with them any time soon.

My dad came over last night and had bought me a slow cooker. I was hinting on for one for christmas, but bless him, he bought me one anyway . I love my dad.

You still with me?

THen this morning I had to run around for my bloody MIL. She has shingles all the way up her arm and down her back, and is in a bit of pain. But she is one of these people who totally milks it when they are ill. This is the woman who, when DFIL was in hospital on his death bed last year, she sat there moaning about how ill she was and wanting DFIL to give her some sympathy . So anyway, I had to go do her shopping, between 10-12, as that is when she usually does it. I couldn't take ds3 to toddlder group or go visit my friend as I'd previously arranged. No, I had to fanny on after her.

Then had to take the car to the garage and its booked in for Monday to get new brake pads done, going to cost £200. Then.....it was the school fete after school today, and ds2 was being a bit challenging, crying because he didn't like santa and then he doesn't deal with noisy crownds and people very well, so we had to leave.

DH came home from work with a lovely bunch of red roses for me and the Take That DVD as well. So lovely of him and a nice surprise. He never buys me flowers!

Sorry for the essay, but I did say I'd been busy ;)

nicolamumof3wisemen · 04/12/2009 22:06

Bexie glad you aren't going hunnie, i said it would be manic, it is the busiest w/end your dp is right there!!

we are going santa next week, can't wait!

nicolamumof3wisemen · 04/12/2009 22:10

oh 5in you have had a busy day. Hopefully Dh appreciated you helping mil even if she didn't so you got some lovely flowers thats fab.

OMG how scary about the boys in the bath, but sooooo easy done.

yaaaaay Gino won celeb

5inthesleighbed · 04/12/2009 22:13

I've not watched I'm a celeb. CAn't stand things like that. I do like Gino though, glad he won!

BexieID · 04/12/2009 22:14

Sorry 5in, couldn't help smile at your comment re MIL: had to fanny on after her. I love the word fanny, lol. I do call Tom one alot.

Scary about the bath incident!

nicola, I just love going to Glasgow on the run up to xmas .

I need to write a list of what I want in Mothercare. Cuddly toy for baby, i'm a big brother t-shirt, nursing bras and anything else that takes my fancy, lol.

5inthesleighbed · 04/12/2009 22:27

I love those big brother t shirts. DS1 had one when ds2 was born, and ds2 had a little brother t shirt. So cute.

Went to Tesco earlier, they have 3 for 2 on their toys so bought a few little bits.

nicolamumof3wisemen · 04/12/2009 22:32

i think im just about done now with the kids presents. I do really want some sheepskin boots tho now for luka keep his tootsies warm.

maxybrown · 04/12/2009 22:45

Right I am off to bed - had a lot to catch up on then! Dunoon, I love your idea for tomorrow, sounds good! Dh is off to Hull tomorrow this week has just been shitty, DS not his normal self - not poorly, just not right iykwim? Whinging, very snotty, paddying etc etc etc. I have just been in most of week and am going stir crazy and think that is part of Ds's problem too. He is loving Christmas this year so may take him out to see decorations and stuff

Dh won't let me spend his voucher without him there either, grrrrr. Or else i would have gone and done that. esp whilst it's 3 for 2 in there.

5in, all sounded lovely - well the lovely bits anyway

Night night xx

nappyaddict · 04/12/2009 23:59

I love these shame about the flowers and butterflies though, makes them too girly to put DS in.

Nicola what about these or these Not sure if he's walking yet? If he is they would still do for slippers.

nappyaddict · 05/12/2009 00:06

If he's walking these and these don't look too bad for the price.

basl · 05/12/2009 00:13

Evening ladies, I could not keep away because my lovley plans for weekend all up in the air. My nephew is down with the dreaded cough, cold, fever. Not well at all so tonight my darling darling husband took olivia and lauren (dn) to ceramic experiance while i got daniel to bed and looked after sean. Wee soul crying so much for his mum and dad and trying to make him feel better. They can't come home just because he has a cold.
We are going to let them help with the christmas tree tomorrow and all the decorations inside and out and see how the wee man is doing and if he wants to join in. The wonders of Calpol. He truly was on fire.
5in sounds like something that could easily happen in my house and what a scare you must have had. Can i ask if your bjcm was the all black colour?

Feeling a bit sad tonight as everyone so into the christmas spirit. My younger sister died of cancer two years ago now and she loved christmas like you would never believe. Such a lovley lovley girl. She went all out for bonfire night,Halloween etc but christmas was her thing. She used to be on the phone if there was a flake of snow. I miss her so much and find this time of year hard but i know it is for the kids and they would never know how i feel. She left two boys now 11 and 9 and they are adorable. I love christmas too but when i put on some cd's the other day for the kids i just get a huge big lump in my throat.
Sorry to go on about this on the pushchair thread but i just feel so happy to chat to you ladies and well makes me feel better.
Flymeto i love your shopping day out suggestion.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 05/12/2009 00:38

Basl, I know how you feel about this time of year. On the 13th it will be 6 yrs since i lost my dad, thanks to a nurse! and I put on a big show for the dc but i miss him so much.

I put my tree up every year on 30th November just as dad did

basl · 05/12/2009 00:53

TLES it is such a happy time but so hard when you miss someone. My sister died on the 7th of January so the whole christmas New Year makes me reflect alot. She was given the all clear in november and then became very ill. I think christmas is for the children and my olivia has asked for a double buggy. I so know why she wants that and i can not wait for her to see it with new dolls in. Take care and sure your dad will be with you on the day. xx

nicolamumof3wisemen · 05/12/2009 06:41

oh bless you basl it is incredibly hard isn't it? Christmas is such a time for emotions i know everything comes to the fore. Very hard when you are missing those you love.

Nappy thanks for the link luka is 2.4yr and most definitely walking i am going to ask DH today if i can order some the problem is they all want them tho, expensive!! but luka was the one with the frozen tootsies and he has least amount of shoes, maybe i should sell his cons.

sal1309 · 05/12/2009 08:55

carrielou2007 · 05/12/2009 10:20

Morning all

Just had to reapply my mascara after reading back, I'm much more emotional since having dd and at the moment the everything gets me welling up!

Sal glad you like the shoes, such a bargain I couldn't bear to take them back at that price!! Pp addy the same [email protected] thank you .

We're going to town shopping today but only for a few bits. Just need a few more shampoos (the one I like is on offer in Wilkos) then I will have a 9 month supply to keep me going whilst on crappy SMP along with conditioner, deodrant, toothpaste etc you would not believe how much stuff I have!!

Will get some small bits for dd as her tv is her main pressie then sit on the beach (again) with dd eating our lunch

janxmas · 05/12/2009 11:03

Oh basl - that is so sad - I can't imagine loosing my sister - I am at work and I have tears in my eyes. My dad died last year just before my birthday - he had been ill on and off for years and though we didn't really get on that well I miss him - my mum finds it all quite hard and soldiers on, but has lost lots of weight and has that sad look in her eyes - thank godness for kids at Christmas to make it all magical. Frida is beside herself opening up the doors on the advent calender - managed to get a wooden one - so I can customise the goodies. She is happy with a chocolate coin and is thrilled that tomorrow it is Luka's birthday and he can open the door on his birthday....she is pretty easily pleased

FlyMeToDunoon · 05/12/2009 11:36

Good morning all.
Know what you mean about remembering over the christmas period. It's an emotional time anyway.
DD2 is packed off to a party and DD1 is going to the christmas fair with her friend.
I am going to chill I hope and try and keep the house in a decent state so that I won't need to clear up too much on Monday. Estate agent is coming to take pics.
Not sure that DP is quite aware of how much work he creates. He leaves his stuff all over the place.
Got the sheepskin this morning and it is good. Not as big as I hoped but then it was cheap-£18.

nicolamumof3wisemen · 05/12/2009 13:41

jan your dd sounds such a sweetie, i hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow.

dunoon, i keep thinking i will be you next year! DS2 away to school and DS3 alot more independent and predictable I can't wait to more me time and less tantrums. he's really tired today and has been awful we've been out all morning. just stopped home to meet my brother, he's home for w/end from Greece first time i've seen him for a year! lovely, but he dashed straight off to meet our dad then im seeing him tomorrow for family party my stepdads 65th bday on monday.

We are off to school xmas fair in a bit, dreading it purely because of luka. not good is it!!!

5inthesleighbed · 05/12/2009 14:16

Afternoon ladies.

Been to the Special Needs toy library today with ds1, ds2, my neice and my mam. Kids got to see Santa as well. He hwas a great Santa, had a proper beard and everything.I think he was the actual real one . Honestly, I was convinced myself ;)

I need to find one of these cheap for ds2 now. He was playing with one there, and was so animated with it. And he has never asked for anything in his life and asked Santa for one. I don't have the £125 though. I was even thinking of sending his TV back and buying one, but he will get a lot of enjoyment out of his tv, I can't do it.

BAsl, mine is the all black, but has a grey seat iykwim. I love it.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 05/12/2009 14:49

5in, i have found a few on ebay...
