Thread II.......Oh dear

OP posts:
aswellasyou · 23/06/2011 17:00

I don't think you can buy bumblerides here but the Mimas are being sold by John Lewis.

aswellasyou · 23/06/2011 17:39

I saw a pushchair on Monday and it's been bugging me that I aouldn't see what it was. I've just worked out it was a Bebecar Ip-Op or Vector I think. It was so nice in real life. The chassis was shiny pewter. I bet they're massive folded down though.

Guildfordnanny · 23/06/2011 17:48

Mima Kobi with more photos and reviews under the middle green button :o [wunk]

aswellasyou · 23/06/2011 18:52

I meant to ask this after seeing the Kobi in real life, I noticed it had loads of fingerprints all over the hood. Do the grey parts mark easily? I think I'd be quite annoyed if I spent £1100 on a pushchair that then showed marks every time I touched it.Hmm When are you having to give the Kobi back? It must have been a month already.

suzie38 · 23/06/2011 19:10

My Flyer is now at Stanstead...On English soil...I'm strangely getting very attached to my Yankie imports.

suzie38 · 23/06/2011 19:14

Bumblerides can only be imported from America unless you're lucky to find a seller on eBay selling a second hand one over here...Bought from 2 companies via US eBay though one did it outside of eBay via just Paypal and it saved me $20...Both stated 3-4 weeks delivery as even though they say they have them in stock, they clearly don't and have to order direct from Bumbleride before forwarding on to me...The Flyer is being sent by the company recommended by Bumbleride for international delivery...Both companies haven't made me feel at ease buying from the States to be honest but the only way i can get them...Now fancy a Flite to replace my Quest but i'll see how i get on with these two first.

Guildfordnanny · 23/06/2011 20:31

Whoohooo Suzie - you should have it really soon. It's been kind of fun hearing you tracking your Flyer! I hope you like it! aswellasyou what colour Kobi did you see? I have the dark grey one and you can't see any fingerprints on it. It's actually remarkably robust...I was terrified at first of damaging it - it's the only pushchair I have unpacked onto blankets. But since then we have had to put it on Tarmac or gravel eg taking it in and out of the car in car parks, and my daughter ...errm...cough...drove her scooter straight across a seat unit whilst I was setting a carrycot up.... there wasn't a mark on it. There are scuffs from her feet but they simply wipe off when she gets out. Other marks simply rub out with an eraser (apparently) and I can believe it. The only thing I have found is that the plastic footrest (or whatever the material is) does rub the back of my daughters Lelli Kelly's and I keep finding bits of pink rubber on the footrest. I discovered what the material was earlier and am annoyed that I have forgotten already! I have been allowed to keep the Kobi until Cheeky Rascals need it back which is very kind of them :) It is a lovely pushchair.

aswellasyou · 23/06/2011 20:43

That is kind! It was a dark grey one as well. That's funny about using an eraser to clean marks off it.Grin I imagine your face was a bit like this Shock when your daughter started to run over the seat unit!Grin
Suzie, you'll have to buy another American pushchair so we can hear about its world tour.Wink

suzie38 · 23/06/2011 20:54

Well the Flite is a Bumbleride as well.

www.bumbleride.com/strollers/flite-home.php

It's now in transit from Stanstead so possibly flying to East Midlands airport if not on the road...Getting excited now Grin

suzie38 · 23/06/2011 20:55

But i won't be bothering with the Bumbleride Queen B though.

Guildfordnanny · 23/06/2011 20:59

Let's just say I wasnt happy Angry.
So what is next on anyone's shopping list? Once Suzie's Flyer arrives whatever will we do???
The BJCM4 arrives at the end of July as does the Duet :o which hubby has just informed me that we...we....had decided we weren't getting!!!! He MUST be joking after waiting so long for it!!!! Hmm Let me tell you, one will be coming here!!!!!!

aswellasyou · 23/06/2011 21:14

How exciting suzie! Maybe you could get the Flite in Ruby.
Guildford, you can tell him we decided you are getting it.Wink

FriggFRIGG · 23/06/2011 21:30

Well im very excited about suzies fyer/bee+ comparison,as i will be buying one or the other Grin
still trying to convince myself I DO NOT NEED A DUET.....

im not doing very well Confused

suzie38 · 23/06/2011 22:37

Got somebody coming over tomorrow afternoon to look at my Vigour 3 and possibly somebody else to look at the 4+ over the weekend...My dad has nicely sanded the rust off the 3's front wheel and is touching it up with black paint so it should look pretty good then Smile

FriggFRIGG · 23/06/2011 23:25

found the bumbleride flyer with a snackpack for £233,so im now desperate for you to like it suzie!!Grin as the bee+ will set me back a darn sight more than that!!!

suzie38 · 24/06/2011 05:59

Latest update the Flyer was at the Nottingham depot this morning at 4am...It's not due to be delivered until Monday though so no idea if it will arrive today as it doesn't say it's out for delivery and it probably be on a van by now...Where did you find that Flyer Frigg??? I can never be bothered to trawl through websites.

suzie38 · 24/06/2011 06:04

No more word about the Indie but if it's in Parcelforce's hands now the tracking probably won't work anyway...Whereas Fedex ^^^ is the same company the world over.

FriggFRIGG · 24/06/2011 08:18

i hope they both turn up soon for you suzie Smile
i found the flyer on amazon, direct from them, same as the contours.

Guildfordnanny · 24/06/2011 10:34

Suzie, if you know it is Nottingham and have a tracking number, I would give Parcelforce a call. If you have been stung for any import or handling charges (Parcelforce charged me £9 when I imported a jigsaw) then you will get a letter next asking you to pay before it is released. So you could be waiting several more days. If there are no charges (hopefully not) then at least you will know. FriggFRIGG didn't pay any did she? But she paid some charges up front. You probably did too, but it will be annoying if you get a letter on Monday!

Guildfordnanny · 24/06/2011 10:52

FriggFRIGG Amazon.com is a terrible habit! You have sent me off looking at Uppa Vista strollers with Rumble seats Confused

MonkeysPunk · 24/06/2011 12:43

Do www.amazon.com actually ship to the UK?

I have listed my Maclaren XLR now Sad .... hope I don't regret it - but it's not being used - and when I think of an occasion when I might use it - I think to myself - oh but the Swift would be better for that....

suzie38 I hope your parcel turns up soon - so not fair if you have to wait the weekend.......

aswellasyou · 24/06/2011 13:19

Monkeys, they do seem to but it may not be everything they sell. You can only see the postage cost/import tax once you get to the payment page thopugh.

aswellasyou · 24/06/2011 13:20

And I'm sure you won't really regret selling it. just think of the money!Wink

FriggFRIGG · 24/06/2011 13:33

now you've got ME looking at uppa vistas with rumble seats!!!
bloodyhell,this thread is dangerous!

MonkeysPunk · 24/06/2011 14:26

Uppababy Vistas are not cheap - are they worth all that money? I heard they were a "hard ride" with little suspension.....

Although if you happen across one half price do shout me! Grin

I am sort of glad I listed the Maclaren (now I viewed my CC bill online! Shock )...I will have to sell a lot more stuff too....hoping it's pay-day for folk soon and they start buying my stuff! Wine
