Thread II.......Oh dear

OP posts:
Honeydragon · 22/06/2011 20:39

You may be able to get away with her sitting on the foot plate for days when the buggy board is to much hassle. My friend has a Vigour too and her dd loves doing this

ooo thanks that might be worth a try! so can i change all 3 wheels on a 3+ to the air tyres?? thanks :)

suzie38 · 22/06/2011 21:01

Don't think the front wheels are removable as i tried mine this morning...The 4 wheels are removable.

fairimum · 22/06/2011 21:13

hmmm... was hoping to swop all 3 wheels from 3 and put them on a 3+ :( wonder if husband could unscrew them! lol

Guildfordnanny · 22/06/2011 21:38

I am pondering what to try out next and what needs to go. Don't disown me, but I think I need a Graco under my belt. It's been many years since I pushed one. But the folded size of the Stadium Duo is too long for my car so I can't pick one up! I also fancy a Joovy Caboose or Sit n Stand or similar....but am worried that DD may like it too much and my Duet / +One could be in jeopardy! I need to try a Nipper 360 out at some point but would rather have the new version as I dont really like fixed handles. Any other ideas especially down the tandem route that isn't umbrella fold (coz they not fit in my boot either!)

Honeydragon · 22/06/2011 22:09

My neighbour has the new version... I strongly disapprove, the handle is like the bjcm

OP posts:
Guildfordnanny · 22/06/2011 22:38

The new Nipper (is it out?) or the new Graco?

Honeydragon · 22/06/2011 23:00

The Nipper......I assume it's the new one, but hers is a single .....I found that even lowered the handle is still near my (admittedly droopy, but not that droopy) boobs. If you're on about the double its due out in July I think? My friend who child minds has seen it at a trade show, says the recline is much better on the new double and the basket is different but she's not sure she likes it eve though it's bigger. she mentioned something about a pocket too Confused

OP posts:
Honeydragon · 22/06/2011 23:01

and yes get you now...the new Nipper double has a adjustable handle doesn't it.....doh!

I'm finding it difficult to suggest you buy a Stadium Duo, Guildford. I just don't like them but I suppose it would make sense for you to know what they're like.
I've just bought this raincover for my stroller. I'm more excited than I should be!Blush They also do a fish one but the flowers might make my blue stroller look more girly.Smile

Guildfordnanny · 23/06/2011 00:13

That raincover is soooo cool! I love it! Hubby won't let me get two for the Taga though :(

LOL re a Stadium Duo...I think I will wait a bit longer.

If you look at my other post I am in Duet heaven tonight..... :o

fairimum · 23/06/2011 13:06

ok... so now looking at the vigour 3+ on ebay but some look like this - cgi.ebay.co.uk/Britax-Vigour-3-Pram-and-Car-Seat-Red-VGC-/320715075425?pt=UK_Baby_BabyTravel_Pushchairs_GL&hash=item4aac1baf61#ht_718wt_1139

and others like this -

cgi.ebay.co.uk/Britax-Vigour-3-Travel-system-Pram-Carrycot-car-seat-/190546921722?pt=UK_Baby_BabyTravel_Pushchairs_GL&hash=item2c5d7b48fa#ht_2926wt_1139

the first has a foot plate and the other doesn't and the seat unti is different by the feet/leg rest - other than this are they the same??? more importantly do they both have bucket seat? or does one lay totall flat (i need the bucket seat!)

argh help!!!

MonkeysPunk · 23/06/2011 13:54

Okay - so I'm supposed to be selling 3 prams on eBay today - to help pay my CC bill - but I'm having second thoughts about listing my Maclaren Techno XLR - DS LOVES it - although we're using the swift I bought daily - which is easy to push one-handed - carries lots of shopping - is very comfy - doesn't tip with my change bag (stuffed full!) hanging on the back...why am I finding it so hard to part with the Maclaren (it's in Persian Red/ Penguin)....???

I would be asking £200 for it - a good chunk of the CC bill, and it would gain us a bit of space back (although currently it's in the garage boxed ready to go..).

I keep wondering if DS will out-grow the swift (his heads a few inches from the hood yet - he's not particularly large for age) - and also he'll be going to pre-school in Sept - so maybe the Maclaren will be good for that - as umbrella folds can be left there (although not securley and outside)......

I think I'll just list the Mac Triumph and The MB Breeze for now and keep thinking....

Any other buggy addicts just have a buggy they find it hard to part with for no specific reason?

MonkeysPunk · 23/06/2011 13:57

Sorry that sounds a high price for the XLR - it's only been used a handful of times - perhaps I should explain that..... and I guess the downside will be if I keep it longer - and use it more - I can expect less return on it. Confused

It's such a pretty colour.....but I don't think DS sits as nicely in it as he does in his swift - which seems more supportive. He however really likes it - but I guess I shouldn't let my 3y old decide... Maybe he likes it because it makes him feel the same as all the other kids he sees in buggies at the school gates?!!! (If only he could explain himself!). LOL

Guildfordnanny · 23/06/2011 14:24

Yes, I am the same....but I was brave and finally listed my Zapp...My City Select should really go but I can't bring myself to part with it....it's not rational really...

suzie38 · 23/06/2011 14:27

I've got 5 listed at the moment...Obviously umbrella folds are great to have though i don't think Technos are that small...I'm keeping my Quest but have left it at my parents house, out of the way...I can't have a Techno because the handle is way too high otherwise i'd get a Ryder.

MonkeysPunk · 23/06/2011 14:45

Ah, I sort of wanted to try the city select - as a single parent facer - it would never be used as a double (unless some miracle occurred and my husband decided he wanted another child or there was a foundling left on our doorstep Hmm!)

I think I may have to be brave and sell it...hopefully DS will forget we had it in time....I am using the liner we bought for it (space ships and planets!) in our swift - as it fits perfectly. The swift is definately more my buggy style - feels v durable and strong - so I don't think it'd let me down - and I can even balance a shopping basket on the hood (I know you shouldn't!) while doing a quick shop - that cannot be done with the Maclaren!

MonkeysPunk · 23/06/2011 14:45

I have the other two listed - will try to get the Maclaren one listed by tonight...

suzie38 · 23/06/2011 14:57

My Flyer has finally left Memphis and my Indie left New York at 7.40pm on the 21st as i finally got the USPS tracking to work...Ooooohhhh it's in the UK somewhere Smile

suzie38 · 23/06/2011 14:58

No, it left Miami...Boy these pushchairs are move travelled than me!!!

Guildfordnanny · 23/06/2011 15:31

Lol re your Flyer - it is aptly named.
I still have the Mima Kobi. It is great. It is a style icon - it's a unique pushchair - head turning. It is great to push, works well for most outings. I wish the lower seat sat upright a bit more but it's less of an issue than with the current Peach Blossom because the child has a clear view out of the sides. It's not a small item to store but if it didn't have the egg shaped seats then it wouldn't be the stylish Mima Kobi!
Well done Monkey re deciding to sell the Maclaren.

mummyistheword · 23/06/2011 15:53

Well......read this thread with great interest and usually too knackered to post but here's one! Loved my nipper double, best buggy I ever had but no longer reeeeaaallly needed it so got a new p and t sport which I rather love also, dd1 is 3.5 now and a good walker so once summer hols nearly here and no pre school trudge for her I thought I'd sell it for the new nipper single.......and maybe a Mac triumph double......I've always always pref side by side to tandem, had my p and t for a whole three months now.....need a change! Clearly if dd1 was littler I would buy a duet! Then I will have an out about which I highly rate and a handy side by side for longer trips out, hmmmm don't know what to choose next but feel the sports days are numbered! It's fab but not light to pit in and out the car, or push really, lovely and sturdy but ready for lighter weights I think.

pramsgalore4 · 23/06/2011 16:13

oh my, i'm not alone at the moment i own a mb urban, streety (hate it), joovy caboose, joovy ergo, p&t sport, micralite fastfold, m&p freestyler,mb twin, jive buggy (great for the bus) and i have recently sold some others my habit has got out of hand over the years and i find my self always looking on internet at pushchairs, what am i going to do when dd4 is walking all the time, i have my eye on the new baby jogger that is due out soon :) but think that will be my last one :(, i also rather like wagons!!!!

MonkeysPunk · 23/06/2011 16:52

I'm going to look up the mima kobi, and the bumbleride buggies. Can these be bought in the UK? What is the website you got your usa buggies from again please?
Still dragging my feet over listing the maclaren. I must do it though!
