Hi I took the liberty of starting a new thread as I couldn't answer on the last one.

@kirinm I am glad you've decided I pull out. I wanted to suggest it but didn't want to stress you out. I hope the next house you view is the one and it all goes smoothly.

@ingkir I have just read all the search results. My son has helped with a couple of questions, I've left a message for my friend to help with something else and I am waiting for the solicitor to ring me back as they've attached someone else's details to the end of the paperwork 🙄. I'm distinctly unimpressed as of course potentially someone has mine and the whole stream could be wrong. Looking at what the emails say it is likely it is a one off but I needed to tell them. The receptionist was going to put me through to the solicitors secretary until I said why I was ringing. Already over the time of when she said she'd be back.

I still have a few things outstanding but I won't exchange until I have answers so I'll wait it out.

Thanks for the new thread @BirthdayRainbow. That's pretty crap that you solicitor stuck the wrong details on your report. I am actually shocked at how useless conveyancing solicitors seem to be in.general.
If it makes you feel any better I once had a debit card sent to me that was for someone else. Let's call him Mr Smith. Then the next day I received his pin as well. The envelope actually was addressed to ME though. I freaked out thinking someone else might have my bank card and details. Went in the bank and they very casually just said "sorry about that, we'll take that back" and that was it!! I was expecting a bloody investigation or something, but nope. Luckily I had no mystery debits from my account, and it was years ago now so I guess it all worked out

TheEnglishSystemSucks · 09/10/2024 15:59

Thanks @BirthdayRainbow - I'm very much hoping to graduate on this one and will be thoroughly depressed if I'm still on it come page 40.

0hshutupshirley · 09/10/2024 16:35

Ha! Same @TheEnglishSystemSucks. I think this is my 3rd but maybe my fourth thread? Not sure if I was the same user name the whole way through though

Waiting4Autumm · 09/10/2024 17:18

Ah thanks for new thread
Cheese and biscuits i also have had a day awaiting calls or emails....kirinm aw im not surprised that pirchase was giving you so much heart and headache!!! Good luck with onward viewing!!

We had a call from estate agent yesterday saying can someone view at 4. I said yes that's fine were all out at the minute but let me know if going ahead as we may be home 4.30 so will make ourselves scarce- OK said EA they haven't confrimed maybe later in eve....silence

Had hoped maybe today... but nothing and we had this chat on last thread but EA follow ups are non existent

I viewed a house on Thursday that I really liked- and absolutely no call to get feedback, I do think this is because my house isn't sold so they are not taking me serious?

I've been on market now just over 3 weeks. Asked EA any feedback that I can take on board anything I am able to change? No apparently nothing we could change or do... so still we wait.

WateryBottle · 09/10/2024 17:22

Hi everyone, can I join? Very early in the process as sadly am getting divorced so we have been getting our house ready to market for sale. In the meantime my dream house (well, dream for my budget!) has sold.

Ive been told by a local agent that these days you can view before having sold, so hopefully I’ll get going soon, but there’s very little local in my budget 😔. Very stressed about the whole thing so joining in with others in a similar boat would be great!

0hshutupshirley · 09/10/2024 17:27

Does anyone know how long it normally takes the solicitors to write the prepare the report on title once they have the searches back? Our LA search came back last Wednesday. Should we be getting it soon ?

BirthdayRainbow · 09/10/2024 19:37

Apologies for the mess of the title. I've asked MNHQ to sort it out.

@0hshutupshirley I know. I rang and they said the solicitor should be back in about half an hour. I never got a call back. I'm not impressed. I feel like she did the spiel to get me to sign in with them but haven't been great since.

@TheEnglishSystemSucks Good luck! I'm hoping to move next month but I'm losing nearly all hope.

@WateryBottle sorry your going through 2 of the most stressful life events and hopefully we can help when you need to vent

I've not sold yet and I've viewed 3 houses in 3 weeks!! The last one EA was first one to seek proof I'm on the market. I'm happy to take viewings from people not sold as long as on the market and hopefully will motivate them to sell too...

BirthdayRainbow · 09/10/2024 20:13

I'm sorry @WateryBottle . I'm also selling sir to divorce. Have sold, bought a new one but having a major wobble tonight about the purchase.

OP posts:
Gamergirl86 · 09/10/2024 21:43

Still here, still not completed on our sale or purchase 🙃

Purchase is being held up by the fact that no one knows where the sewage is going as is not connected to mains water. So that means an investigation. And prob another month of chasing.

LaPalmaLlama · 09/10/2024 21:48

Hello- mainly lurked on the last thread as trying not to tempt fate. Our sale should complete on Tuesday ( have exchanged) and hoping the purchase on the 21st but that relies on a new build getting signed off so less certain. We are decanting into storage and an air bnb.

lingmerth · 09/10/2024 22:39

Thanks for the new thread @BirthdayRainbow .
Well, all our ducks seemed to be lining up at last. Looking to complete on 23/10 then our vendor at the top of the chain tells us that her removal co can't move her till 20/11. Seriously?
Now looking to exchange next week and twiddle our thumbs for a month.
It will be 9 months since we put our house on the market by then.

Did no one say she should find a different removal company?

BirthdayRainbow · 10/10/2024 08:08

You're welcome @lingmerth .

I had a massive wobble about my house last night. I'm struggling to know if it is a genuine wobble as with my illness I don't know whether to trust myself or not. Everyone is saying this is a good house and my fears and concerns are not reasons to not buy it. Then my son said what happens if you pull out which didn't help! I'm going to do pros and cons later just to try and settle myself as pulling out feels too awful.

Sorry again about the title. I've asked that @MNHQ sort it so it looks like the others but clearly not seen my message yet.

Hi all, mind if I join? We're at the start of this no doubt turbulent journey.... Put the house on the market right at the end of June, steady stream of viewings but no offers until 2 weeks ago when we got two within 10 minutes of each other 🙄 accepted one from first time buyers who so far seem relatively sensible 🤞 now on the hunt for our onward purchase. Got a second viewing lined up for today!

kirinm · 10/10/2024 11:13

Our buyer is having her mortgage survey next week. Has anyone got any recent experience? Are properties being down valued?

Cheeseandcrackers40 · 10/10/2024 11:15

Thanks for the new thread @BirthdayRainbow. Do you know what exactly it is that's making you feel wobbly? Is it something specific or just general nerves (which I think are to be expected)?

After nearly another week of no contact vendor has said our suggested completion date won't work for him (fine), but failed to suggest an alternative (not fine) oh and by the way he hasn't completed and returned his paperwork to his solicitor and actually he's not even sure where it is (really not fucking fine). I have PMT and back ache and want to cry. I feel really stupid that I started packing this week.

We recently got our survey and no down valuation. Also our buyers didn't try and reduce after theirs so I guess they didn't get down valued either (which I was surprised about to be honest because we have decking out the back that's in a right state - guess they don't care)

That’s interesting to know! Hopefully I can get viewing soon then! Have you liked the 3 you have viewed?

@BirthdayRainbow i think wobbles are normal, particularly at the business end! Unless there is a tangible concern about something then it’s probably just the cold feet we all get when making such a big decision…

So little is coming on the market near me and Christmas is looming. Does anyone recommend holding off till after Christmas to market?

kirinm · 10/10/2024 11:57

Literally nothing coming on the market where we are. So much for the September buzz! Feel like we might be moving into rented as our buyer seems quite proactive!

Waiting4Autumm · 10/10/2024 12:05

@WateryBottle I've had that thought myself about christmas but I've figured that my house is on for a good price and people will be looking over Christmas, in my personal circumstance we sold our last house 6 years ago around October time and planned on living with family while we waited for a new build to be built. Then changed our minds about that and looked at the house were in now between Christmas and new year, and psychologically I think people think "next Christmas I want to upsize/downsize/move area" etc so it's a good time to have it on there so I'm not moving it off anytime soon.

The houses we have viewed are all very similar. 4 bed detached around same age 25years ish old.

Were currently in a 4 bed detached aged around 20 years too haha but we want more space/second living room

The first house I loved but dh was quite overwhelmed by it, was in quite a bad state, and I would want to reinstate walls that been knocked through which seems alot..

Second house was brilliant but all "done" and I like to put my stamp on

Third is perfect, needs new floors bathrooms kitchen haha but that doesn't worry me at all (all original from 1999) but the location is gorgeous however it's right top of our budget...

Just wish I could shift mine and move onto next step of process!

Ah does the top budget mean that you wouldn’t be able to afford the new kitchen, bathroom etc? Tricky. For the right house might be worth it even if you have to live with a naff 90s kitchen for a bit… or will they not sell to you till you have sold?

Waiting4Autumm · 10/10/2024 13:14

Well I've not put an offer in because until I'm sold ill not really know how much I will have to play with, top budget I could still do the bathrooms and floors, if they take a bit less than asking price I can get started in my kitchen fund but won't be able to do it straight away. I'll be ok to live with the current kitchen for a bit to br fair it's solid wood and on first glance still decent!

RugbyGirl1 · 10/10/2024 13:21

@WateryBottle We were told by our EA that if we put offers in but hadn't sold, they would pass them on but would advise the seller not to accept until we were in a position to sell... Which makes sense I guess. How long has yours been on the market?

We've just offered on a house today eeep
