Just out of curiosity after reading the garden shed thread, can you send me the link to an example of the best place I could buy in your area.

Thanks :)

Not much! www.rightmove.co.uk/new-homes-for-sale/property-41717791.html.

joanofarchitrave · 28/12/2013 23:07

In theory, a 2-bed flat or weird house (sorry, not going to link to my area). In reality, I think you could probably get a 2-bed terrace but it might take a bit of brinkmanship with offers.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 28/12/2013 23:08

This is quite pretty.

Or this...

DowntonTrout · 28/12/2013 23:11

4 bed, detached, probably modern, although there are some character properties within that price range. Lots of semi or terraced, Victorian 4/5 beds. All large houses.

We are in Yorkshire.

DancingLady · 28/12/2013 23:13

Possibly a 3 bed flat, more likely a 2-bed. I'm in SE London too. Prices have gone bonkers - we bought a house 2 years ago for 330,000, now nothing under 500,000 near us...

DancingLady · 28/12/2013 23:15

tell a lie - here's a nice house. www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-43711151.html

Mandy21 · 28/12/2013 23:15

A 3 bed semi in its original state (lounge, dining room, smallish kitchen). If its been extended / improved, would be closer to £400k.

defineme · 28/12/2013 23:17

very nice 4 bed detached or even 5 bed semi in catchment for secondary schools that get 85% a-cs, lovely family friendly area with parks etc, 20 minute bike ride to city centre and countryside the other way.
Just put NG2 into Rightmove

punny only one bedroom! sheesh. Very nice interior though...

DancingLady · 28/12/2013 23:19

Or this 4-bedder. 60s houses aren't to everyone's taste but I love them.

Interior's a bit dodge, and it's Catford, but look at the space!

I'm also in SE London so not much for 350k now the house prices have gone bonkers.
We live in a 3 bed terrace which would go for at least £400'000,we bought it for half that nine years ago.

fanoftheinvisibleman · 28/12/2013 23:22

Probably this if you want to spend all your budget but you'd increase your choices dropping your budget!

SarfEasticated · 28/12/2013 23:22

I feel a bit teary now!
That Hither Green house was nice DancingLady.
Feel lucky we do at least own our flat, it would be awful trying to buy your first place on a regular salary nowadays.

this lovely place in a reasonable area.

If we were looking to buy something now this is what we would go for

WillYouDoTheFandango · 28/12/2013 23:24

Ha I must live near BornofFrustration but I picked this 4 bed in a naice area.

MILLYMOLLYMANDYMAX · 28/12/2013 23:24

Nothing and I do not live in London.

fanoftheinvisibleman what a fantastic garden. I would have to get DD a pony, and myself a ride on lawnmower!
